Update 3.5 in Anime Reversal brings a massive wave of content, and one of the biggest highlights is the arrival of Gilgamesh and his evolved form, Gilgamesh Emperor. Alongside him, players also get new events, units, and generous reroll rewards, making this update one of the most rewarding so far. If you’re aiming to unlock and evolve Gilgamesh efficiently, this guide breaks down everything step by step, including farming tips and what to expect along the way. Step 1: Unlock Gilgamesh

To start, you’ll need to obtain Gilgamesh through the event banner or related content. Fortunately, the drop rates are fairly reasonable, and many players manage to get him without spending too many rerolls. Once you unlock him:

  • You can start progressing his questline
  • Additional requirements will appear for evolution

Even if you get him early, keep in mind that this is only the beginning of the grind.

Step 2: Farm Gilgamesh Castle (Core Materials)

Anime Reversal Update 3.5 How to Get Gilgamesh Emperor Guide

The main farming stage is Gilgamesh Castle, which contains around 30 waves.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Early waves are very easy (around 25,000 HP enemies)
  • Later waves scale up significantly (bosses reaching millions of HP)
  • Most players can solo it thanks to strong units and reroll access

Key drops include:

  • Copy Swords
  • Grail Shards
  • Event materials needed for evolution

You’ll need to repeat this stage multiple times, so having a strong and efficient team is important.

Step 3: Complete Gilgamesh Quest Requirements

After unlocking Gilgamesh, you’ll need to complete several objectives before evolving him:

  • Collect 650 Grail Shards
  • Obtain 10 Gilgamesh Castle drops
  • Get the King Crown
  • Perform required sacrifices (usually Mythical units)
  • Clear multiple event stages

One important detail: progress from earlier runs may not always count toward the quest, so make sure you’re tracking it properly after unlocking him.

Step 4: Obtain the King Crown

The King Crown is one of the hardest items to get.

  • It drops randomly from event stages
  • There is a soft pity system (around 30 runs)
  • Most players get it close to pity rather than early

Expect to grind this part the longest. Consistency is key here.

Step 5: Extra Items and Hidden Mechanics

While farming, you may also encounter:

  • Special drops like “Baby Law”
  • Portal stages that unlock progression
  • Time-limited items such as Kuromi Clock spawns

Some mechanics may feel unclear or even bugged, but most items will still count toward progression even if the UI doesn’t update properly.

Step 6: Evolve into Gilgamesh Emperor

Once all materials are ready, you can evolve Gilgamesh into Gilgamesh Emperor.

Requirements are surprisingly simple at the final step:

  • Basic takedown requirement
  • Minimal gold cost

After evolution, you’ll unlock a much stronger version of the unit with upgraded abilities and passives.

Gilgamesh Emperor Skills and Passives

Gilgamesh Emperor comes with multiple powerful passives built around King Energy:

  • Gains energy through attacks and status effects
  • Becomes immune to stuns
  • Can transform into a stronger state temporarily
  • Gains damage, range, and cooldown bonuses when transformed

He also gains:

  • Multi-hit attacks
  • Line AoE abilities (instead of standard circle AoE)
  • Large attack range at higher upgrades

While he starts as a ground unit, his transformation significantly boosts his overall performance.

Is Gilgamesh Emperor Worth It?

Gilgamesh Emperor is definitely one of the stronger units in Update 3.5. His scaling, range, and transformation mechanic make him very effective in most stages. That said, he’s not completely game-breaking. You can still clear content without him, but having him makes things noticeably easier, especially in longer or harder runs.

The journey to Gilgamesh Emperor takes time, but the process feels rewarding thanks to the generous rerolls and manageable difficulty in most stages. The biggest challenge is farming rare drops like the King Crown, so patience plays a big role here. If you’re planning to grind Update 3.5 seriously, Gilgamesh should be one of your top priorities. Once fully built, he becomes a solid addition to almost any team setup.
