Fish It Aquarium Guide – How to Unlock, Build, and Visit Other Aquariums
The long-awaited Aquarium System has finally arrived in Fish It, and it adds a brand-new reason to keep collecting rare fish instead of instantly selling them. Players can now create their own personal aquarium, decorate tanks with their best catches, and even show off trophies and rod skins to other players visiting their setup.
This update is much bigger than just placing fish inside tanks. There are multiple aquarium areas to unlock, several tanks to open, and a full social feature that lets you visit other players’ collections. If you are planning to build the ultimate underwater showcase, here is everything you need to know about the new Aquarium System in Fish It.
How to Unlock the Aquarium in Fish It
The Aquarium building has been visible in the game world for a long time, but players could not access it until this update. To get there, you first need to travel to the Underwater City Point of Interest using your boat. Once you arrive, you must enter the underwater area using the submarine.
Players who still have not unlocked the submarine will need to complete a requirement first. You must give 20 Cosmic Tailfish to the Submarine Operator NPC before the submarine becomes available. After unlocking it, you can freely enter the underwater section and access the aquarium area.
When entering the aquarium for the first time, a short cutscene will play. The scene gives players a cool first-person view from inside the tanks, making the entire area feel more alive and immersive. Thankfully, there is no entry fee to access your aquarium. The real costs only begin once you start unlocking areas and tanks.
How to Build Your Aquarium
The aquarium is divided into four different areas, and each section contains several tanks where you can place your fish collection. Larger areas naturally provide more tank space, allowing players to create much bigger displays for rare fish and event catches.
Almost every fish you catch can be placed into the tanks, which means you can customize your aquarium however you want. Some players may prefer filling tanks with legendary fish, while others might create colorful displays using smaller fish varieties. The update gives players a lot of freedom when designing their underwater showcase.
Here are the unlock costs for each aquarium area:
- Area 1 $500,000 3 Tanks
- Area 2 $500,000 3 Tanks
- Area 3 $1,000,000 4 Tanks
- Area 4 $2,000,000 4 Tanks
Even after unlocking an area, you still need to remove the chains attached to each individual tank. Unlocking these tanks costs around $100,000 to $200,000 each depending on the tank. Because of this, fully upgrading the aquarium requires a huge amount of money, making it one of the biggest long-term goals currently available in Fish It.
Trophy and Rod Skin Displays
The Aquarium System is not only about fish tanks. Players can also place fishing trophies and rod skins around the building using dedicated display stands. Smaller stands are used for tiny collectibles, while larger pedestals are designed for valuable fishing rods and premium rod skins.
This feature makes the aquarium feel more like a personal museum rather than just a fish storage room. If you collected rare event items or limited-time rod skins in older updates, this is finally the perfect place to display them properly.
Players who enjoy collecting cosmetics will probably spend a lot of time organizing these displays to make their aquarium stand out from others.
How to Visit Other Players’ Aquariums
One of the best parts of the update is the ability to visit other players’ aquariums. To do this, leave your aquarium using the blue exit door. Once you reach the Aquarium Lobby, open the Visit menu and choose another player from the list.
After selecting a player, you will instantly teleport to their aquarium and explore their collection. This gives players a fun way to compare rare fish, unique layouts, and trophy displays with friends or random players online.
There is also a like feature included in the system. If you enjoy someone’s aquarium design, you can press the thumbs-up icon to leave them a like. This adds a small social element to the update and encourages players to create better-looking aquariums.
Is the Aquarium Worth Building?
The Aquarium System adds something Fish It has been missing for a long time: meaningful long-term progression. Before this update, most players simply sold every valuable fish they caught for money. Now, there is finally a reason to keep rare catches and build a collection over time.
Although unlocking everything is expensive, the aquarium gives players a fresh endgame goal to work toward. Starting with Area 1 and slowly expanding your aquarium feels rewarding, especially once your tanks begin filling up with rare fish, event collectibles, and unique rod skins. If you enjoy collecting and showing off rare items, the Aquarium update is easily one of the best additions Fish It has received so far.
