Anime Expeditions Evolution Guide: All Evolution Requirements, Materials, and How to Evolve Units

Evolving characters is one of the best ways to strengthen your roster in Anime Expeditions. While the process requires a considerable amount of Gold, Sprites, and exclusive evolution materials, the upgraded versions of each unit become significantly stronger thanks to improved stats and exclusive passive abilities. Because of this, evolving your best characters should be one of your long-term goals. This guide covers every evolution currently available in Anime Expeditions, including all required materials, where to farm evolution items, how to collect Sprites efficiently, and the steps needed to evolve your units.

All Unit Evolution Requirements in Anime Expeditions

Every evolution requires Gold along with several Sprites and, in most cases, a unique evolution item. Here’s every currently available evolution requirement.

Where to Farm Evolution Items in Anime Expeditions

Gathering evolution materials efficiently requires participating in multiple game modes rather than focusing on a single activity. Daily and Weekly Challenges should always be your top priority because they consistently reward valuable Sprites and crafting materials.

You should also spend time completing Story stages, Raids, and Trials whenever possible, as these activities drop the exclusive evolution items needed by specific characters. If you are away from the game, leaving your character inside the AFK Chamber can also provide additional resources over time, making it an easy way to collect extra materials without actively grinding.

All Evolution Item Locations

Each special evolution material comes from a specific Trial or crafting recipe. Knowing exactly where to obtain these items can save a significant amount of farming time.

  • Puppet Heart
    • Complete the A Puppet’s Heart Trial in the Fairy King Forest Story.
  • Holy Pendant
    • Craft it at the Crafting Station using: 10,000 Gold 3 Pink Sprites 3 Red Sprites Joker of the Nonsensical Pirates
    • Earned by clearing the Strings of Captivity Trial in the Rose Kingdom Story.
  • Student ID
    • Drops from the Love & Loss Trial in the School Grounds Story.
  • Burning Fruit
    • Awarded after completing the Fire That Spread Trial.
  • Cosmic Magic
    • Obtained by finishing the Last Great Elvan Mage Trial in the King’s Tomb Story.
  • Salmon
    • Rewarded from the Tuna Tuna Trial in the School Grounds Story.

Many of these items are tied to Story progression, so unlocking additional Story chapters will naturally give you access to more evolution materials.

How to Get Every Sprite

Sprites are required for nearly every evolution in Anime Expeditions. While their colors differ depending on the character you’re evolving, most of them share similar farming methods.

  • Blue Sprite Earned from Challenges or crafted at the Crafting Station.
  • Green Sprite Available through Challenges and Crafting.
  • Pink Sprite Obtained by completing Challenges or crafting.
  • Purple Sprite Earned through Challenges and Crafting.
  • Red Sprite Rewarded from Challenges or crafted.
  • Yellow Sprite Available from Challenges and Crafting.
  • Rainbow Sprite Earned from Daily Challenges, Weekly Challenges, and Crafting.

Rainbow Sprites are the rarest of the group and are used in nearly every evolution. Since Weekly Challenges provide one of the most reliable sources for these items, completing them consistently is highly recommended.

How to Evolve Units in Anime Expeditions

Once you’ve collected every required material, evolving a character only takes a few moments. Head to the main lobby and locate the Upgrades Room, which can be found on the right side of the central courtyard.

Inside the room, interact with the Evolve Portal by pressing E. The evolution interface will appear, allowing you to select any eligible unit in your inventory. If you’ve gathered enough Gold and materials, simply confirm the evolution to upgrade your character instantly. The evolved version will retain its role while gaining improved performance, stronger abilities, and exclusive passive effects that make it far more effective in challenging game modes.

Final Tips for Faster Evolutions

Building evolved units takes patience, but prioritizing the right activities can greatly reduce the grind. Complete Daily and Weekly Challenges whenever they reset, clear Story Trials for exclusive evolution items, participate in Raids whenever available, and craft missing Sprites whenever you have enough resources. By steadily collecting materials instead of targeting only one character at a time, you’ll be able to evolve multiple units much faster and build a stronger team for every mode Anime Expeditions has to offer.
