The latest Fisch update introduces one of the biggest expansions yet with the arrival of the Drylands. This brand-new desert region offers a completely different way to play, featuring sand fishing, fossil hunting, dangerous weather, new rods, quests, and a massive prehistoric creature roaming beneath the dunes. On top of that, players can also enjoy a limited-time Fourth of July event with exclusive fish and rewards. If you’re wondering what’s new in this update, here’s everything you need to know.
Explore the New Drylands Desert
The Drylands is a brand-new desert biome filled with hidden locations, collectibles, and unique mechanics that are not available anywhere else in Fisch. Instead of spending all your time fishing in lakes or the ocean, you’ll now explore vast sand dunes, uncover buried fossils, and survive dangerous environmental hazards.
There are also plenty of hidden secrets scattered throughout the desert, making exploration just as important as fishing. However, be careful while exploring. A giant prehistoric creature known as the Terrosunder patrols the Drylands and can become a serious threat if you get too close.
Complete Petri’s New Questline
One of the main attractions of this update is a brand-new questline featuring Paleontologist Petri. Petri is researching the ancient history hidden beneath the desert sands and needs your help collecting fossils and making discoveries throughout the Drylands.
As you complete more objectives, you’ll unlock valuable rewards while progressing deeper into the mystery surrounding the ancient creatures buried below the dunes. Finishing the questline also moves you closer to awakening one of the update’s biggest secrets.
Experience New Desert Weather
The Drylands introduces exclusive weather events that directly affect fishing and exploration.
Dust Storm
Dust Storms are dangerous weather events that reduce visibility but reward players with:
- Increased Luck
- Exclusive fish
- Special catches only available during the storm
If you’re trying to complete the Drylands Bestiary, you’ll likely need to fish during these storms.
Torrential Rain
Although the Drylands is mostly dry, rare Torrential Rain events can occur. When this happens:
- Claypans become flooded
- New fishing opportunities appear
- Different fish become available
Watching the weather is now much more important than before since certain species only appear under specific conditions.
Try the New Sand Fishing System
One of the biggest gameplay additions is Sand Fishing. Instead of casting into water, you’ll use a brand-new tool called the Sand Sifter to fish directly in the desert. This system allows players to:
- Fish inside sand dunes
- Discover buried items
- Find rare fossils
- Collect prehistoric creatures
Sand Fishing is exclusive to the Drylands and offers an entirely different collection compared to traditional fishing.
Collect Ancient Fossils
Fossil collecting is another major feature introduced in this update. As you explore the Drylands, you’ll uncover ancient remains hidden beneath the sand. These fossil discoveries help expand your prehistoric collection while also contributing to Petri’s research. Players interested in completing every collection now have an entirely new category to work toward.
Watch Out for the Terrosunder
The Terrosunder is one of the most dangerous creatures added to Fisch. This massive prehistoric predator travels beneath the desert, unexpectedly surfacing while players explore. Getting too close can be extremely dangerous, so it’s important to stay alert while moving around the Drylands. Interestingly, the developers also hinted that players may eventually discover a method to awaken the Terrosunder’s true form, suggesting there is an even bigger challenge waiting to be uncovered.
Craft New Rods and Unlock New Equipment
Several new items have also been added to help players master the Drylands. These include:
- Marrow Rod
- Terrotrapper Rod
- Dune Enchantment
- Terroscuttler Companion
The Dune Enchantment allows nearly any fishing rod to perform better during sand fishing, while the new companion can assist players during their adventures across the desert.
Fourth of July Event Returns
Alongside the Drylands update, Fisch has also launched a limited-time Independence Day celebration. Players can participate in:
- Patriot Shark Hunts
- Limited-time patriotic Bestiary
- Exclusive event rewards
- Special event fish
Visit Liberty Larry at Fischfest to start the event and earn the exclusive seasonal rewards before the celebration ends.
Quality of Life Changes
This update also includes several improvements and balance changes. Notable changes include:
- Timers have been added to all Venue Takeover characters.
- Beak Bill has been improved with stronger overall abilities and increased rain luck.
- Penguin Pal now freezes enemies more frequently and for a longer duration.
- Silly Seal now attacks faster, deals stronger bites, and can consume more targets.
These buffs make companions more useful during regular gameplay.
New Fisch Drylands Code
Don’t forget to claim the newest code before it expires.
- DrylandsIsFire
- HAPPY4TH
Redeem it through the in-game code menu to receive the latest free rewards.
The Drylands update is one of the largest content expansions Fisch has received so far. Between the new desert biome, Sand Fishing system, fossil collecting, Petri’s questline, dangerous weather, powerful new rods, and the mysterious Terrosunder, there’s plenty for both new and veteran players to explore. Combined with the limited-time Fourth of July event and a fresh redeem code, this update offers plenty of reasons to jump back into Fisch and start uncovering everything hidden beneath the desert sands.
