Clash of Critters Treasure Hunt Guide, Best Tricks to Save Pickaxes!

Treasure Hunt is one of the most rewarding activities in Clash of Critters, but it can also consume thousands of pickaxes if you are not careful. Many players simply dig every tile they see, which often leads to wasted resources. By understanding how item sizes work and using bombs efficiently, you can clear boards faster and maximize your rewards.

Don’t Finish Exposed Items Right Away

One of the biggest mistakes players make is immediately digging the rest of an item once they discover part of it. While that seems natural, doing so removes the chance to trigger bombs on empty tiles.

Bombs can reveal additional spaces for free, saving valuable pickaxes. Because of this, it is usually better to leave partially discovered items alone and continue searching other areas of the board first. Once you’ve uncovered enough of the map, you can return and finish the exposed item later.

All Treasure Hunt Item Sizes

Knowing the size of every item makes searching much easier.

1×2 Items

  • Outdated Console
  • Syringe

These are some of the hardest items to locate, especially on larger boards.

1×3 Items

  • Cola
  • Trumpet

2×2 Items

  • Zubo Zine
  • Pirated Magazine

2×3 Items

  • Radio
  • Old TV

1×4 Item

  • Cyber Limb

2×4 Item

  • Statue

3×3 Item

  • UFO

Larger items are generally easier to find, while 1×2 items can consume a lot of pickaxes if they are the last remaining objects.

Start by Searching for the Largest Items

Whenever you enter a new board, check which items are available and focus on the biggest one first. For example, if the board contains a 1×4 Cyber Limb and a 3×3 UFO, start by searching with four-tile spacing. This increases your chances of finding the largest object quickly. If you accidentally uncover a smaller item, consider it a bonus. Using a grid pattern instead of random digging can save a huge number of pickaxes over time.

Stage Rewards Pattern

Treasure Hunt rewards always rotate in the same order:

  1. Pinballs
  2. Capsules
  3. Candy and Keys

The amount increases as you progress through stages.

Level 1 Chest Rewards

  • 5 Wish Boxes
  • 500 Pinballs
  • 10 Blue Bento Boxes
  • 1 Purple Card Pack

Level 2 Chest Rewards

  • 5 Wish Boxes
  • 1,000 Pinballs
  • 20 Bento Boxes
  • 5 Decoration Materials

Level 4 Chest Rewards

  • 15 Wish Boxes
  • 2,500 Pinballs
  • 20 Purple Bento Boxes
  • 15 Gold Tickets

Because of this, your main goal should always be obtaining four keys instead of simply rushing through stages.

Board Size and Pickaxe Costs

Treasure Hunt becomes more expensive as you advance.

Stage 1-3

  • Board Size: 5×5
  • Cost: 15 Pickaxes

Stage 4-6

  • Board Size: 6×6
  • Cost: 20 Pickaxes

Stage 7-9

  • Board Size: 7×7
  • Cost: 25 Pickaxes

Stage 10-12

  • Board Size: 7×7
  • Cost: 35 Pickaxes

Stage 13-15

  • Board Size: 7×7
  • Cost: 70 Pickaxes

Stage 16+

  • Board Size: 7×7
  • Cost: 100 Pickaxes

Although the board size stops increasing after Stage 7, the pickaxe cost keeps rising. This makes efficient digging much more important.

Play With Active Teammates

Treasure Hunt is easier with teammates who actively contribute. Try to team up with players who put in similar effort so everyone can reach milestone rewards faster.

If one teammate is close to earning another key, helping them can benefit the entire group since better rewards are shared among participants.

Complete Evolution Missions Early

If you’re evolving a Critter that requires a certain number of digs, it is best to start during the early stages. Spending 15 or 20 pickaxes per run is much cheaper than using 70 or 100 pickaxes on higher stages. This lets you work on evolution objectives while collecting Treasure Hunt rewards efficiently.

Treasure Hunt in Clash of Critters is more about strategy than luck. Learning item sizes, taking advantage of bomb mechanics, and focusing on four-key milestones will help you stretch your pickaxes much further. With the right approach, you can earn more Wish Boxes, Gold Tickets, and other valuable rewards without burning through thousands of pickaxes unnecessarily.
