Divine Claw is the newest evolution added to Catch a Monster in Update 0.38. As the evolved form of Thunder Claw, it gains stronger abilities, a powerful passive skill, and improved performance during boss battles. However, unlocking Divine Claw requires several rare materials, and the evolution isn’t guaranteed to succeed. This guide covers everything you need to know about evolving Thunder Claw into Divine Claw, including the required materials, success rate, skills, and farming tips.

What Is Divine Claw?

Divine Claw is the evolved version of Thunder Claw introduced during the Update 0.38 event. It specializes in boss fights thanks to its defensive abilities and passive damage boost against bosses. Compared to its previous form, Divine Claw offers better survivability and stronger utility, making it a solid option for players focusing on late-game PvE content.

Catch a Monster Update 0.38 Guide: Thunder Claw Evolution, Beatopus Boss, Codes, and More!

To unlock Divine Claw, you must first own Thunder Claw and collect the required evolution materials. The recipe requires:

  • 12 Drum –  Drum is the newest evolution material introduced alongside Divine Claw. You can obtain it by defeating the Beetopus world boss found on Nova Coast. Since the recipe requires 12 Drums, expect to farm Beetopus several times before collecting enough materials.
  • 30 Refined Ground Gems are another required evolution material. If you don’t already have enough, continue farming the activities that normally reward crafting materials until you’ve collected all 30 needed for the recipe. Saving these materials before attempting the evolution can help reduce additional farming later.

Once you have all the materials, open Thunder Claw’s profile and select the Recipe button. From there, you can begin the evolution process. Keep in mind that the evolution has only around an 18% success rate, so you may need multiple attempts before successfully obtaining Divine Claw.

Divine Claw Skills

Divine Claw comes with two active abilities and one powerful passive.

Divine Energy Burst

This skill grants 70% Damage Reduction while attacking enemies directly in front of the monster. The damage reduction makes Divine Claw much more durable during difficult encounters.

Rock Road

Rock Road launches a line of stone spikes that deals heavy damage to enemies caught in its path. This skill works well against groups of monsters and bosses standing directly ahead.

Sacred Beetle (Passive)

Sacred Beetle gives Divine Claw two useful bonuses:

  • Immune to Stun effects
  • Pet damage against bosses increased by 35%

This passive is the main reason Divine Claw performs so well during endgame boss farming.

Is Divine Claw Worth Getting?

For players who spend most of their time defeating bosses, Divine Claw is definitely worth working toward. Its combination of damage reduction, stun immunity, and increased boss damage makes it much more effective than the base Thunder Claw during long fights. The only downside is the relatively low evolution success rate, meaning you’ll likely need to farm additional materials before finally unlocking it.

Divine Claw is one of the strongest additions in Catch a Monster Update 0.38, especially for players focusing on boss content. While gathering 12 Drums and 30 Refined Ground Gems takes time, the upgraded abilities and powerful passive make the effort worthwhile. If you’re looking to improve your endgame team, farming Beetopus and unlocking Divine Claw should be one of your top priorities.
