Jujutsu Zero Ten Shadows Guide: How to Unlock Every Shikigami!
The Ten Shadows Cursed Technique is one of the biggest additions to Jujutsu Zero, introducing a progression system far more detailed than other techniques. Instead of unlocking everything immediately, you’ll need to travel to Shadow Island, complete quests, defeat bosses, gather materials, and summon Shikigami through a special altar. This guide covers the entire Ten Shadows progression, including how to unlock the technique, farm Shadow Essence efficiently, obtain upgrade materials, and unlock every Shikigami.
How to Get the Ten Shadows Technique

Before starting the progression, you must first unlock the Ten Shadows Cursed Technique. Currently, the primary method is by rolling for it through the Banner using Cursed Crystals. Once you obtain the technique, you can begin working on its progression system.
How to Unlock Shadow Island
Most Ten Shadows content takes place on Shadow Island. To enter the island:
- Obtain a Secret Ticket.
- Return to the spawn area.
- Speak with the Shadow Island NPC.
- Use the Secret Ticket to teleport.
Without the ticket, you won’t be able to access the island.
The Secret Ticket drops from the mini bosses located on Summer Island. These bosses spawn frequently, making them the best source for the ticket. Simply continue defeating the available mini bosses until one eventually drops the Secret Ticket.
What to do in The Shadow Island?

1. Complete Megumi’s Quests First
After arriving on Shadow Island, your first priority should be completing Megumi’s quests. These quests reward Shadow Essence, which is required to summon Shikigami at the altar. There are currently two introductory quests.
2. Shatter the Pillars
For this quest, destroy three Shadow Pillars scattered around the island. Each pillar has:
- 550 Health
- Only receives base damage
- Does not fight back
Although destroying them takes a little time, the quest is very easy because there are no enemies to deal with.
3. Gathering Essence
The second quest asks you to collect six quest items around Shadow Island. Every item is marked on your screen, allowing you to complete the quest quickly by following the objective markers.
4. Shadow Essence Rewards
Each Megumi quest rewards:
- 6 Shadow Essence
Since each altar summon requires exactly 6 Shadow Essence, completing both quests gives you enough resources for your first summons without additional farming.
How to Farm Shadow Essence Fast
Jujutsu Zero
After finishing the quests, your main objective becomes farming Shadow Essence from Shadow Island’s mini bosses. Each boss drops different rewards and has its own respawn timer.
- Bunny 3 Minutes
- Shiro 10 Minutes
- Kuro 10 Minutes
- Nue 20 Minutes
- Mahoraga 30 Minutes
Instead of waiting for one boss to respawn, defeat every available boss before moving to another server.
Best Shadow Essence Farming Method
The fastest farming strategy is server hopping.
A good farming route looks like this:
- Join a Shadow Island server.
- Defeat every available mini boss.
- Collect all Shadow Essence.
- Switch to another server.
- Repeat the process.
This method is much faster than waiting for long respawn timers, especially for Nue and Mahoraga.
How the Shikigami Altar Works
Once you’ve collected 6 Shadow Essence, head to the Shikigami Altar. Insert all six Shadow Essence to begin a summon. Instead of giving you a reward immediately, the altar summons a random Shikigami Raid. Because the summon is random, you may need multiple attempts before getting the specific Shikigami you’re looking for.
Shikigami Raid Rewards
After defeating a summoned raid, you’ll receive a unique tag and upgrade materials. Each raid provides different rewards.
- Shiro Shiro Tag, Light Fur
- Kuro Kuro Tag, Dark Fur
- Nue Nue Tag, Sharp Talons
- Mahoraga Mahoraga Tag, Wheel Fragment
Each Shikigami uses its own materials and tags, meaning progress for one doesn’t count toward another.
How to Upgrade Shikigami
Every Shikigami has its own mastery tree. To unlock upgrades, you’ll need:
- The correct Shikigami Tag
- Its matching crafting material
Because every mastery tree uses different resources, you’ll need to repeatedly farm all of the available raids if you want to fully complete the Ten Shadows progression.
Rare Boss Drops
Some bosses also have exclusive rare rewards.
- Nue Nue has a chance to drop the Shadow Nue Gear. This special item unlocks the Shadow Nue Mount, giving players another flying mount option.
- Mahoraga Mahoraga can drop the False Wheel Accessory. This accessory provides: 125% Ten Shadows Technique Amplifier! It’s considered one of the best accessories for players using Ten Shadows as their primary cursed technique.
The Ten Shadows system is one of the deepest progression mechanics in Jujutsu Zero. Unlocking the technique is only the first step—you’ll also need to obtain the Secret Ticket, travel to Shadow Island, complete Megumi’s quests, farm Shadow Essence, defeat Shikigami raids, and collect unique tags and materials for every mastery tree. If you want to progress efficiently, focus on completing the introductory quests first, redeem the available codes, and use server hopping to farm mini bosses. With enough Shadow Essence and materials, you’ll eventually unlock every Shikigami and fully develop your Ten Shadows build.
