Anime Expeditions Update 0.5 is expected to arrive soon, bringing new content, possible characters, and another map for players to explore. While the developers haven’t revealed every detail yet, several teasers have already given players a good idea of what could be included in the next update. If you want to be ready on day one, now is the best time to prepare. Here’s everything we know about Update 0.5 and what you should do before it goes live.
A New Naruto-Inspired Map Is Coming
One of the biggest reveals so far is a brand-new map inspired by the Naruto series. The developers shared a short preview, and based on what was shown, many players believe this will become the next Story Mode map. Although this hasn’t been officially confirmed, it seems like the most likely option. If it is a Story Mode stage, players can expect content similar to previous maps, including:
- Five Story Acts
- Infinite Mode
- Mastery Stage
- First-clear rewards
- New food items
- New equipment
- Possible exclusive equipment from Mastery
There’s still a chance the map could be part of a special event or trial instead, so players should wait for the official announcement.
Possible New Units in Update 0.5
Several teasers also hint at new characters joining Anime Expeditions. While none of them have been officially confirmed, these are the most likely additions.
Grimmjow
A teaser featuring a skull and the word “Sixth” strongly points toward Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez from Bleach, who is known as the Sixth Espada. If Grimmjow joins the game, he could become one of the strongest damage units in the update. Since Bleach content is already connected to the Spirit City Raid, there’s also a possibility that the raid will receive new stages or additional content.
Grimmjow could be available through:
- Summons
- Raid rewards
- Evolution materials
- Exclusive equipment
Nothing has been confirmed yet, but preparing your raid team is a good idea.
Zeref
Another teaser shows a mysterious book with the word “Eclipse.” This likely refers to Zeref from Fairy Tail. If he arrives, Zeref will probably be a magic-based unit that uses dark magic or curse abilities. His evolution materials or equipment may come from a new stage or trial.
Judar
A spear teaser with the word “Oracle” appears to hint at Judar from Magi. Judar could become another powerful magic character with abilities such as:
- Ice attacks
- Lightning damage
- Freeze effects
- Stun skills
- Crowd control
He may also work well with existing magic support units.
Itachi
Although not officially teased by name, many players believe Itachi Uchiha could arrive alongside the Naruto-inspired map. If added, he could feature abilities based on:
- Burn damage
- Stun
- Genjutsu
- Crowd control
Since there hasn’t been an official reveal, players should treat this as speculation for now.
What You Should Do Before Update 0.5
Preparing early will help you unlock new content much faster after the update launches.
Complete Every Story Map
If a new Story Mode is added after King’s Tomb, you’ll need to clear the current maps first. Finishing every available Story stage now will allow you to jump straight into the new content without delays.
Upgrade Your Main Team
New Story Acts, Infinite Mode, and Mastery stages will likely be more difficult than current content. Spend some time improving your strongest units so they are ready for harder enemies.
Save Your Gems
This is probably the most important preparation. Several new characters may arrive through the summon banner, so avoid spending gems unless absolutely necessary. Saving now gives you a much better chance of pulling the new units once Update 0.5 releases.
Farm During Weekend Surge
Weekend Surge offers several useful bonuses, including:
- Double Challenge rewards
- Extra Battle Pass EXP
Use this event to collect as many Sprites as possible.
It’s also a good idea to keep different Sprite colors because the evolution materials for upcoming units are still unknown.
Stockpile Upgrade Materials
Instead of using all your resources now, save them for the new characters. Items worth saving include:
- Trade Crystals
- Stat Rerolls
- Stat Locks
- Equipment Rerolls
- Equipment Locks
Having these resources ready will make it much easier to build any new unit immediately.
Keep Farming Gold
Gold is always needed for upgrading units. Before the update arrives, make sure your Gold Mine continues running by supplying enough Fuel Cells. You’ll need plenty of Gold for:
- Leveling
- Evolutions
- Equipment upgrades
- Stat rerolls
Prepare Your Raid Team
If Grimmjow is introduced through a new Bleach Raid, having a strong raid team will save you time. Upgrade your best raid units now instead of waiting until the update goes live.
Claim Current Rewards
Before Update 0.5 launches, don’t forget to collect everything that’s currently available. Make sure you claim:
- Active redeem codes
- Event rewards
- Free units
- Limited skins
- Login rewards
Some of these rewards may disappear once the update begins.
Although Update 0.5 may not be the game’s biggest update, it could still introduce plenty of new content. A Naruto-inspired map, possible characters like Grimmjow, Zeref, Judar, and Itachi, along with new equipment and raid content, could change the current meta.
To avoid falling behind, finish the current Story Mode, strengthen your main team, save your Gems, and stock up on important upgrade materials. Taking a little time to prepare now will make it much easier to enjoy everything Update 0.5 has to offer as soon as it becomes available.
