Hakari, also known as Reckless Gambler, is one of the new Secret units introduced in Anime Vanguards Update 14. While obtaining Secret units is usually difficult, there’s a unique mechanic that allows every player in your party to earn Hakari for free if specific conditions are met during a Raid. The challenge isn’t defeating the boss—it’s completing a special card combination before the stage ends. Here’s everything you need to know about the easiest free method.
How to Get Hakari (Reckless Gambler)
To unlock Hakari, you’ll need to clear Raid Act 4 while activating both of the following special effects during the same run:
- High Roll Odd
- High Roll Even
If your team successfully triggers both effects and clears the raid, everyone participating in that run will receive Reckless Gambler (Hakari). Because the reward is shared, this method is much easier when playing with friends or coordinated teammates.
Why You Should Play With a Team
Although it’s technically possible to attempt this solo, doing so is extremely difficult due to the amount of luck required. Working with at least one or two other players lets everyone focus on different card combinations.
- Player 1 builds the High Roll Odd sequence.
- Player 2 builds the High Roll Even sequence.
- Players trade useful cards with each other.
This dramatically increases your chances of completing both requirements before the raid ends.
How High Roll Odd Works
To activate High Roll Odd, you must collect five odd-numbered cards that form a sequence.
- 1, 3, 5, 7, 9
- 3, 5, 7, 9, 11
The order inside your hand doesn’t matter, but all five numbers must be present. Every card must also belong to the same suit or logo. If even one card has a different logo, the sequence won’t count.
How High Roll Even Works
The High Roll Even requirement follows the same rules but uses even numbers instead. Possible sequences include:
- 2, 4, 6, 8, 10
- 4, 6, 8, 10, 12
Again, every card must share the exact same logo or suit. Mixing different logos will prevent the High Roll from activating.
Card Requirements
To summarize, every successful High Roll must meet these conditions:
- Five cards forming a valid sequence.
- All numbers must be either entirely odd or entirely even.
- Every card must have the same logo or suit.
- The sequence must be completed before the raid timer expires.
If all requirements are satisfied, you’ll trigger either High Roll Odd or High Roll Even.
Trade Cards With Your Teammates
Communication is one of the biggest advantages of this strategy. Instead of keeping every useful card for yourself, pass needed cards to teammates who are building the opposite sequence. For example:
- If you’re collecting odd cards, send even cards to your teammate.
- If your teammate needs a specific number like 10 or 3, prioritize giving it to them.
- Keep checking everyone’s progress throughout the match.
Even without voice chat, you can often tell which cards teammates need by looking at their current collections.
Beat the Boss After Both Buffs Activate
Once both High Roll Odd and High Roll Even have been triggered, the hardest part is over. Your only remaining objective is to finish the Raid by defeating the boss. After successfully clearing the stage, Hakari (Reckless Gambler) should be added to your inventory automatically.
Can You Farm Multiple Hakari Units?
- Yes.
As long as your group successfully completes both High Roll conditions and finishes the raid, you can repeat the process in future runs. This makes the method one of the fastest ways to farm multiple copies of Reckless Gambler if you have a reliable team.
Hakari (Reckless Gambler) may look like a difficult Secret unit to obtain, but Update 14 includes a surprisingly accessible method for coordinated teams. By completing both High Roll Odd and High Roll Even during a single Raid Act 4 run, every player in the party can earn the unit for free after clearing the stage. The biggest challenge is assembling the required card sequences before the raid timer expires, which is why teamwork is highly recommended. If your group communicates well and shares cards efficiently, Hakari can become one of the easiest Secret units to farm in Anime Vanguards Update 14.
