7 Cursed Gear Day Starter Guide, Cursed Technique, Leveling, Class Location
Getting started in Cursed Gear can feel confusing at first. The game throws a lot of mechanics at you, from choosing your class to learning how cursed energy works during combat. If you understand the basics early, leveling becomes much faster and fights become much easier to win.
This Day 1 starter guide explains the core things every beginner should learn first. You will learn about the starting classes, how to use cursed techniques in combat, how stats work, and the fastest way to level up through expeditions.
1. Starter Classes in Cursed Gear

When you first enter the game, you will choose a class. Each class has a different playstyle, so picking one that matches how you want to fight is important.
Executioner
Executioner is a sword-based class focused on heavy damage and durability. It is a solid choice for players who like aggressive melee combat. The class has a triple strike ability, a strong guard break move that cannot be dodged, and powerful neutral attacks when trading hits with enemies. Because it deals strong damage while staying durable, it is one of the easier classes for beginners.
Manipulator
Manipulator plays more like a mage. Instead of focusing on close combat, this class uses ranged cursed techniques. You will have abilities similar to Red and Blue style attacks along with projectile-based moves. This class works best if you prefer fighting from a distance rather than rushing into melee fights.
Constructor
Constructor is another ranged class but plays very differently from Manipulator. Instead of staying far away, Constructor uses ranged abilities to set up melee combos. You attack from range first, then move in to continue the combo with basic attacks.
Projector
Projector is a fast fist-based class built around pressure and mobility. This class has multiple gap closers and double dash movement, allowing you to quickly chase enemies and keep attacking. If you enjoy fast-paced combat and constant pressure, Projector is a great option.
Ravager
Ravager is another fist-based class but focuses more on strong combo setups. It has a projectile attack, a sweeping move that leads into combos, an iframe dash, and a powerful grab that deals strong damage. Because of its balanced toolkit, Ravager is also a very popular class.
2. Understanding Your Stats
Stats determine how strong your character becomes as you progress. You can check them by sitting in the chair inside your academy area.
Each stat affects a different part of your build:
- Physicality – increases melee damage
- Durability – increases your health
- Output – increases cursed technique damage
- Efficiency – increases stamina capacity
- Awareness – increases posture damage and slightly improves Black Flash
- Dexterity – increases movement speed
Choosing the right stat distribution depends on your class. Melee classes benefit more from Physicality and Durability, while technique-heavy builds prefer Output and Efficiency.
3. How Cursed Energy Combat Works

Combat in Cursed Gear revolves around timing cursed energy with your attacks. If you press your cursed energy key at the same time as your basic attack (M1), it will hard stun the enemy. This creates openings for longer combos.
The same mechanic also works with heavy attacks (M2). Holding your heavy attack slightly delays the hit, creating a stronger stun that allows you to chain additional attacks. This timing mechanic is extremely important because missing it allows your opponent to parry or escape your combo.
4. Dodging, Dashing, and Parries
Movement mechanics are also important for surviving fights. Pressing Q gives you a short iframe dodge, which lets you avoid attacks if timed correctly. If you press E + Q, you perform a Cursed Dash, which is easier to use and has longer invincibility frames. However, it has slight end lag if you attack immediately after using it.
Parrying is done by pressing E + F. A successful parry drains your opponent’s stamina and can even guard break them if they are already low on stamina. Be careful when attempting parries though. Missing a parry leaves you in heavy end lag, making you vulnerable to attacks.
5. Practice Using Training Mode
Before jumping into real fights, it is worth practicing in the training area. The training dummy allows you to test combos, practice parries, and learn how your abilities work. You can even enable options like stun timers to see if your combos are true or not. Practicing cursed energy timing and combo chains here will make a huge difference when fighting real players or enemies.
6. Leveling Up Through Expeditions

The fastest way to level up in Cursed Gear is by completing expeditions. You can queue for expeditions through the mission pods located inside your academy area. Each expedition gives objectives such as:
- Destroying veils
- Finding hidden caches
- Defeating enemies
Caches are usually found by listening for a sound cue nearby. Opening them gives items, abilities, or resources. Some items can also be converted into Time, which works as the experience system in the game. You spend Time on your stats to level up and strengthen your character. Playing expeditions with a squad is usually better because you gain more experience and complete objectives faster.
7. Clan Tip for Faster Progression
Your clan also affects your progression speed. Common clans may look weak, but they actually provide a 25% experience bonus. Because of this, many players stay in a common clan while leveling and only reroll their clan later once their build is finished. This small bonus can make a big difference during early progression.
Cursed Gear has a lot of mechanics that may seem overwhelming at first, but the early game becomes much easier once you understand the core systems. Learning how cursed energy timing works, choosing the right class, and practicing your combos will greatly improve your performance. Focus on mastering the basics, run expeditions regularly, and upgrade your stats with the Time you collect. With enough practice, you will quickly move from a beginner player to someone capable of handling tougher missions and stronger enemies.
