However, clearing it is not easy. The area is filled with radiation, waves of enemies, and even a boss that can deal heavy damage. Before attempting the reactor, you need to prepare properly.
Entering the radioactive zone without protection will slowly drain your health, and the enemies inside the reactor can overwhelm unprepared players very quickly. This guide explains how to reach the Nuclear Reactor, what items you need before entering the radioactive zone, and how to clear all enemy waves to claim the rewards.
Find the Radioactive Zone
The Nuclear Reactor is located inside the Radioactive Zone. In many runs, this area appears toward the bottom-right part of the map. If you want to confirm the location quickly, you can craft a Map using scrap materials. Once placed, the map helps you identify important areas on the map, including the radioactive region. However, entering this zone without protection is risky because radiation will slowly damage your character.
Get a Gas Mask First
Before going into the radioactive zone, it is strongly recommended that you get a Gas Mask. Without one, you will slowly lose health while inside the radiation area. While it is technically possible to run through the zone using bandages to heal, this method is risky and not ideal for clearing the reactor. There are several ways to obtain a Gas Mask:
- Defeat radioactive enemies in the radioactive zone
- Find it inside regular crates
- Possibly buy it from the merchant if it appears in their shop
- Sometimes it may appear in barrels or loot containers
Once you equip the Gas Mask, you can explore the radioactive area without taking radiation damage.
Locate the Nuclear Reactor
After entering the radioactive zone, start looking for a large power plant structure. This building is the Nuclear Reactor. The area around it is usually filled with enemies, so clearing them before entering can make the next steps easier. Some players use tools like airstrikes or strong weapons to remove enemies quickly before going inside.
Prepare Before Entering
Before opening the reactor, make sure you are ready for combat. The reactor contains multiple enemy waves and can become chaotic if you are underprepared. Recommended preparation:
- Bring strong weapons such as an LMG
- Carry a lot of ammo
- Bring grenades or explosives
- Use airstrikes or attack orders if available
- Make sure your health items are ready
Many players prefer clearing the reactor during daytime so they can avoid night dangers while fighting.
Clear the Enemy Waves
Once inside the reactor, the main objective is simple: eliminate all enemies. However, the fight happens in several waves:
First Wave
The first group of enemies will spawn immediately after entering the reactor. These are usually standard enemies and can be cleared with automatic weapons.
Second Wave
After defeating the first wave, another group of enemies will appear. This wave is usually larger and may require grenades or heavy weapons to handle quickly.
Third Wave and Boss
The final wave includes stronger enemies and a boss enemy. The boss can deal heavy damage and some enemies may have special abilities like stunning attacks, so focus on eliminating dangerous enemies first. Once the boss is defeated and all enemies are gone, the reactor will officially be cleared.
Claim the Reactor Rewards
After clearing the reactor, a reward area opens below the facility. Inside this area, you can open multiple loot crates containing valuable items such as:
- Nuclear Fuel
- Weapons like the Flamethrower
- Landmines
- Batteries
- Nuclear Components
- Other rare resources
Some items, such as nuclear components, can even be converted into large amounts of scrap.
The Nuclear Reactor does not stay cleared permanently. After completion, it will reset after about 15 minutes, allowing players to return and clear it again for more rewards.
