Dead Rails Summoner Class Guide – How to Get & Is It Worth It?

Dead Rails keeps adding new and interesting mechanics, but nothing comes close to how crazy the Summoner class feels right now. From spawning powerful allies to triggering massive explosions, this class looks completely broken at first glance. But there’s a catch. Not everything you see is actually available to normal players. If you’re wondering how it works and whether you can use it yourself, here’s everything you need to know.

What is the Summoner Class in Dead Rails?

Dead Rails Summoner Class Guide – How to Get & Is It Worth It?

The Summoner is a special class that acts like an upgraded version of the Necromancer. Its main feature is simple but powerful:

  • Defeating enemies can summon creatures (like werewolves)
  • Enemies can get pulled into the air and trigger huge explosions
  • It comes with a unique weapon called the Holy Wrench

This combination makes it feel extremely overpowered, especially when multiple summons are active at the same time.

How to Get the Summoner Class

Here’s the important part: You cannot get the Summoner class normally.

Right now, the Summoner is:

  • Admin-only content
  • Not available in the standard class selection
  • Not purchasable with in-game currency

To use it, you would need access to:

  • Admin commands
  • Special configurations or private setups

For regular players, this class is not obtainable at the moment.

Summoner Abilities Explained

1. Summoning Mechanic

When you attack and defeat enemies:

  • A werewolf ally can spawn
  • These summons automatically attack nearby enemies
  • Multiple summons can stack and overwhelm groups

This makes crowd control very easy, especially in areas filled with zombies or bandits.

2. Explosion Effect

Another unique part of the class:

  • Enemies can get launched into the air
  • After that, they trigger a large explosion

This doesn’t just damage one target—it can clear entire groups instantly.

3. Holy Wrench (Exclusive Weapon)

The Summoner starts with a weapon called the Holy Wrench.

  • Classified as a mythical weapon
  • Used to trigger summoning effects
  • Causes enemies to disappear or explode

Even though it looks simple, the effects tied to it are what make it powerful.

Why the Summoner Feels Overpowered

There are a few reasons why this class stands out so much:

  • Can spawn multiple allies at once
  • Deals both direct damage and AoE explosions
  • Clears bosses surprisingly fast
  • Requires very little setup compared to other classes

In some cases, even strong enemies like bosses can be defeated extremely quickly due to chained effects.

Is It Coming to the Game?

While the current version is admin-only, there’s a strong chance a similar version could be added later. If it does release, it will likely be:

  • A balanced version of Necromancer
  • With toned-down summoning
  • Less extreme explosion effects

Right now, the current version is simply too strong to be added as-is.

Is the Summoner Class Good?

If we’re talking about raw power, then yes—this class is extremely strong. However:

  • It’s not balanced
  • It’s not accessible
  • And it’s not part of the normal gameplay loop

So for now, it’s more of a preview of what could be added in the future rather than something you can rely on.

The Summoner class in Dead Rails is easily one of the most over-the-top concepts seen in the game so far. Between spawning allies, launching enemies, and triggering explosions, it feels more like an experimental or admin tool than a regular class.

While you can’t unlock it right now, it does give a good idea of where the game might go next. If a balanced version ever gets released, it could become one of the most fun and unique classes available.
