The Companions update in Fisch adds a new layer to the gameplay that goes beyond basic fishing. Instead of relying only on rods and bait, you can now bring companions that provide unique effects while you fish. Some are easy to unlock, while others require specific setups, rare conditions, or a lot of patience. 1. Beak Bill (Pelican)

Beak Bill is one of the easiest companions to unlock and can be found near docks in areas like Moosewood, Roslit, and Forsaken Shores. To get it, simply wait for the pelican to appear and feed it a small fish such as an anchovy. Once you do that, it will immediately join you.

Its ability is simple but helpful. Occasionally, Beak Bill will grab fish from the water and give them to you. This effect tends to trigger more often during rainy weather.

2. Plunderbeak (Parrot)

Plunderbeak is located in Forsaken Shores, but unlocking it takes more effort compared to most companions.

You’ll need to complete the Forsaken Shores bestiary, open at least ten treasure chests, and use a specific rod like the Scurvy Rod. Once all conditions are met, the parrot will automatically attach to your character.

This companion helps you locate treasure chests and also has a chance to turn fish into gold variants, increasing their value.

3. Silly Seal

Silly Seal can be found in icy regions such as the Northern Expedition area.

To unlock it, you need to feed it fish like tuna or sawfish. Be careful when approaching, because moving too quickly will scare it away and force you to wait before trying again.

This companion has a mixed effect. Sometimes it helps your fishing progress, but other times it may eat your catch, making it a bit unpredictable.

4. Gary Gator (Crocodile)

Gary Gator appears in Mushgrove and requires a specific setup to unlock.

5. Tropical Toucan

The Tropical Toucan is found in the Lost Jungle, usually perched on trees near the merchant area.

To unlock it, you need to feed it bait from that region, such as centipedes or similar items.

This companion is quite powerful. It can automatically collect bait for you and also provides bonuses to luck and fish size while active.

6. Penguin Pal

Penguin Pal is located in Snowcap and requires multiple steps to obtain.

You’ll need a reinforced crab cage and krill bait, then head into the Snow Burrow area. Place the cage and open it until you eventually unlock the penguin.

Its ability helps by freezing fish during the catch process, making them easier to reel in.

7. Flopping Salmon

Flopping Salmon is one of the simplest companions to get.

All you need to do is fish for salmon in the ocean. There’s around a 10% chance that you’ll obtain it as a companion instead of a regular catch.

Little Meg is considered one of the strongest companions available.

To get it, you need to find a Megalodon and make sure a smaller version, Little Meg, is following it. Then, you must successfully perform a perfect catch.

9. Mutated Sharky

Mutated Sharky is one of the hardest companions to obtain in the game.

It only appears in the Depths during the Absolute Darkness event. To get it, you’ll need a low lure speed rod and Fish Head bait. Instead of chasing it, you must wait patiently for it to approach your hook.

This companion can create whirlpools that provide special advantages while fishing and may even allow teleportation to certain areas.
