Progression in Mashle Academy does not stop at leveling up or unlocking new magic. As players move deeper into the game, they eventually discover a hidden area called Hell. This location is important because it unlocks several powerful systems including Artifacts, Subraces, fast travel points, and even race upgrades.
Reaching this area is not simple. Players must explore a dangerous path, collect special keys, and defeat a difficult boss before gaining access. If you want to unlock stronger builds and new abilities, learning how to reach Hell is an important step. Step 1: Travel to Dundra
The first step begins in the Polar Cavern region. In this area, you will find a large sealed wall that blocks the path forward. To open this wall, you need to use a move with explosive power. Many magic abilities in the game have enough force to break it, but weaker attacks may not work.
Once the wall breaks, the hidden path behind it becomes accessible. After opening the wall, simply follow the path forward. This route will take you through several areas that eventually lead toward the next stage of the process.
Step 2: Reach the Valkyrie Area
After traveling through the hidden path, you will eventually reach a snowy section filled with Valkyrie enemies. Your goal here is to defeat these enemies until you collect four Frost Keys. These keys drop semi-regularly, so you may need to defeat several Valkyries before obtaining all four. Make sure to stay alert during these fights because the enemies in this area can deal heavy damage.
Step 3: Activate the Lever Puzzle
Once you collect the four Frost Keys, you will find two doors located on the left and right sides of the area. Behind these doors are two levers that must be pulled in order to unlock the main gate in the center. This step is easier with another player because each person can pull one lever.
The levers do not always need to be pulled at the exact same time, but coordinating with a friend makes the process safer. After activating both levers, return to the center area where the large gate will now be open.
Step 4: Insert the Frost Keys

Step 5: Defeat the Boss
The boss fight in this area is considered one of the more difficult encounters in Mashle Academy. The boss has several dangerous attacks, including:
- Triple Slash Combo – a fast melee attack chain
- Long Range Slash – a powerful attack that travels forward
- Jump Attack – the boss leaps toward players
At certain health levels, the boss will also summon additional enemies from the Dundra region. These can include strong creatures like Minotaurs or Wyverns, which makes the fight even harder. Because of this, learning the boss attack patterns and timing your blocks properly is very important. Once the boss is defeated, you will receive an important item called the Inferno Key.
Step 6: Unlock the Hell Area
After the fight ends, equip the Inferno Key from your inventory and hold it in your hand. Return to the back door of the room where you were teleported after the battle. With the Inferno Key equipped, interacting with the door will teleport you into the Hell area. This location becomes a new fast travel point, making it easier to revisit later.
Step 7: Access Subraces and Artifacts
Inside Hell, players gain access to two major systems.
Subraces
Press N to open the map and locate the Subrace NPC. The NPC is usually located to the right side of the first main entrance. Subraces modify your character’s abilities and can significantly change your build.
Artifact Forge
If you continue walking straight ahead, you will find the Forge where artifacts can be crafted. Artifacts are powerful equipment that provide special bonuses and effects, making them a valuable upgrade for late-game builds.
Bonus Reward: Crimson Heart
After defeating the boss earlier, you will also receive a Crimson Heart. This item allows you to evolve your race into Version 2 (V2). Once activated, your race gains additional features and abilities. For example, players using the Angel race will unlock a halo and new abilities once their race evolves.
Unlocking Hell in Mashle Academy opens the door to some of the game’s most powerful features. From crafting artifacts to unlocking subraces and evolving your race, this area plays a major role in late-game progression.
