The process mainly involves farming a special item, defeating a boss multiple times, and completing a few requirements.
Where to Get Saber Alter
To begin the process, you need to travel to Boss Island. Once you arrive there, talk to the NPC that allows you to summon bosses. In the boss menu, you should see Saber Alter listed as one of the bosses you can summon. However, you cannot spawn the boss immediately because it requires a special item called the Dark Grail. You will need one Dark Grail every time you want to summon the boss.
How to Get Dark Grail
The Dark Grail is the key item required to spawn the Saber Alter boss. This item can drop from any NPC in the game, but the drop chance is fairly low. Because of that, the fastest way to farm it is by defeating large groups of enemies repeatedly. One of the recommended farming spots is Shinjuku Island, where players can defeat enemies quickly and continuously. A common strategy is to:
- Use a Luck build
- Equip skills with large AoE damage
- AFK farm enemies
Some players use abilities like Quake Fruit skills to automatically clear enemies while farming. After grinding for a while, you should start collecting Dark Grails. For example, after a few hours of farming, it is possible to gather hundreds of them.
Defeat the Saber Alter Boss
Once you have Dark Grails, return to Boss Island and start summoning the Saber Alter boss. You will need to defeat this boss many times because one of the requirements to unlock the spec is obtaining a special title called: Corrupt Tyrant! This title drops after defeating the boss multiple times, so expect to grind the fight repeatedly. If your build is strong enough to one-shot the boss, the process becomes much faster.
Unlock the Saber Alter Spec
After obtaining the Corrupt Tyrant title and the required materials, you can talk to the Saber NPC located near the boss area. If all requirements are completed, the NPC will allow you to craft the Saber Alter spec. Once crafted, the style will be added to your character. Interestingly, Saber Alter is classified as a melee spec, even though many players initially expect it to be a sword style.
How to Unlock the F Move
Saber Alter also has a powerful F Move, but it is not unlocked automatically. To obtain it, you must meet a special requirement that involves the Alter Clan. Steps to unlock the F Move:
- Obtain the Alter Clan
- Equip the clan
- Return to the crafting NPC
- Craft the upgrade
Once completed, you will unlock:
- The F Move ability
- 30% additional damage

Enchanting and Improving Saber Alter
1. Upgrade to B10
First, head to Shibuya Station and upgrade the spec to B10 enchant level. This increases the overall strength of the style.
2. Roll Passive Traits
Next, travel to Judgment Island and talk to the NPC named Kokushibo. Here you can spend Passive Shards to roll traits for your spec. Some traits give useful bonuses such as:
