Evomon Boltonia Guide: How to Get, Type Chart, Best Counters, & More!
Boltonia is one of the newest Evomon introduced during the Season 1 update. This majestic Electric-type resembles a lightning-infused horse and stands out as one of the season’s limited-time rewards. Thanks to its impressive offensive power and exclusive availability, many players are eager to unlock Boltonia before the season comes to an end. Here’s everything you need to know about Boltonia, including its strengths, weaknesses, best matchups, counters, and how to obtain it.
How to Get Boltonia in Evomon
Unlike most Evomon, Boltonia cannot be found roaming the world or obtained through regular gameplay. Instead, it is earned through the Season 1 Battle Pass.
To unlock Boltonia, you’ll need to progress to Battle Pass Level 10, where you’ll receive the Boltonia Egg. This egg guarantees an S-Rank Boltonia, making it one of the most valuable early Battle Pass rewards.
Since Boltonia is tied to the Season 1 Battle Pass, it may become unavailable once the season concludes. Players who want to add it to their collection should prioritize reaching Level 10 before the season expires.
It’s also worth noting that Astraknight, the Battle Pass-exclusive Fighting-type Evomon from the first pass, remains permanently available.
Boltonia Type Chart
As an Electric-type Evomon, Boltonia excels against several popular elements while struggling against others. Understanding its elemental advantages is key to using it effectively in battles.
Strengths
Boltonia deals double damage (2x) against:
- Water
- Flying
- Steel
These matchups make Boltonia an excellent choice when facing opponents that rely on aerial or water-based Evomon.
Weaknesses
Boltonia receives double damage (2x) from:
- Ground
- Rock
Avoid using Boltonia against teams built around these elements, as they can quickly take advantage of its weaknesses.
Resistances
Boltonia only takes half damage (0.5x) from:
- Flying
- Steel
Its natural resistance allows it to survive longer against opponents that primarily use these elemental attacks.
Best Evomon to Counter Boltonia

If you’re battling against Boltonia, bringing Rock or Ground-type Evomon is the safest strategy. These elements exploit Boltonia’s weaknesses and can deal heavy damage throughout the fight. Recommended counters include:
- Fluffet Evolution Line (including Fluffastar) – Rock
- Gulpfish Evolution Line (including Mirefish) – Ground
- Mudbud Evolution Line (including Mudthorn and Thordlord) – Ground
- Spikub Evolution Line (including Spikumane) – Ground
- Lavite Evolution Line (including Lavarock) – Fire
- Pebble Evolution Line (including Pebroll and Pebgolem) – Rock
Although Gulpfish and Mirefish also possess the Water element, it provides no additional advantage against Boltonia. Likewise, the Grass typing found on Mudbud’s evolution line doesn’t significantly affect the matchup.
Does Boltonia Evolve?
Currently, Boltonia does not have any evolution stages. It has no pre-evolution or evolved form, making it a standalone Evomon exclusive to the Season 1 Battle Pass. If you’re looking for other Electric-type options, Arcub and Arcapex are solid alternatives that share the same primary element.
Boltonia is one of the standout additions in Evomon Season 1, combining strong Electric-type attacks with limited-time availability through the Battle Pass. Its ability to counter Water, Flying, and Steel opponents makes it a valuable choice for many team compositions, while its exclusive status gives players another reason to progress through the seasonal rewards. If you plan to collect every seasonal Evomon, reaching Battle Pass Level 10 should be one of your first priorities before Season 1 comes to an end.
