Recycler Guide in 99 Nights in the Forest, How to Use It?
Managing resources becomes more important the longer you survive in 99 Nights in the Forest. As players progress into the later stages of the game, it’s common to end up with extra materials that no longer have much use. Items like Forest Gems or duplicate resources can quickly fill your inventory and storage.
To solve this issue, the game introduces the Recycler, a machine designed to break down unwanted items and convert them into useful materials. Instead of letting resources sit unused, you can recycle them into items that help with crafting and upgrades. This guide explains how to unlock the Recycler and how it works once you have it inside your base.
How to Unlock the Recycler
The Recycler becomes available once you upgrade your Crafting Bench to Tier 5. Reaching this level unlocks several advanced machines that are useful for late-game progression. Some of the machines unlocked at Tier 5 include:
- Recycler
- Temporal Accelerometer
- Weather Machine
- Respawn Capsule
After upgrading the Crafting Bench, the Recycler will appear as a craftable machine. You will still need a few materials to build it.
Recycler Crafting Materials
To craft the Recycler, prepare the following resources:
- 40 Wood
- 40 Scrap
- 1 Forest Gem
Once crafted, the Recycler gives you a blueprint just like other buildable structures. You can place it anywhere inside your base where there is enough room for items to drop after processing.
How the Recycler Works
Using the Recycler is very straightforward. Walk up to the machine and drop the item you want to recycle onto the conveyor belt. After the item is placed on the belt:
- The item moves automatically into the machine.
- The Recycler crushes the item.
- New materials are produced and dropped on the ground near the machine.
Because the materials appear next to the Recycler, it is best to leave some empty space around it so you can easily collect the results. This system is especially helpful for players who already have more resources than they need during the late game.
Items You Can Recycle
The Recycler currently supports two main conversions.
Forest Gem → Cultist Gems
Dropping a Forest Gem onto the conveyor belt will turn it into multiple Cultist Gems. This is useful once Forest Gems become less valuable after crafting most Tier 5 machines.
Cultist Gem → Scrap
You can also recycle Cultist Gems to produce Scrap. Scrap is widely used in crafting, so this conversion helps keep your supply steady.
Why the Recycler is Useful
The Recycler gives players better control over their resources in 99 Nights in the Forest. Instead of letting extra materials take up inventory space, you can convert them into something more useful. For late-game players, this machine becomes an easy way to turn surplus gems into materials needed for crafting and base upgrades. Over time, it helps keep your inventory clean while ensuring that valuable resources never go to waste.
