A fresh update has arrived in Fisch, bringing a new Apex fish called Dreadfin along with several gameplay adjustments. While this update is smaller compared to previous ones, it still introduces a few important changes that players should understand.
The update mainly focuses on the new Dreadfin Apex hunt, improvements to the Master Line system, and several balance adjustments for rods and equipment. There are also a few quality-of-life changes that make inventory management easier. Below is a full breakdown of everything added or changed in the latest update.
Dreadfin Location and How to Catch It
The biggest addition in this update is the Dreadfin, a new Apex fish that players can hunt. Dreadfin can appear near the Northern Expedition area. When it spawns, the event becomes a global hunt, meaning it appears across every server at the same time. However, there is still a limited number available, so players need to act quickly.
Dreadfin Fishing Details
If you want to catch it more efficiently, these conditions help:
- Preferred Bait: Shark Head
- Weather: Foggy
- Time: Night
Using the correct bait is especially important because Apex fish are harder to hook compared to normal catches. Visually, the Dreadfin looks like a dinosaur-style fish with a unique appearance. Some variants, such as Lucky Gold Dreadfin, can also appear.
Master Line Changes Explained
One of the most important mechanics affected in the update is the Master Line system.
With the Absolute Mastery reward, players can activate random rod passives while using the Master Line rod. These abilities rotate automatically after a certain time.
How Absolute Mastery Works
- Passives from different rods activate randomly
- Rod effects change every 5 minutes
- Multiple rod abilities can combine together
For example, the Master Line may temporarily activate abilities from rods like:
- Jack o Blazer Rod
- Wisdom Rod
- Ice Warper Rod
- Firefly Rod
- Peppermint Rod
Some rods are excluded from this system, especially rods with unusual mechanics or unique passives.
How to Unlock Absolute Mastery
Unlocking this feature is extremely difficult. Players must complete mastery for all 104 rods in the game. Once finished, the Master Line rod gains the ability to trigger random rod passives during fishing. Because of the large requirement, this system is considered an end-game reward.
Tryhard Rod Changes
The update also introduces adjustments to the Tryhard Rod.
Quest Requirement Changes
Previously, the quest required the Invincible enchant. Now it requires:
- Hasty enchant
Other Balance Changes
Several mechanics were adjusted:
- Slash attacks no longer stun fish
- Slash damage has been reduced
- Luck increased from 299 → 399
- Level requirement increased from 100 → 999
Players who previously had the Invincible enchant may receive an Imprinted Relic, which allows them to reuse the enchant on another rod if they want.
Equipment Bag Improvements
The equipment interface received several quality-of-life updates.
New Bait Sorting Options
Players can now sort bait based on:
- Amount owned
- Universal luck
- Other attributes
This makes it easier to find the best bait quickly.
Accessory Visibility Toggle
Accessories now use an eye icon for visibility.
- Eye open = item visible on your character
- Eye closed = item hidden visually
This feature allows players to keep the stat bonus without showing the item on their character.
Other Balance Changes
Several smaller adjustments were included in the update.
Chaotic Mutation Changes
- Multiplier reduced from 8x → 6.2x
- Mutation chance increased from 8% → 12%
Dusk Wire Rod Adjustments
The Dusk Wire rod also received several changes:
- Price increased from 500K → 1.75M
- Level requirement increased to 275
- Control stat reduced
The control stat is now partially locked, meaning additional control bonuses contribute more toward progress speed rather than direct control.
The Dreadfin update in Fisch focuses more on system improvements rather than large amounts of new content. Players can now hunt the new Apex fish Dreadfin, experiment with the updated Master Line abilities, and benefit from several quality-of-life improvements.
Although this update is relatively small, it sets the stage for upcoming content. Future updates are expected to introduce a new island and a major expansion called Wrath of Olympus, which could become one of the biggest updates the game has received.
