VV: Ultimatum Airwalk Guide – How to Unlock Airwalk Fast

Traveling across the world in VV: Ultimatum can take a lot of time, especially when you constantly run into enemies or have to navigate difficult terrain. That’s why unlocking Airwalk should be one of your top priorities. This movement ability allows you to travel through the air, making exploration much faster and helping you reach locations that would otherwise take much longer to access. If you’re wondering how to get Airwalk, here’s a complete guide covering every step of the quest.

What is Airwalk in VV: Ultimatum?

Airwalk is a mobility skill that lets players move through the air and bypass many obstacles found throughout the game world. Instead of running through dangerous areas filled with enemies, you can simply travel above them.

The ability becomes even more useful later in the game when you’re farming bosses, completing quests, or moving between regions frequently. An additional benefit is that once Airwalk is unlocked on one character, every future character you create will automatically have access to it from the beginning.

Airwalk Requirements

Before starting the quest, you must meet several requirements:

  • Reach Level 40 or higher
  • Complete all previous main story quests
  • Gain access to the Tundra region

Since Airwalk is tied to the main storyline, most players will naturally unlock access to the quest as they progress through the game.

How to Start the Airwalk Quest

The first step is traveling to the Precipice, the burning village located on the main map. Once you arrive:

  1. Speak with John.
  2. Complete his quest requirements.
  3. Unlock access to the Tundra region.

After entering Tundra, make your way to the frozen village and look for an NPC named Xuanzang. Xuanzang stands near a bridge overlooking the village and serves as the quest giver for Airwalk.

If you’re having trouble finding him, hold the C key to highlight nearby interactable NPCs. This makes locating important quest characters much easier. After speaking with Xuanzang, you’ll receive instructions to travel to the highest point in Tundra.

How to Reach the Highest Point in Tundra

The “highest point” mentioned during the quest is actually an abandoned ice fortress hidden deeper within the region. To reach it:

  1. Find the ice tunnel marked by four blue lamp posts.
  2. Enter the tunnel and continue forward.
  3. Follow the path on the right side.
  4. Keep moving until you spot a giant ice skull.
  5. Pass through the skull entrance.
  6. The frozen fortress will be visible nearby.

Once you arrive at the fortress, begin climbing toward the top using your Double Jump ability. The climb is fairly straightforward, but there is one major obstacle standing in your way.

How to Defeat the Quincy Archers

The toughest part of the Airwalk quest is dealing with the Quincy Archers guarding the fortress. These enemies can knock you off the tower with their arrows. If that happens, you’ll often have to repeat a large portion of the climb. Because of this, simply blocking their attacks is not enough. To safely get through the fortress:

  • Dodge incoming arrows whenever possible.
  • Use parries if you’re comfortable with the timing.
  • Rush archers quickly before they fire multiple shots.
  • Use walls and cover to bait attacks.
  • Attack immediately after an archer misses.

A common strategy is hiding behind cover until an archer shoots. Once the arrow misses, quickly move in and eliminate them before they can attack again.

Using stronger weapons, clans, and abilities can also make this section much easier.

How to Get Airwalk

Continue climbing until you reach the top of the third tower within the ice fortress. At the summit, you’ll find an NPC waiting for you. Simply speak with the NPC and you’ll officially unlock Airwalk. From that point onward, you’ll be able to use the ability whenever you travel across the world.

Is Airwalk Worth Getting?

Absolutely. Airwalk is one of the most useful abilities available in VV: Ultimatum. It drastically reduces travel time, helps avoid unnecessary fights, and makes exploration much more convenient. The quest can be challenging due to the Quincy Archers, but the reward is well worth the effort. Even better, since Airwalk becomes account-wide after unlocking it once, future characters can immediately take advantage of one of the game’s best movement abilities without repeating the entire quest.
