The Awakening Serum Quest is one of the major quests introduced in the Fisch Drylands update. Unlike earlier missions that only require collecting items, this quest challenges players to complete three different fishing objectives across several locations in the Drylands. Some objectives also depend on specific weather conditions, so knowing when and where to fish is the key to finishing the quest quickly. Awakening Serum Quest Objectives
To complete the quest, you’ll need to finish these three objectives:
- Fish in the Terrosunder area during a Dust Storm.
- Catch 5 unique fish from the Sunken Reservoir.
- Catch 5 unique fish from the Claypans.
Each objective takes place in a different location, and two of them require special conditions before you can make progress.
Task 1 – Fish in the Terrosunder Area
The first objective is tied to Terrosunder, the massive creature that roams the Drylands. When Terrosunder appears, it creates a marked area where you’ll need to complete the quest objective. However, simply fishing there isn’t enough. You’ll also need the correct weather.
Requirements
- Wait for Terrosunder to spawn.
- Wait until a Dust Storm is active.
- Fish inside the marked Terrosunder zone.
- Use the Sand Sifter Bobber for sand fishing.
Do not fish in regular water during this objective. The quest specifically requires sand fishing inside Terrosunder’s designated area while the Dust Storm is active.
If either the creature or the weather isn’t available, you’ll need to wait until both conditions are met.
Task 2 – Catch 5 Unique Fish in the Sunken Reservoir
The second objective is much easier and doesn’t require any special weather. Head to the Sunken Reservoir, which is located directly behind the NPC who gives you the Awakening Serum Quest. Once you arrive:
- Fish in the reservoir.
- Catch 5 different fish species from that location.
Duplicates won’t count toward your progress, so continue fishing until you’ve collected five unique catches.
Task 3 – Catch 5 Unique Fish in the Claypans
The final objective takes place at the Claypans, but you’ll need to wait for the right weather before you can begin. Normally, the Claypans are dry and cannot be fished. They only become accessible during the Torrential Rain weather event.
How to Complete It
- Wait for Torrential Rain.
- Visit one of the flooded Claypans.
- Start fishing.
- Catch 5 unique fish from that location.
Like the previous task, only unique fish count toward the objective.

Two parts of the Awakening Serum Quest depend on special weather events.
Dust Storm
Required for:
- Terrosunder sand fishing objective.
Torrential Rain
Required for:
- Fishing inside the flooded Claypans.
If neither weather event is active, you’ll simply have to wait until they naturally occur before continuing the quest.
