All Demonology Roblox Ghost Explained Guide & How to Identify Them!

Surviving in Demonology becomes much easier once you understand how every ghost works. Each ghost type has its own behavior, hunting pattern, strengths, and weaknesses. Some ghosts move faster, some fake evidence, while others become dangerous depending on lighting, energy, or player actions. If you are tired of guessing the wrong ghost and losing runs during hunts, this guide explains every ghost in Demonology Roblox along with the most important clues you should watch for during investigations.

Aswang

The Aswang is a dangerous ghost that becomes stronger whenever players die. One of its main weaknesses is salt because walking through salt slows it down. However, the scary part is its passive ability that increases movement speed by 20% for every dead teammate.

This means the Aswang becomes much harder to survive against in late hunts when multiple players are already eliminated. If you suspect an Aswang, place salt in important hallways and try to keep your entire team alive as long as possible.

Banshee

Banshees are known for breaking glass objects more often than other ghosts. This includes windows, cups, and light bulbs. During hunts, they may also produce a unique screaming or wailing sound that helps identify them.

If you notice glass constantly breaking around the map without many other interactions, there is a good chance the ghost is a Banshee. Keep listening carefully during hunts because the special scream can help confirm it.

Demon

Demons are among the most aggressive ghosts in the game. They start hunts very quickly once the hunt threshold is reached and have shorter downtime between hunts compared to many other ghosts.

Crosses are much more effective against Demons, so spreading crosses around the ghost room can help reduce danger. You should also memorize nearby hiding spots early because Demon hunts can happen repeatedly with little warning.

Dullahan

The Dullahan, also called the Headless Horseman, becomes faster the longer it sees a player during a hunt. In photos, the ghost may also appear headless, which is a huge clue.

To survive against a Dullahan, break line of sight as often as possible. Hiding behind furniture or entering closets resets its speed boost, making it easier to escape.

Dibbuk

Dibbuks are easy to recognize because they can interact with dead bodies. They are the only ghost capable of throwing corpses around the map.

Another important clue is their reaction to the music box. When the music box starts playing, the Dibbuk gets stunned for several seconds. If you see body movement or corpse interactions, it is almost certainly a Dibbuk.

Entity

The Entity has the special ability to teleport between rooms while roaming or hunting. Unlike many ghosts, it usually does not throw objects around the environment.

Because teleportation is its main trait, you may suddenly notice the ghost appearing in distant rooms without normal roaming behavior. Keep in mind that Skinwalkers can sometimes mimic this ability.

Ghoul

Ghouls are playful ghosts that behave differently during hunts. One major clue is that they cannot disable electronics during hunts.

You can test this by leaving equipment like Spirit Boxes or EMF Readers turned on. If they stay active after a hunt, the ghost may be a Ghoul. They are also known for interacting through the Spirit Box more often.

Leviathan

Leviathans love throwing objects and can even throw multiple items at once. They are also able to switch lights off outside of hunts.

If the ghost room constantly has objects flying around everywhere at the same time, Leviathan becomes a strong possibility. This ghost is extremely chaotic compared to most others.

Nightmare

Nightmares cause hallucinations that trick players with fake sounds. You may hear glass breaking or objects moving even though nothing actually happened.

They are also more likely to hunt in dark rooms. Keeping lights on can slightly reduce danger and help your team survive longer against them.

Oni

The Oni is one of the fastest ghosts in Demonology. During hunts, it can move almost as fast as sprinting players and quickly closes distance once stamina runs low.

Players often confuse normal hunt blinking with Oni speed boosts. The real sign is sudden acceleration during a chase. If the ghost suddenly rushes forward at extreme speed, it is likely an Oni.

Phantom

Phantoms are shy ghosts that avoid hunting when many players are grouped together. They also have a unique blinking pattern during hunts with longer invisible phases.

If your team has very low sanity but hunts still take a long time to begin, the ghost may be a Phantom. Their unusual blinking can also make looping them more difficult.

Revenant

Revenants hunt extremely often because they have shorter cooldowns between hunts. However, once they successfully kill someone, the hunt immediately ends.

Some players intentionally sacrifice themselves to test for Revenant behavior. If the hunt stops right after a kill, it strongly points toward a Revenant.

Siren

Sirens use singing and humming to identify themselves. During Spirit Box sessions, they may respond with humming sounds shown in red text.

They also slow players who remain in their line of sight during hunts, making escapes harder. If you hear singing through the Spirit Box, there is a strong chance the ghost is a Siren.

Shadow

Shadows are quiet ghosts that lower room temperatures very slowly, making ghost room detection harder with thermometers.

They also become weaker in lit rooms because lighting slows them down. Turning on lights and restoring the fuse box can make Shadow hunts easier to survive.

Skinwalker

Skinwalkers are one of the hardest ghosts to identify because they can copy abilities from other ghosts. They are also capable of creating fake Ghost Orb evidence.

When investigating a possible Skinwalker, carefully track all evidence in your journal. Ghost writing tests become extremely important because Skinwalkers can confuse players with fake abilities.

Spectre

Spectres are strongly tied to their favorite room and rarely roam outside of it unless hunting. They frequently throw objects, though only one at a time.

Because they stay near their ghost room so often, evidence like EMF Level 5 and Laser Projector becomes easier to collect once the room is found.

Spirit

Spirits are considered the most normal ghost type in Demonology. They do not have major strengths or weaknesses compared to other ghosts.

One unique interaction is their ability to alter candle flames, sometimes turning them blue. Outside of that, Spirits mostly behave like standard ghosts.

Wisp

Wisps have a strong connection to fire and can light candles on their own. If you see candles lit without any teammate touching them, the ghost could be a Wisp.

Wisps also can only begin hunts from their favorite room. Holy Oil placed at the doorway of the ghost room can trap them during hunts and prevent kills.

Umbra

Umbras are stealthy ghosts that make no footstep sounds during hunts. Because of this, players must rely on heartbeat sounds instead of footsteps to detect nearby danger.

Like Shadows, they also slow down in lit rooms. Keeping areas illuminated can make escaping easier.

Wendigo

Wendigos grow stronger as player energy decreases. Their speed becomes much more dangerous during long matches when players are exhausted.

Energy Drinks and Energy Watches are very useful against Wendigos because keeping your energy high directly weakens the ghost’s speed bonus.

Wraith

Wraiths slowly drain player energy just by being nearby. Another major clue is that they do not disturb salt when walking through it.

Unlike Holy Oil, salt does not block Wraith movement during hunts. If salt remains untouched despite ghost activity, Wraith becomes a likely answer.

Learning ghost behavior is just as important as collecting evidence in Demonology. Many ghosts share similar evidence types, so paying attention to hunt behavior, movement speed, object interactions, and environmental clues can help you solve cases much faster. Always monitor salt, lights, sounds, electronics, and player energy levels during investigations. The more experience you gain with ghost patterns, the easier it becomes to identify dangerous ghosts before the hunts become overwhelming.
