Best Horses Bridger Western Guide, How to Get the Strongest Mount!
Having a good horse in Bridger Western makes traveling across the map much easier. Since the game world is quite large, moving quickly between locations becomes very important, especially when completing missions, exploring towns, or fighting enemies.
Because of this, most players try to obtain a strong horse as early as possible. While every player starts with a basic mule, it is only meant for early gameplay and should be replaced once you have enough money. In this guide, we will explain how to get horses in Bridger Western, how the horse system works, and how to find the best horses in the game.
How to Get a Horse in Bridger Western
To unlock permanent horses, players must first reach Tier 3 with their character. Once you reach this tier, you can speak with the Horse Stable NPC, who will offer you a random horse for sale. The price of these horses usually ranges between 150 Moola and 1,500 Moola, depending on the quality and stats.
Before buying a horse, you can check its stats to see whether it is worth the price. If you are not satisfied with the horse being offered, you can reroll the selection by paying 20 Moola.
Temporary Horses
Players who have not reached Tier 3 can still use a temporary horse. You can rent a horse from a stable for 200 Moola, but this horse will eventually disappear. Once it despawns, you must pay another 200 Moola if you want to use another temporary horse.
Stable locations may vary depending on whether your character is an Outlaw or an Inlaw, so you may need to explore different towns to find them.
What Makes a Horse Good?
The best horses in Bridger Western usually have a strong balance between speed and stamina. A horse with very high speed but extremely low stamina may run fast at first but will tire out quickly, making it difficult to control. Because of this, players should aim for horses that have a balanced stat distribution rather than focusing on only one stat.
How to Get the Best Horses
If you are trying to obtain a powerful horse, a simple rule is to look for horses that cost around 800 Moola or more. When talking to the Horse Stable NPC, the horse selection is completely random. Because of this system, there is always a chance to receive Legendary or Mythical horses.
You can easily identify these rare horses because their names appear in all capital letters.
However, rarity alone does not always mean the horse is strong. If a Legendary or Mythical horse still costs a low amount of Moola, its base stats will likely be weaker. In most cases, higher prices usually mean better stats.
Horse Stats Explained
Every horse in Bridger Western has randomly generated stats. Rare horses such as Legendary and Mythical versions receive extra stat boosts.
- Legendary Horses receive 1 extra stat bonus
- Mythical Horses receive 2 extra stat bonuses
Here are the main stats that horses can have:
- Speed
- Stamina
- Jump
- Damage
- Scale
- Turn
Most of these stats affect how the horse behaves while riding. Since horse movement in the game uses momentum, weak stats can make the horse harder to control. Players can check their horse’s stats at any time by pressing the M key. Normally, stats reach a maximum value of 1.25, but Legendary and Mythical horses can exceed this limit.
How to Summon Your Horse
Every player begins the game with a mule, which can be summoned by pressing the H key. After summoning it, press N to mount and start riding. This same system is used for every horse in the game, including temporary and permanent ones.
Since the mule has very poor stats, it should only be used during the early stages of the game. Once you earn enough Moola, renting a temporary horse is a good upgrade until you reach Tier 3 and can purchase a permanent mount.
Horses are one of the most important tools for traveling in Bridger Western. While every player begins with a mule, upgrading to a stronger horse will greatly improve your movement and overall gameplay experience.
Reaching Tier 3 and saving enough Moola is the best way to unlock stronger horses. Once you start rerolling horse offers from the stable NPC, you will eventually find a mount with strong stats or even a Legendary or Mythical rarity horse. If you want to earn more Moola quickly, activities like fishing can help you gather extra money while also providing temporary buffs that make gameplay easier.
