What Are Mutations in Throw a Coin?
A mutation is a special modifier that can randomly be applied to an item. Instead of receiving the standard version, you may obtain a mutated variant with an increased selling price and unique appearance. Each mutation has its own value multiplier, allowing some items to become worth dozens—or even hundreds—of times more than their original value. Currently, there are five mutations available in the game.
All Throw a Coin Mutations
Here’s every mutation currently available and the bonus it provides.
- Big The Big mutation increases an item’s value by 3x. In addition to the higher selling price, the item becomes approximately twice the size of its normal version, making it easy to recognize in your inventory.
- Huge The Huge mutation raises an item’s value by 6x. These items are significantly larger than standard collectibles, reaching roughly four times their original size while providing a substantial profit increase.
- Rainbow The Rainbow mutation multiplies an item’s value by 12x. Instead of remaining one color, Rainbow items constantly cycle through different colors, giving them one of the most eye-catching appearances in the game.
- Astral Astral is one of the rarer mutations available through normal gameplay. Benefits include: 25x value multiplier, Large item size, & Purple cosmic appearance! Because of its impressive multiplier, Astral items are excellent additions to any collection.
- Divine The Divine mutation is currently the rarest and most valuable mutation available. It offers an incredible: 120x value multiplier, Unlike the other mutations, Divine items cannot be obtained naturally from the fountain and require the Mutation Machine.
How to Get Mutated Items
There are two primary methods for obtaining mutated items.
1. Throw Coins Into the Fountain
The simplest method is using the fountain. Every time you throw a coin, there’s a random chance that the item you receive will already contain a mutation. Naturally obtainable mutations include:
- Big
- Huge
- Rainbow
- Astral
Big and Huge appear more frequently, while Rainbow and Astral are much rarer. The Divine mutation does not appear through normal fountain rewards.
2. Use the Mutation Machine
The second method is the Mutation Machine. Unlike the fountain, the Mutation Machine allows you to combine duplicate items and attempt to create a stronger mutated version. It can produce every available mutation, including the exclusive Divine mutation.
Where to Find & Use Mutation Machine
The Mutation Machine is located near the Worlds Portal. Once you find it, interact with the machine to begin combining duplicate items into a single mutated version. Using the Mutation Machine is straightforward. Follow these steps:
- Open the Mutation Machine.
- Insert at least two copies of the same item.
- Pay the required amount of in-game cash.
- Start the mutation process.
- Wait for the timer to finish.
When the process completes, all inserted items are consumed, and you’ll receive one mutated version of that item.
Remember that the machine always combines identical items. Different collectibles cannot be merged together.
Can You Get Divine Naturally?
No.
The Divine mutation is exclusive to the Mutation Machine. No matter how many coins you throw into the fountain, Divine items will never appear naturally. If you’re aiming for the highest possible value multiplier, you’ll need to use duplicate items and rely on the Mutation Machine.

From a value standpoint, the mutations rank as follows:
