A Universal Time 5.6 Guide: How to Get Aizen & Kurosaki Ichigo

Update 5.6 in A Universal Time brings a major crossover with Bleach, introducing new abilities, bosses, and a full progression system tied to Spiritual Pressure. The highlight of this update is unlocking Ichigo Kurosaki and Sousuke Aizen, two powerful legendary abilities that completely change how you approach combat.

Alongside them, players also get a new common ability, a raid boss, and fresh areas like Soul Society and Hueco Mundo. If you’re aiming to unlock everything efficiently, understanding the process early will save you a lot of time. Also check out our A Universal Time Codes for more rewards!

Ichigo Kurosaki Ability Guide

Ichigo arrives as a Legendary ability, focused on aggressive combat and fast, high-damage attacks. His playstyle revolves around overwhelming enemies with strong moves like Getsuga Tensho and activating Bankai for burst damage.

How to Get Ichigo

The obtainment process is tied to a quest system: First, you need to find the Dying Soul Reaper, an NPC that spawns randomly in Soul Society. Interacting with this NPC will start your quest. Once accepted, you’ll receive a temporary ability that allows you to fight special enemies. From here, the challenge begins:

  • You must locate an Intruding Hueco
  • Defeat it while dealing the highest damage
  • You remain combat tagged the entire time

If you die during this fight, you lose both the quest and the temporary ability. However, if you succeed and deal the most damage, you’ll unlock the ability permanently.

How to Unlock Ichigo Bankai

Unlocking Bankai adds another layer of power to Ichigo, making him significantly stronger. To get Bankai, you need:

  • Tenshintai item (dropped from Ichigo raid boss)
  • Ascension Level 5+
  • Spiritual Level 6+

Once you meet these requirements, using the Tenshintai will unlock Ichigo’s Bankai form, allowing you to deal faster and more destructive attacks.

Aizen Ability Guide

Sousuke Aizen is also a Legendary ability, but his playstyle focuses more on control, illusions, and advanced abilities. He uses powers like Kyoka Suigetsu to confuse enemies and Hado techniques to dominate fights.

How to Get Aizen

Interestingly, Aizen shares the same obtainment method as Ichigo:

  • Find the Dying Soul Reaper
  • Accept the quest
  • Use the temporary ability
  • Defeat an Intruding Hueco with the highest damage

The same rules apply—dying resets your progress, so you’ll need to be careful during the fight.

Hogyoku Progression (Aizen Mastery)

Aizen’s true strength comes from the Hogyoku system, which unlocks stronger forms over time.

Requirements:

  • Spiritual Pressure Level 10

To progress:

  • Use a Hogyoku Resonance item to gain mastery points
  • Every two mastery levels unlocks a survival challenge (called a window)

During these windows:

  • You must stay alive for a set duration
  • You cannot leave or die
  • Other players can hunt you due to a bounty system

If you survive, you unlock stronger Hogyoku forms:

  • Mastery 2 → Form 1
  • Mastery 4 → Form 2
  • Mastery 6 → Form 3

This system is high risk but offers some of the strongest upgrades in the update.

Hueco Ability (Bonus Unlock)

The update also introduces Hueco, a common ability that’s much easier to get.

To unlock it:

  • Find the Dying Soul Reaper
  • Accept the quest
  • Locate an Intruding Hueco
  • Instead of defeating it, let it kill you

After dying, you’ll respawn in Hueco Mundo and gain the Hueco ability.

Ichigo Raid Boss and Drops

A new Ichigo Kurosaki raid boss has been added, and it plays a key role in progression.

Spawn Details:

  • Spawns every hour in Hueco Mundo

Drops:

  • Tenshintai (30%) – Required for Ichigo Bankai
  • Hogyoku Resonance (70%) – Used for Aizen mastery

Farming this boss is essential if you want to fully upgrade both abilities.

Spiritual Pressure System Explained

Both Ichigo and Aizen rely on the new Spiritual Pressure progression system.

You can level it up by:

  • Killing 5 players using Bleach abilities (1 level)
  • Using a Spiritual Pressure Ticket

Key Bonuses:

  • Level 3 → Longer hitbox duration
  • Level 5 → Pull effect on enemies
  • Level 8 → Reduced requirements
  • Level 10 → Adds soft ragdoll effect

This system directly boosts your combat performance, so leveling it up should be a priority.

New Map Changes and Locations

Update 5.6 also expands the map with new areas:

  • Soul Society – Main quest and NPC area
  • Hueco Mundo – Boss fights and progression
  • Karakura Town – Additional exploration zone

You can access these areas through the Garganta, making it easier to move between locations.

Update 5.6 is one of the more content-heavy updates in A Universal Time, especially if you’re a fan of Bleach. Unlocking Ichigo and Aizen requires effort, but both abilities offer powerful gameplay styles that are worth the grind. Between boss farming, survival challenges, and Spiritual Pressure progression, there’s a lot to work toward. If you stay consistent and focus on the key systems, you’ll be able to unlock and upgrade everything this update has to offer.
