Paradox offers several ways for players to progress, earn items, and improve their characters. While missions and ranked battles are common progression paths, there is another mode that focuses on survival and rewards players who can handle long combat encounters.

This mode is called Eternal Flames, a wave-based challenge that pushes players to survive against multiple waves of enemies. Besides testing your combat skills, this mode also gives players a chance to obtain valuable loot and special items. If you want to farm rewards or test your build against stronger enemies, Eternal Flames can be a useful activity in Paradox.

What is Eternal Flames Mode?

Eternal Flames is a wave survival mode where players fight against continuous waves of enemies. The goal is simple: survive as long as possible while defeating incoming enemies and bosses. The mode contains 50 total waves, and each wave becomes more difficult as stronger enemies appear.

Unlike normal missions, Eternal Flames focuses on endurance. Players must carefully manage their abilities, positioning, and survival to reach the highest waves. This mode is often used by players who want to farm rare drops or challenge their character builds.

How the Wave System Works

The Eternal Flames challenge runs through a fixed wave system. Here is how the rewards are distributed during the run:

  • Every 5 Waves: Shared loot appears for all players participating in the run.
  • Every 10 Waves: Players receive an automatic bonus reward.

This means players will constantly receive rewards as they progress deeper into the challenge. However, the enemies also become stronger with each wave, so reaching the final waves requires strong builds and good teamwork.

Eternal Flame Modifiers

To make the mode more challenging, Eternal Flames can apply different modifiers. These modifiers change how the game behaves and can increase or decrease difficulty. Here are some of the possible modifiers:

  • No Specials (x0.50) This modifier disables all special abilities, forcing players to rely only on basic skills and combat mechanics.
  • All Corrupt (x0.15) All NPC enemies become corrupted, which makes them stronger and more dangerous.
  • Double NPC Health (x1.75) Enemies will have double the normal health, making fights last longer and requiring more damage output.
  • No Health Packs (x0.35) Healing items will not spawn during the challenge, meaning players must rely on defensive play and survival strategies.
  • No Skills (x2.00) Players are unable to use skills at all, making the challenge extremely difficult since combat relies only on basic attacks.
  • Double Bosses (x1.00) Instead of one boss appearing during the boss waves, two bosses will spawn at wave 10, increasing the difficulty significantly.

These modifiers can change the strategy players need to use during the run.

Possible Eternal Flames Rewards

One of the biggest reasons players participate in Eternal Flames is the potential loot. Several useful items can drop while playing this mode. Some of the possible rewards include:

  • Hōgyoku Fragment
  • Mask Remnant
  • Various reroll items
  • Many accessories available in the game

In addition, there is also a secret mythical reward that can appear if players successfully complete wave 50. Because of these rewards, many players use Eternal Flames as a farming method for rare items.

Eternal Flames is one of the more challenging activities available in Paradox. With 50 waves of enemies, special modifiers, and valuable rewards, the mode offers both difficulty and strong incentives for players willing to test their skills.

Whether you want to farm rare items, challenge your build, or simply experience intense combat, Eternal Flames provides a different type of gameplay compared to regular missions. Players who can survive the later waves may walk away with some of the most valuable rewards in the game.
