Fisch Roaming Fish Update Guide: Water Park Quests, Crew Changes, and Harpoon Preview
The latest Fisch update introduces one of the game’s biggest quality-of-life improvements yet. Players can now spot roaming fish throughout the world, making it much easier to target specific species instead of relying entirely on luck. Alongside the new fishing mechanic, the update also expands Fischfest with a Water Park, adds Crew improvements, refreshes the settings menu, and teases next week’s highly anticipated Harpoon Gun update. Here’s everything included in the latest Fisch update.
Roaming Fish Are Now Available
The headline feature is the new Roaming Fish system. Fish now visibly swim through the world’s waters, allowing players to identify certain species before casting their line.
Instead of fishing blindly, simply cast near a roaming fish to receive a much higher chance of catching that exact species. While the catch isn’t guaranteed, the boosted odds make collecting quest fish, Bestiary entries, and rare species much easier than before.
If you have trouble spotting fish, especially on lower graphics settings, equip the Fish Radar. Holding it reveals silhouettes of nearby roaming fish beneath the water, making them much easier to locate. Overall, this feature makes fishing feel far more interactive while reducing the frustration of hunting specific catches.
Spear Fishing Has Been Reworked

The update also reworks spear fishing to better complement the new roaming fish mechanic.
Instead of the older system, players now use alternating mouse inputs to catch fish after successfully targeting them. The new controls make spear fishing more engaging and responsive than before.
Although spear fishing still feels more limited than traditional rods, the updated mechanics lay the groundwork for next week’s Harpoon Guns, which are expected to expand the system even further.
Fischfest Water Park Opens
Fischfest has received a brand-new Water Park area filled with slides, pools, and a lazy river.
However, the attraction isn’t immediately operational. After arriving, you’ll meet Water Park Wade, who explains that construction debris has clogged the park’s pipes.
Your first objective is to clean the system by fishing junk from several locations around the park.
These include:
- Water slides
- Swimming pool
- Lazy river
You’ll need to make multiple successful catches at each location before the water begins flowing normally.
Complete Wade’s Water Park Quest
Once you’ve removed enough debris, return to Wade to complete the first part of the questline. He’ll then ask you to test every attraction by visiting:
- The pool
- The water slides
- The lazy river
After checking each attraction, speak with Wade again to receive your reward. Completing this quest grants the Sunslasher Popsicle Float, a new cosmetic float for your boat collection.
Help Visitors Recover Their Missing Floaties
Several NPCs around the Water Park also need help retrieving lost floaties. Each NPC asks you to catch a specific floaty from a different section of the park before returning it. Known floaty rewards include:
- Puffer Fish Floaty
- Crab Floaty
- Dumbo Octopus Floaty
Each completed quest rewards you with the matching floaty cosmetic, allowing you to expand your collection while exploring the Water Park.
Crew System Receives New Features
The update also introduces several welcome improvements for crews. New additions include:
- Monthly Crew Ratings
- Daily Crew Challenges
- Improved Crew progression
- Additional reward opportunities
These changes give players more reasons to stay active with their crews outside of leaderboard competition while encouraging regular participation through daily objectives.
Settings Menu Has Been Updated
The developers have also refreshed the settings menu, making navigation cleaner and easier to use. While it isn’t a massive gameplay change, the updated interface should make adjusting graphics, controls, and other options more convenient, particularly as additional features continue to be added in future updates.
Double XP Weekend Is Live
To celebrate the update, Fisch is also running a Double XP Weekend. This event allows players to level up much faster while completing quests, catching fish, and participating in Fischfest activities, making it an excellent opportunity to progress your account.
Harpoon Guns Arrive Next Week
Although they’re not available yet, the update also previews next week’s biggest feature: Harpoon Guns. According to the developers, every Harpoon Gun will feature its own:
- Unique stats
- Passive abilities
- Individual handling and playstyle
Unlike the current spear system, Harpoon Guns are designed specifically around the new roaming fish mechanic, creating an entirely new method of catching fish. The developers have also confirmed that additional enchantments and gameplay improvements will arrive alongside the new weapons.
Is the Roaming Fish Update Worth It?
The Roaming Fish system is easily the highlight of this update. Being able to visually locate fish before casting dramatically improves the overall fishing experience and makes completing Bestiaries, quests, and rare fish collections much less dependent on random luck.
While the Fischfest Water Park offers a handful of enjoyable side quests and collectible floaties, it mainly serves as a fun event area rather than a major gameplay expansion. Meanwhile, the Crew improvements and settings overhaul provide useful quality-of-life upgrades that should benefit both new and veteran players. With Harpoon Guns launching next week, this update feels like the beginning of a much larger fishing overhaul, giving players plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks.
