Abyss Gate of Elves Guide: How to Unlock the Hidden Cave

A new secret location has appeared in the Abyss, and many players are already exploring it. This hidden area is known as the Gate of Elves, a cave system filled with quests, NPCs, and new equipment to discover. However, you cannot access this cave immediately. Before entering, you must complete a short quest chain in Gloomspore Valley. Once the quest is finished, the sealed gate will open and allow you to explore the hidden cave below. How to Unlock the Gate of Elves

To unlock the cave, travel to Gloomspore Valley, which is part of the newer Abyss biome. When you arrive in the area, look for the large mountain located near the center of the valley. Dive down and enter the mountain entrance. Inside, you will find an NPC called Spore Guardian standing near the gate. When you talk to the NPC, he will give you a quest called Feed the Guardian. The quest requires collecting several fish from the surrounding area.

Here are the required items:

• 4 Boxfish
• 4 Catfish
• 2 Stingray
• 2 Spore-mutated Fish

All of these fish can be found around Gloomspore Valley, so you do not need to travel far to complete the task.

Once you turn in the items, you will receive several rewards.

Quest Rewards

Completing the quest gives you the following rewards:

• $10,000 Money
• 20 Star Shards
• 2 Basic Oxygen Pods
• Gate of Elves Badge

After finishing the quest, the Gate of Elves located behind the NPC will slowly open, revealing the cave entrance below.

Important Things Before Entering the Cave

Before jumping into the cave, there are a few things you should know. The cave goes very deep, and once you drop down, there is no direct way to teleport back out. The only way to leave is by resetting your character.

Because of this, it is recommended to prepare your gear before entering. Make sure your oxygen equipment is ready and consider exploring during daytime in the game. The deeper parts of the cave become extremely dark, which can make navigation difficult.

What You Can Find Inside the Gate of Elves

The hidden cave contains several interesting discoveries including NPCs, quests, equipment, and a secret obstacle course.

George NPC

Near the upper section of the cave, you will encounter an NPC named George. He offers another quest that requires gathering multiple fish.

Quest requirements:

• 14 Boxfish
• 10 Catfish
• 7 Squid
• 5 Largemouth Bass

Completing this quest will likely provide additional rewards, though players are still exploring all the benefits.

Zaylen NPC

Another NPC located inside the cave is Zaylen. He acts as a vendor who sells two new pieces of equipment introduced in the update.

Items sold by Zaylen:

• Sporelung Tube – Costs $425,000
• Sporefang Gun – Costs $375,000

The Sporelung Tube is one of the new oxygen tubes added in the update and offers strong stats, making it a valuable upgrade for players exploring deeper areas.

Hidden Obby Behind the House

As you explore deeper into the cave, you will eventually find a small house. Many players overlook this location, but there is actually a secret path hidden behind it.

If you walk around the back of the house, you will discover a small obby (obstacle course).

The challenge itself is not extremely difficult, but it becomes harder when the cave is dark. Attempting the obby during daytime can make it easier to see the platforms and avoid mistakes.

Zareth NPC and the Rune Gate

At the end of the obstacle course, you will meet another NPC named Zareth. He stands near a large sealed gate.

Zareth asks players to bring him three Angelic Runes. Once you provide all three runes, he will unlock the massive gate behind him.

Based on the layout of the area and other update features, it is very likely that a powerful weapon is hidden behind this gate.

At the moment, the exact locations of the three Angelic Runes are still being investigated. Players exploring the biome should keep searching for clues and hidden paths.
