How to Access the Reishi Zone in Paradox
Before you can enter the Reishi Zone, there are a couple of requirements you need to meet. Your character must have at least 705 Potential and 30,000 Yen. Once you reach that point, head toward the cave near the Eternal Flame.
There, you’ll find an NPC called Mr. Goblin. Talk to him to obtain a Reishi Zone Ticket, which acts as your entry pass. If you’re playing with a group, only one player needs the ticket—everyone else in the party will be pulled into the zone automatically.
What Happens Inside the Reishi Zone
Once inside, the main objective is not immediately fighting a boss. Instead, you’ll need to locate and activate four corrupted pylons scattered across the area. The environment itself is dangerous. Acid rain constantly falls and deals heavy damage if you’re not standing within the safe radius of an activated pylon. This forces you to stay aware of positioning at all times.
Each time you activate a pylon, a combat challenge begins. You must defend the area and defeat waves of enemies. There’s also an option to “overcharge” the pylon, which increases difficulty but improves the quality of rewards later. After all four pylons are completed, a key appears that guides you to one of the bosses. Defeating that boss ends the run and gives you your loot.
All Reishi Zone Bosses and How to Beat Them
After completing the pylons, you’ll face one of three bosses at random. Each one has a different mechanic, so knowing how they work will save you a lot of time.
1. Canthor
Canthor is not difficult mechanically, but the fight can drag on if you don’t understand the core mechanic. He summons angelic minions during battle, and while they are alive, he cannot be damaged.
Your priority should always be eliminating these minions as quickly as possible. If you ignore them, Canthor will absorb them and recover health, making the fight longer. Clear the adds fast, then switch back to dealing damage to the boss.
2. Headless King
The Headless King is more skill-based and requires good timing. You won’t be able to brute-force this fight easily. The key is to parry his attacks repeatedly to drain his stamina. Once he becomes exhausted, his color changes slightly, signaling a short damage window. During this phase, you should deal as much burst damage as possible before he recovers. This fight follows a cycle—parry, exhaust, attack, then repeat until he goes down.
3. String Master
The String Master punishes careless play. His attacks are telegraphed, but if you fail to dodge or parry them, he can disable parts of your character, slowing you down significantly. The safest approach is to stay mobile and avoid overcommitting. Watch his attack patterns closely, reposition often, and strike during openings. A patient playstyle works much better here than rushing in.
