Season 17 Brings a Festival Theme
Season 17 introduces a colorful festival celebration across Volleyball Legends. Besides refreshing the game’s appearance, the season also adds plenty of collectible cosmetics that players can unlock throughout the event.
New Score Effects
Players can collect four new score animations:
- Season 17 Pro Score Effect
- Strobe Light Score Effect
- Everybody Dance Score Effect
- Music Note Rain Score Effect
These effects add unique visual flair whenever your team scores.
New Emotes
Three new emotes have also been added:
- Ride a Firework
- Festival Guitar
- Scuba
Whether you’re celebrating a victory or simply showing off in the lobby, these emotes offer new ways to customize your character.
New Volleyballs
Season 17 includes several new ball skins:
- Bronze Festival Ball
- Silver Festival Ball
- Golden Festival Ball
- Diamond Festival Ball
- Winged Ball
Each ball gives players additional cosmetic customization without affecting gameplay.
New Player Cards and Profile Art
Players can also unlock fresh profile cosmetics, including:
- Strobe Lights Player Card
- Festival Dynamic Player Card
- Fireworks Profile Art
These cosmetics continue the festival theme introduced throughout the season.
Style Bans Added to Pro+ Ranked
One of the biggest gameplay changes in Update 79 is the introduction of Style Bans for higher-ranked matches.
Beginning in Season 17, every Pro Rank and above match now includes a ban phase before the game starts.
Here’s how it works:
- Each team can ban one Style.
- Every ranked match will have two total bans.
- Bans happen before the match begins.
- The system only applies to Pro+ Ranked games.
This feature encourages more strategic team compositions while preventing dominant Styles from appearing in every competitive match.
All Balance Changes in Update 79
Several of the game’s strongest Styles received adjustments this update. Some were nerfed, while others received buffs or complete reworks.
Encho Rework
Encho has undergone the largest redesign in Update 79.
Changes include:
- Base movement speed reduced to match Sanju.
- Middle upgrade path now loses 1% speed per upgrade.
- Left upgrade path now gains 1% speed per upgrade.
- Maximum Middle Mastery reduces hitbox size by 5%.
- Maximum Right Mastery now grants buffed spikes worth half of Taichou’s spike buff.
Overall, Encho now offers more meaningful upgrade choices instead of relying on a single dominant build.
Kazana Nerfs
Kazana receives noticeable offensive reductions.
Changes include:
- Maximum Spike strength reduced by approximately 10%.
- Spike gravity at maximum jump charge has also been reduced.
These adjustments should make Kazana slightly easier to defend against during high-level matches.
Akari Rework
Akari’s movement has been adjusted to promote a more aggressive playstyle.
Changes include:
- Dash canceling has returned.
- Players can now perform only one action during each jump.
- Repeated back-block spam has been removed.
These changes encourage offensive positioning while limiting defensive abuse.
Hakka Buff
Hakka players receive an upgrade focused on clone gameplay.
Changes include:
- Advanced controls are now available for clone jumpsets.
This provides better control and flexibility when using Hakka’s unique mechanics.
Ronin Buff
Ronin has become stronger right from the start.
Changes include:
- Previous Mastery 2 and Mastery 4 upgrades are now included in the base version.
- New Mastery 2 and Mastery 4 upgrades instead improve spike charge speed.
This gives Ronin a stronger early-game performance while still rewarding progression.
Riku Nerf
Riku’s signature wall ricochet mechanic has been toned down.
Changes include:
- Wall ricochet now reduces the volleyball’s speed by 25%.
This makes ricochet plays less overwhelming while still keeping the mechanic useful.
New Festival Map
Update 79 also refreshes one of Volleyball Legends’ most recognizable arenas.
The rooftop map has received a complete festival makeover featuring brighter visuals and seasonal decorations.
The redesigned map will:
- Become the primary map for regular matches.
- Join the permanent map voting rotation.
- Feature the new Season 17 festival atmosphere.
Although gameplay remains unchanged, the visual overhaul gives matches a fresh look throughout the season.
2x Luck Event Returns
One of the most exciting parts of Update 79 is the return of the limited-time 2x Luck Event.

- Secret Pity reduced from 200 to 100

This makes Update 79 one of the best opportunities to roll for rare content.
