A new area has finally arrived in Fisch, and it brings several mechanics that feel very different from the rest of the game. The Everturn Forest update adds a brand-new island, seasonal fish, special quests, and unique fishing rods that change how you play. Because the island works differently depending on time and seasons, many players are confused about what to do first. If you want to unlock the new rods, complete the quests, and understand the island mechanics, this guide will walk you through everything in the Everturn Forest update step by step. Where to Find Everturn Forest
The new Everturn Forest island is located between several familiar locations. If you look on the map, you will find it positioned between Moosewood, Castaway Cliff, and Mush Grove.
Once you sail toward the island, you will notice something unusual. The island changes depending on the time of day and even the season. For example, if you arrive at night, the location will appear as Everturn Forest (Night).
This dynamic system is one of the main features of the update. However, the island is not completely safe. You will see creatures called Oaklings roaming around the forest. These enemies glow with a red aura and will immediately attack once they notice you. Early on, this can make fishing difficult because they constantly interrupt you. Fortunately, later quests will unlock items that help prevent these attacks.
First Quest: Catch 5 Unique Everturn Fish
The first NPC you should talk to is Thalor Virewood. He will give you the starting quest, which asks you to catch five unique fish in Everturn Forest. The task is simple:
- Start fishing anywhere around the island.
- Catch five different fish species from the Everturn area.
- Return to Thallor to complete the quest.
Before you begin fishing, it is also recommended to talk to another NPC nearby named Brindle Oakshade.
Brindle gives a side quest that asks you to catch an Oakling, which is considered the secret fish of this region. This fish is very rare, so it may take time to find. Picking up the quest early ensures you don’t accidentally miss it.
Second Quest: Perfect Catch 5 Fish at Night
After finishing the first quest, Thallor will give you the next challenge. You must perform five perfect catches during nighttime in Everturn Forest.
This part can be tricky because Oaklings will still attack you while you are fishing. If you have a strong rod such as the Plague Reaver, the challenge becomes much easier. Otherwise, you may need to try several times.
Once you complete the five perfect catches, return to Thallor again.
Your reward will be the Everturn Cloak.
Everturn Cloak Effect
The Everturn Cloak reduces the chance of Oaklings attacking you. After equipping it, the enemies will mostly ignore you, making fishing much more comfortable on the island.
How to Get the Split Branch Twig Rod
After unlocking the cloak, the next quest requires you to catch a special sturgeon variant. To do that, you must first obtain a new rod.
Head to the dock area where the ship is located. Climb the nearby rock and look for an item on the ground called the Split Branch Twig Rod.
Price: 25,000 Coins
Split Branch Twig Rod Stats
- Lure Speed: 85%
- Luck: 100%
- Control: -0.1
- Resilience: 45%
- Max Weight: 10,000 kg
This rod has a special passive ability that lets you choose between two possible fish when casting.
More importantly, it can apply the Rotting Mutation, which is required for the next quest.
Sturgeon Quest Explained
The quest may look confusing because it lists several different fish options:
- Rotting Glacier Sear Sturgeon
- Flora Sear Sturgeon
- Solar Sear Sturgeon
- Umbra Leaf Sturgeon
Many players think they must catch all of them, but that is not true.
You only need to catch one of them.
Each sturgeon appears during different seasons, so the easiest one to catch depends on the current season in your server.
For example:
- Winter → Glacier Sear Sturgeon
Once you catch the correct mutated sturgeon using the Split Branch Twig rod, return it to Thallor to finish the quest.
Unlocking the Spirit of the Forest Rod
After completing the sturgeon quest, you unlock a powerful new rod called the Spirit of the Forest.
Spirit of the Forest Rod Stats
- Lure Speed: 40%
- Luck: 70%
- Control: -0.02
- Resilience: 10%
- Max Weight: Infinite
This rod is very different from others because it contains five seasonal spirits:
- Autumn Spirit – boosts control
- Spring Spirit – increases lure speed
- Night Spirit – increases progress speed
- Winter Spirit – boosts resilience
- Summer Spirit – increases luck
Each time you catch a fish, there is a 5% chance to level up the spirit connected to the current season.
For example:
- During winter, the Winter Spirit levels up and increases resilience.
- During summer, the Summer Spirit levels up and increases luck.
As you continue fishing, the rod becomes stronger. When fully upgraded, the spirits will appear floating around your character, giving the rod a unique visual effect.
Secret Reward: Oakling Lantern
If you manage to complete Brindle Oakshade’s side quest and return an Oakling, you will receive a special lantern item. This lantern acts as a cosmetic reward tied to the Everturn Forest storyline.
The Everturn Forest update adds a lot of new content to Fisch, including quests, seasonal mechanics, enemies, and two unique rods. While the island may feel confusing at first, the main progression path is actually simple: complete Thallor’s quests, unlock the cloak, obtain the Split Branch Twig rod, and finish the sturgeon task to unlock the Spirit of the Forest rod.
Because the island changes based on time and season, it also gives players a reason to return regularly. Once you fully upgrade the Spirit of the Forest rod, it becomes one of the most interesting tools in the game, especially with the seasonal spirit system. If you plan to farm Everturn fish or complete all the new content, this island will likely become one of your main fishing spots in Fisch.
