Choosing the right Fighting Style is one of the most important decisions you’ll make in Gakuran. Each style comes with its own strengths, making certain playstyles more effective depending on how you like to fight. While player skill is still the biggest factor in winning fights, selecting a Fighting Style that matches your character can give you a noticeable advantage. In this guide, we’ll explain every Fighting Style currently available in Gakuran, what makes each one unique, and which style is considered the best for beginners and experienced players.

All Fighting Styles in Gakuran

At the moment, Gakuran features six different Fighting Styles:

  • Basic
  • Boxing
  • Karate
  • Muay Thai
  • Wrestling
  • Akari

Each Fighting Style has its own passive perks, attack animations, and combat strengths. You can view these perks by selecting Show Perks in the Fighting Style menu before deciding whether to reroll.

How to Reroll Fighting Styles

If you aren’t happy with your current Fighting Style, you can reroll it through the character menu. Simply open your character information, select the Fighting Style section, and use a reroll. Keep in mind that rerolling requires Robux, so it may take several attempts before getting the style you want. Before rerolling, you can also use the Show Perks option to see what each Fighting Style offers.

Basic

Basic is the default Fighting Style that every new player starts with. It doesn’t offer any standout strengths but provides a balanced introduction to the game’s combat system. If you’re still learning how to parry, dash, and combo, Basic is perfectly fine until you’re ready to reroll for something stronger.

Pros

  • Easy to learn
  • Balanced moves
  • Good for practicing mechanics

Cons

  • No unique advantages
  • Outclassed by other styles

Boxing

Boxing focuses on quick punches and aggressive close-range combat. Players who enjoy constant pressure and fast attacks may find Boxing comfortable to use. Its speed makes it useful for landing short combos before backing away or preparing another attack.

Pros

  • Fast attacks
  • Good pressure
  • Beginner-friendly

Cons

  • Short attack range
  • Relies heavily on proper timing

Karate

Karate offers a balanced approach between offense and defense. Players using Karate can adapt to many situations, making it a reliable option for those who prefer a well-rounded fighting style. While it may not dominate every matchup, it remains consistent in most fights.

Pros

  • Balanced performance
  • Flexible playstyle
  • Reliable in most situations

Cons

  • Doesn’t specialize in one area

Muay Thai

Muay Thai focuses on powerful strikes and close-range aggression. It rewards players who enjoy staying close to opponents and keeping constant pressure throughout a fight. If you like playing offensively, Muay Thai is worth trying.

Pros

  • Strong offensive attacks
  • Great pressure
  • Effective in aggressive playstyles

Cons

  • Can be punished if attacks miss

Wrestling

Wrestling is another close-range Fighting Style that works well against opponents who struggle with spacing. Players who enjoy getting right next to their enemy and controlling the fight may enjoy Wrestling. Its slower pace means positioning becomes more important compared to faster styles.

Pros

  • Strong close-range combat
  • Good pressure

Cons

  • Less effective at longer distances

Akari

Akari is widely considered one of the strongest Fighting Styles currently available in Gakuran. Many experienced players recommend it because it performs especially well when combined with a tall character.

Since taller characters naturally have longer reach, pairing them with Akari creates a powerful combination that makes landing hits much easier during PvP battles. Although Akari is extremely strong, players still need good timing, movement, and parrying skills to make full use of it.

Pros

  • Excellent overall performance
  • Great PvP potential
  • Works extremely well with tall characters
  • Popular among experienced players

Cons

  • Requires rerolls to obtain
  • Still depends on player skill

Which Fighting Style Is the Best?

Based on the current version of Gakuran, Akari is generally viewed as the strongest Fighting Style. Its excellent combat performance, especially when paired with a tall character, makes it a top choice for competitive players.

However, no Fighting Style guarantees victory. Good spacing, proper parries, dash timing, and smart combo management are much more important than simply having the strongest style. A skilled player using Boxing or Karate can still defeat someone using Akari if they understand the combat system better.

Every Fighting Style in Gakuran offers a different way to approach combat. While Akari currently stands out as the strongest overall option, Boxing, Karate, Muay Thai, Wrestling, and even Basic all have their own strengths depending on your playstyle. Instead of chasing only the strongest style, spend time learning parries, movement, spacing, and combo timing. Mastering these fundamentals will help you win far more fights than relying on Fighting Style alone.
