Picking the right units in Anime Squadron can make a huge difference, especially when you’re trying to clear story stages, farm materials, complete raids, or push difficult challenge content. While many units are usable during the early game, some characters clearly stand above the rest thanks to their damage output, speed, utility, and upgrade potential.

Based on early game testing and community feedback, this tier list ranks the strongest units currently available in Anime Squadron. Keep in mind that future updates, balance changes, and new units may affect these rankings.

SS Tier – Best Units in the Game

These are the strongest units available right now. If you get one of these characters, they can carry your account through most content.

GoMeta

GoMeta currently offers some of the highest DPS in Anime Squadron. This secret unit excels against bosses with massive health pools, making it one of the best options for raids and late-game challenges. If your goal is pure damage, GoMeta is hard to beat.

Sanjiro

Many players consider Sanjiro the best overall unit in the game. While GoMeta wins in raw DPS, Sanjiro makes up for it with incredible attack speed and fast stage clearing. Since faster clears mean more rewards over time, Sanjiro is arguably the most valuable unit for farming.

Madara

Madara is one of the strongest secret units available through Squadron stages. He combines excellent damage with reliable performance across nearly every game mode. Players aiming for endgame content should definitely try to obtain him.

S Tier – Excellent Endgame Units

These units are slightly below the top tier but remain extremely powerful and worth investing resources into.

Shenron

Obtained through raid content, Shenron delivers strong damage and performs well in both farming and boss battles. He is one of the better secret units for players progressing into harder content.

Aizen

Aizen requires significant effort to unlock, but the reward is worth it. His evolved form provides excellent damage and remains useful throughout late-game challenges.

Kakashi

Kakashi is one of the best mythic units for new players. His biggest advantage is speed, allowing players to clear stages much faster than many other mythics. Although he may eventually be replaced by stronger secret units, he remains one of the best progression characters.

A Tier – Strong Units Worth Using

These units are reliable choices and can help players complete most content without major issues.

Goku

Goku starts as a strong mythic unit and later becomes even more valuable because he can evolve into GoMeta. Because of this upgrade path, investing in Goku is highly recommended.

Vegeta

Vegeta performs well during progression and is required for the GoMeta evolution process. Even though he isn’t as dominant as some top-tier units, he remains useful.

Big Beard

Big Beard is one of the most expensive mythic units in the game. His damage output is solid, and he works well in story stages and farming content.

Shanks

Shanks offers strong overall performance and can comfortably handle most game modes. He may not reach SS Tier levels, but he is still a valuable addition to any team.

B Tier – Good Early and Mid-Game Units

These units are useful when starting out but will likely be replaced as your roster improves.

Legendary Units

Most legendary units fall into this category. They are strong enough to clear story stages and help you unlock later content. New players should not underestimate them, especially if mythics are unavailable.

Fast Wagon

Fast Wagon is the only farm unit currently available. While it does not provide major combat power, its economy benefits make it almost mandatory for efficient progression.

C Tier – Situational Units

These units can work in specific situations but generally struggle compared to higher-tier options.

Starter Units

Starter characters are useful during the first few stages of the game but quickly fall behind as stronger units become available.

Unupgraded Mythics

Even powerful mythics can feel weak if they are underleveled or unevolved. Players should prioritize awakening and evolving important units before judging their performance.

Best Units for Beginners

If you’re just starting Anime Squadron, focus on obtaining these units:

  1. Kakashi
  2. Goku
  3. Shanks
  4. Big Beard
  5. Fast Wagon

This combination provides good damage, farming efficiency, and a smooth progression path toward stronger secret units later.

Best Secret Units

If your goal is endgame content, these are the secret units worth farming:

  1. Sanjiro
  2. GoMeta
  3. Madara
  4. Shenron
  5. Aizen

These characters dominate most of the game’s toughest stages and offer the highest overall value for long-term progression.

Anime Squadron features a solid roster of units, but a few characters currently stand above the competition. Sanjiro and GoMeta are widely considered the strongest choices for late-game players, while Kakashi remains one of the best mythics for early progression. Meanwhile, Madara, Shenron, and Aizen provide excellent upgrades once you start tackling raids and advanced challenges.

For new players, focus on clearing story stages, evolving your mythics, and farming secret units gradually. Building a strong team takes time, but choosing the right units early will make the journey much easier.
