The latest Lineage Piece update introduces one of the most anticipated characters in the game, Yhwach, also known as the Quincy King. Besides adding a powerful new fighting style, the update also increases the level cap, introduces a new raid, fresh quests, and mastery progression. If you’re planning to unlock Yhwach, you’ll need to complete several quests and farm the new raid. Here’s everything you need to know.
How to Unlock Yhwach
Before you can obtain Yhwach, you’ll first need to finish the new Quincy questline.
1. Complete the Quincy Questline
Visit the Quincy NPC in Hueco Mundo and complete all available quests. The objectives include:
- Defeat 500 Quincy enemies
- Eliminate 25 Eye enemies
- Find 4 Quincy Crystals
The crystal locations become much easier to locate by activating Observation Haki while exploring the island. Once every quest is complete, continue farming Quincy enemies until you obtain the required raid key.
2. Complete the Quincy Raid
After getting the key, enter the new Quincy Raid. The raid follows a different structure than previous raids. First, you’ll need to interact with five different crosses located around the map. Each cross summons a wave of Quincy enemies. Defeat them to spawn one raid boss. The bosses include:
- Jugram
- Askin
- Gerard
- Lille Barro
- Bambietta
After defeating every boss, the final encounter against Yhwach begins. Besides unlocking Yhwach, these bosses also drop several crafting materials required for the new update.
If you also want the Quincy race, there’s no special quest attached to it. Instead, simply use Race Rerolls until you obtain Quincy.
Yhwach Mastery Guide
Unlocking Yhwach is only the beginning. To access his full potential, you’ll need to finish several mastery missions. These objectives include:
- Deal 5 billion damage using Yhwach
- Equip the Quincy King title
- Successfully dodge attacks with Observation Haki 200 times
- Defeat the Ichigo Bankai Boss 50 times
- Defeat the Aizen Boss 25 times
- Clear Hard or Extreme mode 20 times
Completing every mastery challenge unlocks two additional abilities.
- R Move
- F Move (Transformation)
Yhwach Skills and Transformation
Yhwach comes with a complete offensive moveset featuring multiple area attacks and ranged abilities. The most notable skill is the F Move, which activates his transformation.
While transformed, Yhwach receives approximately a 30% damage increase, making every skill hit significantly harder. Although the move animations remain the same, the damage boost makes the transformation extremely valuable during raids and difficult content.
Is Yhwach Worth Getting?
Based on early gameplay, Yhwach performs extremely well in both boss fights and endgame content. His transformation provides a noticeable damage boost, while his overall skill set offers excellent damage output for farming and raids. Players have also successfully cleared difficult content like simulated C5 runs using a proper Yhwach build.
The grind isn’t exactly short, especially with the mastery objectives requiring multiple boss defeats and billions of damage dealt. However, the rewards make the effort worthwhile for players looking for one of the strongest Quincy-based abilities currently available.
The newest Lineage Piece update adds plenty of content beyond just a new character. With the increased level cap, Quincy quests, improved NPC interface, and an engaging raid mechanic, there’s a lot for players to explore.
If you’re aiming to build one of the strongest endgame characters, Yhwach is definitely worth adding to your collection. Be prepared for a lengthy grind, complete the mastery challenges, and you’ll unlock one of the most powerful transformations currently available in the game.
