Surviving a chase in Bite by Night is not just about running away. Players who know how to loop properly can waste a killer’s time for a long period, giving their teammates more time to finish objectives. Many players try looping but end up getting caught quickly because they make small mistakes with movement, stamina, or positioning.
If you want to stay alive longer during chases, learning how to loop properly is one of the most important skills. This guide explains the main looping techniques, stamina management tips, and strategies you can use to escape killers more consistently in Bite by Night. 1. Hug Walls When Looping
One of the most important things to remember while looping is to stay close to walls or objects. Running tightly around corners allows you to travel a shorter distance compared to the killer. This gives you a small advantage because killers usually take wider turns while chasing. Benefits of hugging walls include:
- You move through the loop faster
- You waste less stamina
- The killer has to travel further to catch you
However, do not stay too tight when the killer is extremely close. In some situations, they can still hit you through the corner. Try to balance tight movement with a little space when needed.
2. Use Doors the Right Way
Doors are one of the most useful tools during a chase, but many players use them incorrectly. A common mistake is letting the killer hit the barricaded door until it breaks. When this happens, the killer often gets a free hit. Instead, follow this method:
- Barricade the door.
- Let the killer hit the door once or twice.
- Open the door again to stun the killer.
This short stun creates distance and helps you move to the next loop safely.
3. Know When to Leave a Loop
A lot of players die because they stay in the same loop for too long. Sometimes the best option is to leave the loop early and move to another structure. This is especially important when:
- The killer places anti-loop tools or traps
- The killer is regenerating stamina
- The loop becomes unsafe
If you move early, you can chain multiple loops together and extend the chase much longer.
4. Manage Your Stamina Carefully
Stamina is one of the most important resources during a chase. Running constantly will quickly drain it, leaving you vulnerable. A good trick is to walk whenever it is safe. For example:
- If the killer is far away, walk
- If the killer is walking, you should also walk
- Only sprint when necessary
Many experienced players walk during around 30% of their chases to keep stamina available for emergencies.
5. Using Doors to Recover Stamina
Another helpful trick involves using doors to recover stamina. If your stamina is almost empty while looping:
- Leave the loop before it fully drains.
- Run toward a nearby door.
- Barricade the door.
Barricading a door restores stamina, allowing you to run to another loop immediately. This technique lets you rotate between loops and survive longer chases.
6. Countering Specific Killers
Different killers require different reactions. Here are a few useful examples.
Springtrap
When Springtrap pulls out his axe:
- Avoid running in a straight line
- Move to the opposite side of the loop
- Crouch behind objects if possible
Many players miss their attack when you hide or change direction.
Mimic / Project Killer
When this killer uses the drill ability:
- Walk away instead of sprinting
- Listen to the sound to track their position
- Predict when they will come out of the ground
Even if you walk, they may still hit you if you stay too close, so creating distance is important.
7. Utility and Fighter Playstyle
Some players prefer running the Fighter utility, which gives extra defensive options like parry or swing. These abilities should only be used in certain moments:
- When your stamina is low
- When the killer is about to catch you
Using them too early can waste your only chance to escape.
Looping is a skill that improves with experience. At first it may feel overwhelming because you need to manage movement, stamina, doors, and killer abilities at the same time. The more chases you experience, the better your decision-making will become. Over time you will learn when to stay in a loop, when to rotate, and how to read the killer’s movement. With practice, you will be able to waste the killer’s time much longer and help your team win more matches in Bite by Night.
