Surviving in Bridger Western is not only about using guns. The game also includes many items and utilities that can help you fight enemies, survive encounters, or escape dangerous situations. Some items are useful for combat, while others provide protection, healing, or special abilities.
One important rule players must remember is that you can only carry three utilities at the same time. If you pick up or buy another utility after reaching the limit, the new one will replace one of your existing utilities.
Because of this, choosing the right utilities for your playstyle becomes very important. Below is a complete guide to all items and utilities currently available in Bridger Western.
1. Ammo Box & Silver Ammo
Ammo Boxes are used to refill ammunition for your weapons. The amount you receive depends on the weapon type:
- Revolvers: +30 ammo
- Shotguns: +10 ammo
There is also a maximum limit for reserve ammo, so you cannot stack unlimited bullets.
Silver Ammo works differently. Instead of giving extra ammo, it makes your next shots deal silver damage, which is especially effective against vampires. Silver ammo packs remain saved even after death or leaving the game.
If you have the Silver Prodigy card, you will spawn with one extra silver ammo pack each life.
2. Knives
Knives are cheap weapons that can be purchased in many areas around the map. They allow players to fight in close combat and are useful when you run out of ammunition. With the Total Checkmate card, players can also use a special right-click attack. Vampires can perform this move for free.
3. Tonic
Tonic works as a healing item. When used, it restores a small amount of health. However, drinking too many tonics quickly will cause side effects. Your screen will slowly become blurry, and after 4–5 drinks, your character will pass out.
4. Poncho
The Poncho is both cosmetic and functional. Effects of the Poncho:
- Reduces overall damage taken
- Increases limb damage received
It also comes in many color and design variations, with more customization expected in future updates.
5. Cowboy Hat
The Cowboy Hat offers a simple but useful defensive benefit. It protects you from one headshot, which can sometimes save your life in gunfights.
6. Lasso
The Lasso is used to capture or restrain enemies. Hold the throw button to increase the distance before releasing it. Once a player is caught, they will need to use a special escape UI mechanic to break free.
7. Dogbane Herb
Dogbane Herb is a rare item with a 4% drop chance from chests earned during encounters. This herb can be brought to the Mud Witch in the swamp, where it can be exchanged for:
- 2500 Moola
- Age regression (-20 years)
- Stand removal
The age reduction cannot go below 18 years old, so using the herb again after that will have no effect.
8. Silver Dagger
The Silver Dagger can drop from chests, though the exact drop rate is currently unknown. It acts as a strong anti-vampire weapon.
Key features:
- Base damage: 8 per swing
- Deals double damage to vampires
- Leaves silver fire on vampires
- Uses stamina when attacking
The dagger also has a grab attack that deals around 28 total damage before pushing the enemy away. Damage can increase with certain cards such as:
- Silver Prodigy
- Boy With Fists
9. Arrow Pack
Arrow Packs are used for bow users. Each pack provides 5 arrows, allowing players to continue fighting with ranged weapons.
10. Wooden Stake
The Wooden Stake is another weapon designed to fight vampires. When used on a vampire, the stake remains stuck in the target for about 10 seconds, burning them until they remove it. Against humans, it deals very low damage.
11. Steel Wireset
The Steel Wireset is purchased from Jim at the Outlaw Camp. To use it:
- Click to place the starting point.
- Click again to send the wire toward your cursor.
With the Silver Wireset card, the wires can also apply silver burn to vampires. There is also a special right-click ability unlocked with the Twenty Meter Radius Steel card.
12. Molotov
Molotovs are throwable explosives that create fire upon impact. They are useful for area control and dealing damage to enemies in groups.
13. Smoke Bomb
Smoke Bombs create a smoke screen where they land. The smoke can spread depending on how the bomb is thrown. A special interaction exists between smoke bombs and molotovs. Throwing one into the other can create a large explosion.
14. Dynamite
Dynamite is a powerful explosive weapon.
Features include:
- Explodes after a short delay
- Can be lassoed and moved
- Outlaws can throw 2 dynamites at Tier 2 and 3 dynamites at Tier 3
Throw options:
- Left Click: Long throw
- Right Click: Short throw
15. Coin
The Coin is a unique mechanic inspired by trick-shot gameplay.
When used:
- Toss the coin into the air (costs 10 Moola)
- Shoot the coin while it glimmers
- The shot will ricochet to the nearest target
If you have the Coin Roller card, the attack can sometimes turn into an explosion. Picking the coin back up will return the 10 Moola.
16. Lantern
The Lantern provides light in dark areas. Players can toggle it on or off with a click. When unequipped, the lantern will automatically attach to your character’s waist, allowing you to keep moving without holding it.
Items and utilities play a major role in how you survive and fight in Bridger Western. From defensive gear like the Cowboy Hat to powerful tools like Dynamite or the Silver Dagger, each item offers a different advantage depending on the situation. Since you can only carry three utilities at once, it is important to choose carefully based on your playstyle. Whether you focus on combat, survival, or hunting vampires, the right utilities can give you a strong edge during encounters.
