Universal Tower Defense Z Puzzle Piece Guide: All 4 Hidden Locations (Isagi Quest)

Unlocking Isagi in Universal Tower Defense Z requires players to complete the Egoist (Despair of Defeat) questline. One of the most challenging objectives asks you to locate four hidden Puzzle Pieces scattered throughout the main lobby. While the first piece is relatively easy to spot, the remaining locations are tucked away on rooftops and hidden corners, making them easy to overlook. This guide covers every Puzzle Piece location and explains how to begin the Egoist questline.

How to Start the Egoist (Despair of Defeat) Quest

Before searching for the Puzzle Pieces, you’ll need to unlock the quest. To begin:

  • Go to the World Train area in the main lobby.
  • Look for the Footballer NPC standing near the green entrance door.
  • Speak with the NPC to activate the Egoist (Despair of Defeat) questline.

Once you’ve accepted the quest, you’ll be able to complete each objective, including collecting the hidden Puzzle Pieces.

All Puzzle Piece Locations in Universal Tower Defense Z

There are four Puzzle Pieces hidden across the lobby. You must collect all of them to complete this part of the quest.

Puzzle Piece Location 1

The first Puzzle Piece is found near the World Train area. Here’s how to find it:

  • Travel to the World Train landmark opposite the Summon area.
  • Walk down the stairs into the underground station.
  • Turn to the right after reaching the lower level.
  • You’ll see a train with a narrow walkway beside it.
  • Cross the path to the opposite side.

The first Puzzle Piece is waiting at the end of the walkway.

Puzzle Piece Location 2

The second Puzzle Piece is hidden on top of a nearby building. To reach it:

  • Start at the Footballer NPC.
  • Walk toward the right until you reach the Luffy (Rubberman) NPC.
  • Find the building directly beside the NPC.
  • Climb onto the rooftop using well-timed jumps.
  • Use double jumps when necessary to reach the highest point.

The Puzzle Piece is sitting on the roof.

Because of the platforming involved, this is generally considered the hardest Puzzle Piece to collect.

Puzzle Piece Location 3

The third Puzzle Piece is located near the Event area. Follow these steps:

  • Head toward the bridge leading to the Event Area.
  • Locate the two staircases beside the bridge.
  • Take the left staircase.
  • Continue until you find a shop with a closed shutter.
  • Look beside the electrical panels near the building.

You’ll find the third Puzzle Piece hidden there.

Puzzle Piece Location 4

The final Puzzle Piece is hidden inside the area where the Mysterious Witch NPC appears. To collect it:

  • Travel toward the Play & Extras section of the lobby.
  • Continue walking straight until you reach the Mysterious Witch NPC.
  • Enter the nearby fenced compound.
  • Look beside the parked police car.

The fourth and final Puzzle Piece can be found there.

Egoist (Despair of Defeat) Quest Objectives

Finding the Puzzle Pieces is only one step in the complete Isagi questline.

You’ll also need to complete the following objectives:

  1. Talk to the Footballer NPC.
  2. Score 10 goals in Football Game Mode.
  3. Collect all 4 hidden Puzzle Pieces.
  4. Win a Football Game Mode match while having 5 Boundless Units in your lobby.
  5. Evolve Blue Rose.

Completing every objective rewards you with progress toward unlocking the Isagi unit.

Tips for Finding the Puzzle Pieces

To make your search easier, keep these tips in mind:

  • Begin at the World Train and work around the lobby in a circle to avoid missing any locations.
  • Use double jump whenever climbing buildings or reaching higher platforms.
  • Check around landmarks like NPCs, bridges, and special areas, as most Puzzle Pieces are hidden near important points of interest.
  • Make sure you’ve already accepted the Egoist quest before collecting the Puzzle Pieces so your progress counts.

Collecting all four Puzzle Pieces is one of the more exploration-focused objectives in Universal Tower Defense Z. While some pieces are hidden in plain sight, others require careful platforming or searching around less-traveled parts of the lobby. Once you’ve gathered every Puzzle Piece and completed the remaining Egoist quest objectives, you’ll be one step closer to unlocking Isagi and adding another powerful unit to your collection.
