Catch a Monster Tier List, Best Mons to Use [Scythewing UPD]

The Scythewing update in Catch a Monster introduced several balance changes and new monsters that shifted the overall meta. Because of these changes, some monsters that used to dominate the game have dropped in usefulness, while others have become essential for high-level content like Endless Spire.

This tier list ranks monsters based on overall usefulness, including their abilities, passives, damage potential, and performance in difficult stages. Some monsters may still perform well in early progression, but this ranking focuses more on late-game efficiency and team synergy. Below is a breakdown of the current Catch a Monster tier list after the Scythewing update. Also check out our Catch a Monster Codes for more rewards!

All Catch a Monster Tier List

S Tier – Best Monsters in the Game

Only the top three monsters make it into S Tier. These monsters dominate the current meta and are extremely valuable for pushing Endless Spire or competing on leaderboards.

  • Hydralopee is currently the highest damage monster in the game. Its abilities allow it to deal massive damage consistently, making it almost mandatory for high-end content. If you are trying to clear higher levels of the tower or compete on the leaderboard, Hydralopee is one of the most important monsters you can use.
  • Scythewing became one of the strongest monsters after the update thanks to its incredible support and control abilities. One of its abilities hits multiple times, which becomes even stronger if the monster is shiny. On top of that, Scythewing can provide shields to the entire team while applying vulnerability to enemies. This combination increases the damage enemies receive, which makes Hydralopee even stronger when both monsters are used together. Scythewing is easily one of the best support monsters available right now.
  • Cyber Frostworm remains one of the strongest tank monsters in the game. After several changes and reworks, it gained an extremely powerful ability that reduces incoming damage by up to 95%, making it incredibly difficult to defeat. It also provides a passive buff that increases overall team damage, which makes it extremely valuable for late-game teams.

A Tier – Very Strong Monsters

These monsters are still very powerful and can perform extremely well, but they fall slightly short of the top three.

  • Draco Spike is the newest boss monster introduced in the update. What makes it impressive is its massive HP pool, which is far higher than many other monsters. At higher ranks, Draco Spike can potentially reach billions of HP, making it one of the toughest monsters in the game. However, despite its incredible stats, its abilities are not as strong as the S Tier monsters, which is why it sits in the top of A Tier.
  • Soulron used to be the best monster in the game before the update. For a long time, players who wanted to reach leaderboard positions almost always used Soulron. However, newer monsters have now replaced some of its roles. Even though it is no longer the top choice, Soulron is still a powerful monster and performs well in many situations.
  • Vulgator offers strong overall stats and decent abilities. While it is not as dominant as S Tier monsters, it remains a reliable option for many teams.
  • Mechavolt stands out because of its strong base stats. These stats allow it to compete with many higher-tier monsters in certain situations.

B Tier – Good but Not Meta

These monsters can still be useful but are not as strong compared to the top options.

  • Dustwing was once part of the meta when Eclipse Knight dominated the game. After balance changes and newer monsters being added, its effectiveness dropped.
  • Undine performs slightly better than Dustwing but still does not reach the power level of A Tier monsters.
  • Fanglo introduced one of the early luck-based passives, which helped increase drop chances and progression efficiency.
  • Thunderjet has a 10% luck passive, which can be helpful when farming resources. It also has decent combat performance.
  • Woolhorn is mainly useful for its gold farming passive, which helps players generate large amounts of gold.
  • Tide Vex is a decent monster but does not offer enough advantages to compete with higher-tier options.

C Tier – Situational Monsters

These monsters have some useful traits but generally struggle in high-level content.

  • Titanisk offers good shields and decent survivability. However, its stats do not scale well enough compared to newer monsters.

D Tier – Outdated or Weak Monsters

These monsters are not very useful in the current meta.

  • Fire Dragon is still known for being the fastest mount in the game, but its usefulness in combat is limited.
  • Necro performs slightly better than Fire Dragon in damage, but both monsters are generally outclassed by stronger options.
  • Lunox used to be the best tank in the game due to its taunt ability and massive HP pool. Unfortunately, high-level enemies now deal too much damage for Lunox to survive effectively.
  • Eclipse Knight was once one of the strongest monsters in the game. However, balance changes pushed it out of the current meta.
  • Lorra Blaze currently provides very little value compared to other monsters.

The Scythewing update significantly changed the Catch a Monster meta. New monsters like Scythewing and Draco Spike introduced stronger abilities and stats that pushed older monsters down the tier list. Right now, the best team compositions usually include Hydralopee for damage, Scythewing for support, and Cyber Frostworm for tanking.

This combination provides strong synergy and performs extremely well in Endless Spire and other high-level challenges. While the meta will likely continue to change with future updates, these three monsters currently dominate the game and are considered the strongest choices available.
