The latest Sell Lemons update focuses heavily on quality-of-life improvements, making progression smoother while also teasing a much larger expansion in the near future. Although this isn’t a massive content update, players can still enjoy several useful features, including new companions, improved orchard management, customizable settings, and an early look at the mysterious Stargate area. Here’s everything added in the latest Sell Lemons update and how each feature works.

Stargate Teases the Next Major Expansion

The biggest surprise in Update 1.2.0 is the introduction of Project Stargate. While players cannot fully access the new content yet, the update adds an entirely new area that serves as a preview of what’s coming next. The Stargate is located in Lemon X, near the Space Center at the far end of the map. To reach it:

  • Unlock Lemon X.
  • Have at least 1 Ascension.
  • Board the UFO to travel to the Space Center.
  • Purchase the available unlocks in the area.

After exploring the new location, you’ll eventually reach a large door labeled “Coming Soon.” This confirms that the Stargate itself isn’t available yet and is instead preparing players for the next major update. Given the size of the area, many players expect the Stargate expansion to introduce an entirely new progression system, map, or tycoon.

Skip Cutscenes for Faster Progression

One of the most requested features has finally arrived. Players can now disable certain in-game cutscenes through the Settings menu. How to Enable It

  • Settings
  • Scroll to the bottom
  • Enable Skip Cutscenes

Once activated, many repetitive animations will no longer interrupt gameplay. This is especially useful for:

  • Evolutions
  • Ascensions
  • Other repeatable progression sequences

For players who evolve frequently, this feature significantly speeds up grinding sessions.

Disable Phone Offer Pop-Ups

Another helpful quality-of-life addition is the option to hide phone notifications. Previously, promotional offers regularly appeared in the corner of the screen, which many late-game players found distracting. Now you can simply disable them. To do this:

  • Open Settings.
  • Turn off Show Phone Offers.

Early-game players may still want to leave this enabled since some offers provide useful rewards, but experienced players can safely disable the pop-ups for a cleaner interface.

New Companion System

Sell Lemons Update 1.2.0 Guide: All New Features, Companions, Stargate, and Quality-of-Life Changes

The update introduces a brand-new Companion feature. Companions are cosmetic pets that follow your character around the map. Although they currently provide no gameplay bonuses, they offer another collection goal for completionists. There are currently six companions available. Known unlock methods include:

  • Grow a 10-Star Fruit.
  • Evolve once.
  • Reach 777 Ascensions.
  • Complete 100% of the game’s achievements.
  • Participate in special chaotic events.
  • Unlock another event-exclusive companion.

Future updates may expand the system or even add gameplay effects, but for now companions are purely cosmetic.

Remove Uranium From Orchard Plots

One of the most practical additions lets players remove Enriched Uranium from orchard plots. Previously, uranium permanently guaranteed two mutations on every fruit grown in the plot. While that sounds helpful, many advanced mutation strategies actually require only a single mutation before combining additional effects. Now players can remove uranium whenever needed.

How to Remove Uranium

  • Select the orchard plot.
  • Open the Upgrade menu.
  • Sell the Enriched Uranium upgrade.

This allows players to switch between different mutation strategies much more easily.

Hold to Purchase Upgrades

Buying upgrades is now more convenient.

Instead of repeatedly clicking upgrade buttons, players can simply:

  • Hold the left mouse button.
  • Continue purchasing upgrades automatically.

This only applies to upgrade buttons for now.

Some actions still require repeated clicking, including:

  • Remote purchases
  • Selling large numbers of seeds
  • Certain shop interactions

Although not available everywhere yet, this feature still reduces repetitive clicking during progression.

New Orchard Visual Effects

Fruit mutations now include improved visual effects inside your orchard.

Trees with rare mutations glow much more noticeably than before, making them easier to identify at a glance.

Some of the updated visuals include:

  • Brighter glowing trees
  • Improved mutation effects
  • Enhanced color variations
  • More noticeable rare mutations

This makes managing large orchards much easier without needing to inspect every individual tree.

Improved Fruit Collection

Another welcome change affects fruit harvesting.

Players using the Expert Picker now collect multiple fruits simultaneously, making orchard management noticeably faster.

For large farms, this reduces the amount of manual interaction needed during harvesting.

New Alien Visitors

The update also introduces mysterious aliens appearing around Lemon X.

According to the patch notes, these aliens promise live rewards, although their full purpose has yet to be fully explained.

Players should keep an eye out for these encounters as more features become available in future updates.

Inventory Improvements

Several inventory changes have also been implemented.

These include:

  • Fruit inventory order no longer changing unexpectedly because of auto-sorting.
  • Fruit names remaining consistent throughout the game.
  • Improved handling of fruit effects.

These small adjustments help make inventory management more reliable.

Event Notifications Added

Players will now notice additional event notifications throughout the world.

These notifications make it easier to:

  • Track ongoing activities.
  • Find active events.
  • Stay informed about limited-time content.

Performance Improvements

The developers also included several optimization updates.

These improvements include:

  • Better performance for smaller tycoon details.
  • Improved giant mutation visuals.
  • More stable mutation effects.
  • General optimization across the game world.

While not immediately noticeable for everyone, these updates should provide smoother gameplay overall.

Bug Fixes Included in the Update

Update 1.2.0 also resolves a variety of issues affecting gameplay.

Some of the fixes include:

  • Controller navigation improvements.
  • Cash display visual fixes.
  • Walk speed correctly resetting after consuming fruit.
  • Giant mutations scaling properly.
  • Improved Slimy mutation gravity effects.
  • Fruit effects consistently activating when eating multiple fruits quickly.

These fixes address several long-standing issues reported by the community.

While Update 1.2.0 doesn’t introduce a massive amount of new gameplay content, it delivers several highly requested quality-of-life improvements that make Sell Lemons much more enjoyable to play. Features like skipping cutscenes, removing uranium upgrades, improved harvesting, and the new companion system all streamline progression while giving players additional goals to work toward.

Perhaps the most exciting addition is the Stargate preview, which clearly hints at a much larger expansion in the future. Although the mysterious door remains locked for now, its arrival suggests that the next major update could introduce an entirely new area and progression path, making it one of the most anticipated updates for Sell Lemons so far.
