Choosing your first companion is one of the earliest decisions you’ll make in Catch A Brainrot. While it may seem like a major choice, the game keeps things fairly balanced by giving each starter the same rarity and removing traditional elemental advantages.

Instead of worrying about type matchups, you should pay close attention to each Brainrot’s starting abilities. The right move set can make leveling easier, help you defeat early NPC Trainers faster, and speed up your progress through the opening areas. Here’s a breakdown of every starter and which one offers the best early-game performance.

All Starter Brainrots

When beginning a new adventure, you’ll choose between three Common-rarity Brainrots:

  • Boneca Ambalabu
  • Frulli Frulla
  • TungTungTung Sahur

Since all three start at the same rarity, none has higher base stats simply because of rarity. Their biggest difference comes from the moves they learn at the start of the game.

1. Boneca Ambalabu

Boneca Ambalabu is one of the strongest starter choices available.

Its early move set includes both Shield and Bomb, giving it excellent balance between offense and defense. Shield helps reduce incoming damage during longer battles, while Bomb deals strong damage that can quickly defeat weaker opponents.

This combination makes Boneca Ambalabu effective for both exploring new areas and challenging NPC Trainers.

If you prefer a dependable all-around starter that performs well in almost every situation, this is an excellent pick.

2. TungTungTung Sahur

TungTungTung Sahur is equally strong and shares the same powerful opening move set as Boneca Ambalabu.

Like its counterpart, it begins with Shield for survivability and Bomb for reliable damage output. Because both starters have identical early abilities, their overall performance throughout the beginning of the game is nearly identical.

Your decision between these two mostly comes down to personal preference or which character design you like more.

3. Frulli Frulla

Frulli Frulla isn’t a bad starter, but it has a less effective move set during the early stages of the game.

Without the same offensive and defensive combination offered by the other two options, early battles can take slightly longer and require more careful play.

You’ll still be able to complete the game’s opening content without major issues, but players looking for the smoothest start may find the other two Brainrots more efficient.

Which Starter Is the Best?

For most players, Boneca Ambalabu and TungTungTung Sahur are tied for the top spot. Because they both begin with Shield and Bomb, they offer excellent survivability while maintaining strong damage against early enemies. These moves make farming wild Brainrots, defeating NPC Trainers, and progressing through the first zones much easier.

Since their performance is nearly identical, there isn’t a clear winner between the two. If you’re deciding purely based on gameplay, you can confidently choose either one.

Does Your Starter Matter in the Long Run?

Not as much as you might think. As you continue exploring the different worlds, you’ll encounter many additional Brainrots that can be captured and added to your team. Eventually, your starter becomes just one member of a much larger collection.

Because of this, your first choice has a much greater impact during the early game than it does later on. You’ll regularly replace or expand your lineup as you discover stronger Brainrots throughout your adventure.

Although Catch A Brainrot offers three starter Brainrots, two of them clearly stand out for new players. Both Boneca Ambalabu and TungTungTung Sahur begin with one of the strongest early-game move combinations, making battles easier and helping you progress through the opening worlds with less difficulty.

If your goal is the smoothest possible start, either of these two starters is an excellent choice. However, since the game doesn’t feature elemental advantages and you’ll eventually collect many more Brainrots, don’t worry too much about making the “perfect” decision. Pick the one you enjoy the most and focus on building a stronger team as you continue your journey.
