Broken Blade has received another major update, and this one is mainly aimed at late-game players. If you’ve already built strong weapons and reached the higher stages of the game, there is now a lot more content to grind. The update introduces Weapon Ascension, new Sky Spire floors, Soul Ore, Charon, and several new rewards. If you’re wondering what to do first after updating, here is everything you need to know.
Weapon Ascension Explained
The biggest feature in this update is the new Weapon Ascension system. However, it is not available immediately. Your weapon must reach Soul Forge 12 before you can start using Ascension. Because of this requirement, the system is mostly designed for players who have already invested heavily into their favorite weapons.
Once unlocked, Ascension provides huge bonus stats, including extra damage, health, critical chance, and critical damage. Some of the bonuses can reach:
- +300% Damage
- +450% Health
- +20% Critical Chance
- +100% Critical Damage
Breakthrough System and Multipliers
Ascension also introduces a Breakthrough mechanic. Every weapon starts with a 1x multiplier, but players can roll for higher values. The multiplier can range from around 1.1x up to 2x. Naturally, 2x is the best possible result, but it is also extremely rare. Higher multipliers increase the value of your Ascension bonuses, making your weapon even stronger.
To perform Breakthrough, you will need:
- Holy Grail
- Arcanstone
Because Arcanstone is now important, make sure to redeem the newest codes:
- BBDC5K
- BBDC50K
Both codes give five Arcanstones each, giving you ten total to help start your Ascension grind.
New Aggro Stat
Another interesting addition is the Aggro stat. While it doesn’t have many uses right now, it is being prepared for future raid content. Aggro will likely determine how much enemy attention your character attracts. This means future builds may focus on different roles instead of only maximizing damage. Tank builds and support builds could become more useful once raids arrive.
Sky Spire Now Goes Up to Floor 200
Late-game players now have more content to clear thanks to the expansion of Sky Spire. The maximum floor has increased from 100 to 200. This gives players new goals and more rewards to chase.
Sky Spire remains one of the best places for farming important resources, Soul Stones, accessories, and titles. Players who already completed Floor 100 can now continue climbing and collect even better rewards.
Charon and Soul Ore
The update also introduces Charon, a new boss connected to the expanded Sky Spire content. Farming Charon is important because many of the newest rewards are tied to this content. Another new resource is Soul Ore.
Since the update revolves around Soul Forge and Ascension, Soul Ore will likely become one of the most valuable materials in the game. Instead of spending it immediately, it may be better to save and stockpile Soul Ore for future upgrades and crafting recipes.
New Rewards
Several new rewards have been added, including:
- New accessory
- New room decoration
- New title
- Additional endgame materials
Most of these rewards are obtained from higher Sky Spire floors and Charon-related content, making them worthwhile goals for veteran players.
Soul Forge Game Pass
A new Soul Forge game pass has also been added. This pass doubles your Soul Forge success chance, making it easier to reach Soul Forge 12.
Although it helps speed up progression, free players can still follow the same path. Focus on one weapon you plan to use long-term, reach Soul Forge 12, and then begin working on Ascension and Breakthrough.
The latest Broken Blade update gives endgame players plenty of reasons to keep grinding. Weapon Ascension adds another layer of power progression, while Sky Spire Floors 101-200 offer fresh challenges and rewards. Charon and Soul Ore also introduce new materials that will likely become important moving forward.
If you already have a strong weapon, reaching Soul Forge 12 should be your top priority. After that, Weapon Ascension and Breakthrough will allow you to push your build even further and prepare for future raid content.
