How to Get Wano Gomu and Gear 4 in Pirate Piece Guide
The new Wano Gomu and Gear 4 transformation have finally arrived in Pirate Piece, and they are currently some of the strongest powers in the game. Inspired by Luffy’s Gear 4 form from One Piece, this update adds a long progression questline filled with boss fights, grinding, and rare item farming.
Even though unlocking Gear 4 takes a lot of time, many players are grinding for it because the damage, range, and overall combat style are extremely strong. If you want to unlock the new Wano Gomu and Bounceman transformation, here is the complete guide.
Step 1 – Get the Gomu Gomu Fruit
Before starting the Gear 4 questline, you first need the normal Gomu Gomu fruit equipped.
You can get it by rerolling fruits at Restaurant Island. Once you finally obtain the fruit, eat and equip it because several quests will only work if you are actively using Gum-Gum abilities.
Without the Gum-Gum fruit equipped, later requirements for Wano Gomu will not count properly.
Step 2 – Farm Crimson Sea Scales
The next step requires players to defeat Sea Kings. These bosses spawn through an RNG system that is affected by your bounty level. Higher bounty seems to increase spawn chances significantly.
Your goal is to keep farming Sea Kings until the Crimson Sea King appears. This boss drops Crimson Sea Scales, which are needed for the Gear 4 progression.
You need:
- 15 Crimson Sea Scales
This can take a while depending on your luck, so expect some grinding here.
Step 3 – Start the Rayleigh Questline
After collecting all Crimson Sea Scales, head to Water 7 Island and speak with Rayleigh NPC to begin the main Gear 4 questline.
Before starting, make sure you already have:
- Permanent Haki
- Max Observation Haki
- 300,000 Bounty
These are required before the quests become available.
Step 4 – Complete the Dash Quest
One of the first quests requires players to dodge 500 times.
Important detail: this only counts normal dash dodges using the Q key. Observation Haki dodges do not count for the quest.
The fastest method is simply repeatedly dashing while moving around the map.
Step 5 – Hit Enemies 1,000 Times
The next mission is much easier but still time-consuming. You need to land 1,000 hits on enemies.
Dungeon waves are currently the best method because they spawn large groups of enemies quickly. Higher waves make this challenge much faster since more enemies appear at once.
Most players can finish this part in around 20 minutes if farming efficiently.
Step 6 – Defeat 10 Sea Kings
Another quest requires you to defeat 10 Sea Kings of any type.
If you already have high bounty, this part becomes much easier because Sea Kings spawn more frequently.
Compared to the earlier Crimson Sea Scale grind, this step is relatively simple.
Step 7 – Unlock Wano Gomu
This is the hardest part of the entire progression.
Luffy boss spawns every hour somewhere randomly across the map. He can appear on nearly any island, so players usually search by looking into the sky for visual effects.
To obtain Wano Gomu, you must:
- Defeat Luffy Phase 1 alone
- Use only Gum-Gum abilities for damage
- Avoid using other powers or weapons
The Wano Gomu drop chance is only around 10%, meaning you may need several attempts before finally getting it.
Step 8 – Defeat Dragon Boss with Wano Gomu
Once you unlock Wano Gomu, return to the questline and defeat the Dragon Boss using only the Wano Gomu or rubber-based abilities.
This quest becomes much easier after obtaining the upgraded fruit because Wano Gomu already deals extremely high damage.
Step 9 – Collect King Essence
Next, you need:
- 5 King Essence
These are dropped by Shanks boss inside Dungeons. Since the drop is chance-based, players usually need multiple runs before getting all five.
After collecting them, head back to Rayleigh at Water 7 to continue the progression.
Step 10 – Defeat Luffy Again Using Wano Gomu
The final major quest requires defeating Luffy once more using only Wano Gomu abilities.
Unfortunately, this also means waiting for his hourly spawn again. Thankfully, Wano Gomu is currently one of the highest damage fruits in the game, making the fight much easier than before.
How to Unlock Gear 4 (Bounceman)
After finishing all quests, return to Water 7 Island to finally unlock Gear 4 Bounceman.
You also need these materials:
- 200 Evo Essence
- 2,000 Sea Event Tokens
Most of these materials are obtained through the Luffy boss and event farming.
Once completed, you finally gain access to the Gear 4 transformation.
Gear 4 Showcase and Skills
Gear 4 is currently one of the strongest and most aggressive fighting styles in Pirate Piece. The transformation massively increases your damage, attack range, and overall pressure during combat. Some of the standout features include:
- Huge AOE range
- Extremely high damage
- Fast and flashy skills
- Strong farming potential
- Great PvP pressure
Kong Gun especially feels incredibly powerful because of its massive impact and high burst damage.
While some players dislike the Gear 4 model appearance, most agree that the actual gameplay and skills are worth the grind. The upgraded moves become much larger and stronger after transformation, allowing players to clear enemies very quickly.
The only thing missing for many players is flight, which would make the transformation even better.
Unlocking Wano Gomu and Gear 4 in Pirate Piece is definitely a long grind, but the reward is worth it if you enjoy strong abilities and powerful combat styles. Between the massive damage, huge attack range, and flashy skills, Gear 4 easily becomes one of the best powers currently available in the game.
If you plan on farming for it, make sure to prepare enough bounty, dungeon runs, and patience for the Luffy spawn grind. Once you finally unlock Bounceman, though, the entire game becomes much easier and far more fun to play.
