What is the Ten Shadows Technique in Kaizen?
Ten Shadows is a cursed technique focused on summoning shikigami to fight alongside you. Unlike many other techniques that rely on simple attacks or combos, this one creates a more strategic playstyle.
Each ability summons a different creature that performs unique attacks or assists during combat. These summons can deal damage, control enemies, or support you during longer fights. The technique has five total abilities, but the final one requires extra work to unlock.
How to Unlock Ten Shadows
To start using Ten Shadows, players need to obtain the cursed technique through the normal spin system in Kaizen. Once you get it, the abilities will unlock through mastery progression like most other techniques in the game. As you use the technique in combat, your mastery level increases and new skills become available. The final ability, however, requires additional steps beyond mastery.
Ten Shadows Abilities Explained

Each skill within Ten Shadows summons a different shikigami that helps during combat.
Great Serpent
Great Serpent is the first ability players unlock with Ten Shadows. This move summons a snake that attacks the target instantly. The skill also has a variation that bites the enemy and temporarily immobilizes them before dealing another hit.
- Around 570 damage
- Fast 7-second cooldown
- Good range
- Useful for starting fights or stopping enemy movement
Because of its quick cooldown and control effect, Great Serpent is a reliable opening skill.
Divine Dogs
Divine Dogs summon two shikigami wolves that fight alongside the player. These dogs automatically attack nearby enemies and remain active for about two minutes unless defeated.
- Each dog has over 3,000 health
- Automatically targets enemies
- Constantly deals damage during fights
Divine Dogs are extremely useful for farming enemies since they continue fighting even while you move or use other abilities.
Max Elephant
Max Elephant summons a large shikigami that deals damage on impact and continues dealing damage over time.
- Around 1,100 total damage
- Area damage
- Roughly 15-second cooldown
This skill is effective for groups of enemies and works well during raids.
Bird Shikigami
The fourth skill summons a flying shikigami that attacks a large area with multiple hits.
- Around 1,800 damage
- Large attack radius
- Approximately 30-second cooldown
Because of its high damage and large range, this skill is great for damaging bosses or clearing groups of enemies quickly.
How to Unlock Mahoraga

Mahoraga is the final ability of the Ten Shadows technique. Unlike the other skills, it cannot be unlocked through mastery alone. Players must collect special items from the new raid. Steps to unlock Mahoraga:
- Visit Megumi NPC in the new update map.
- Collect 10 Chant Fragments.
- Obtain these fragments from the new raid mode.
- Give the fragments to Megumi to unlock the Mahoraga ability.
After completing this requirement, players will gain access to one of the strongest summons in the game.
The Ten Shadows technique is one of the biggest highlights of the Kaizen update. With several powerful summons and a unique combat style, it offers a fresh way to play the game compared to traditional cursed techniques. While unlocking Mahoraga requires some grinding, the reward is definitely worth the effort. Once fully mastered, Ten Shadows becomes a powerful option for players who want both strong damage and reliable support during combat.
