Jujutsu Shenanigans BLACK DEATH Update Adds Kurourushi, Yuta Rework, and Ryu Changes

The newest update for Roblox’s Jujutsu Shenanigans finally dropped, and it brings a massive batch of content for players to test out. From the release of Kurourushi to a full Yuta rework and more updates for Ryu, this patch changes a lot of the current gameplay meta. Several characters also received balance tweaks, new finishers, and extra variants that make combat feel much smoother than before. If you have been waiting for a bigger update with fresh mechanics and flashy combos, this patch definitely delivers. Here’s a full breakdown of everything added in the latest JJS update.

Kurourushi Is Finally Playable

One of the biggest highlights of the update is the arrival of Kurourushi as a brand-new playable character. The character comes with a special bar mechanic that slowly fills during combat. Once the bar is maxed out, Kurourushi can deal much heavier damage, making the character very dangerous during extended fights. Kurourushi’s base moveset includes:

  • Festering Strikes
  • Detach
  • Chokehold
  • Roach Swarm

Festering Strikes helps build the special bar faster, while Detach works as a long-range pull move that drags enemies toward you. Chokehold acts as a close-range grab attack, and Roach Swarm lets players move around aggressively while still damaging enemies.

The Roach Swarm move is especially interesting because players can ride around with it almost like a skateboard attack, giving the character strong mobility and combo potential.

Kurourushi Ultimate Explained

Kurourushi’s awakening creates clone versions of the character that fight alongside you. The ultimate can quickly overwhelm enemies because multiple copies can attack at the same time. There is also a G + R variant move that creates a huge tornado-style AoE attack. The damage is surprisingly high considering how wide the attack range is, making it useful in crowded fights and team battles. Overall, Kurourushi already looks like one of the strongest and most aggressive characters added to the game so far.

Yuta Rework Completely Changes the Character

The update also gives Yuta a major rework. Several old moves received new animations and effects, while brand-new abilities were added to improve his combo routes and overall gameplay feel.

Here are the updated moves for Yuta:

  • Severing Path rework
  • Resolute Slash rework
  • New move called Outburst
  • Updated Second Wind
  • New ultimate mechanics
  • Copy Wheel system

Resolute Slash now includes a Black Flash effect after teleporting, which looks much cleaner compared to the previous version. Outburst adds another slash-style attack inspired by scenes from the anime and manga.

Second Wind also feels more impactful now because the animation includes a slam attack that flows better during combos.

Yuta’s New Copy Wheel System

One of the biggest changes is the new Copy Wheel mechanic during Yuta’s awakening. Players can now select abilities to copy directly from enemies, making Yuta much more flexible during fights. This system gives Yuta access to different playstyles depending on who you are fighting. It also makes the character feel more accurate to the anime source material. The update additionally moved True Love Beam into Rika’s moveset while removing the old Rika throw mechanic entirely.

Ryu Gets New Awakening Features

Ryu also received several changes in this update. A new move called “You Weren’t Invited” has been added, featuring a strong punch attack with surprising range. Players can also use a hold variation of the move for even more damage output. Other Ryu changes include:

  • Less lag during certain attacks
  • New awakening animation
  • Self-damage added to some skills
  • Awakening drain adjustments
  • Buffs and nerfs mixed together

The character still remains powerful, but now players need to manage abilities more carefully due to the added self-damage mechanics.

Toto and Higuruma Also Receive Changes

Toto finally received a new finisher animation for Brute Force. The move now throws enemies away with a much smoother ending animation that fits the character’s fighting style better. Meanwhile, Higuruma gained new variants and extra combo mixups. His hammer attacks now include new swipe animations and improved effects that make the character feel more complete during PvP battles. These changes may not be as large as the Kurourushi or Yuta updates, but they still improve gameplay variety significantly.

This latest Jujutsu Shenanigans update is easily one of the biggest patches the game has received in a while. Kurourushi brings a completely fresh playstyle, Yuta feels far more polished after the rework, and Ryu now has stronger awakening mechanics with better visual effects.

On top of that, smaller updates for Toto, Higuruma, beam clashes, items, and emotes help make the overall combat system feel more modern and smoother than before. It will be interesting to see how the new balance changes affect ranked fights and public servers over the next few weeks, especially once more players master Kurourushi’s clone-based ultimate combos.
