Drain the Lake Atlantis Guide: How to Find Atlantis, Open the Door, and Get the Trident Bucket!
The Atlantis update introduced one of the most mysterious biomes in Drain the Lake, featuring a hidden chamber, a unique puzzle, and a free Legendary bucket. However, finding Atlantis isn’t guaranteed, and many players are left wondering how to unlock its massive door after finally discovering it. This guide explains everything you need to know about the Atlantis biome, including where it can spawn, how to unlock the hidden chamber, where to find the Jeweled Bowl, and how to claim the Legendary Trident Bucket.
Where to Find Atlantis in Drain the Lake
Unlike some other locations in the game, Atlantis does not have a fixed spawn point. Instead, its appearance depends entirely on the biome generation for your current run. There are a few important things to know:
- Atlantis can only appear after reaching Checkpoint 5.
- Every run uses a randomized biome sequence.
- The biome may appear immediately after Checkpoint 5 or much later.
- Some runs won’t generate Atlantis at all.
Because the game reshuffles biome placements each time you start a new run, there’s no guaranteed method to force Atlantis to appear. If you don’t encounter it, you’ll simply need to begin another run and hope the biome is included.
How to Unlock the Atlantis Door
The highlight of Atlantis is its enormous sealed door, which leads to a hidden treasure chamber. However, opening it requires completing a small environmental puzzle. Here’s how to unlock it:
- Continue draining the lake while exploring Atlantis.
- As the water level drops, additional sections of the biome become accessible.
- Keep exploring until you discover the Jeweled Bowl.
- Equip the Jewel Bucket.
- Fill the Jeweled Bowl with water using the Jewel Bucket.
- Return to the large Atlantis door and interact with it.
Once the bowl has been filled correctly, the door will unlock and allow you to enter the hidden chamber.
Where to Find the Jeweled Bowl
The Jeweled Bowl isn’t visible when you first enter Atlantis. Instead, you’ll need to continue lowering the water level within the biome. As more of Atlantis is uncovered, the bowl will eventually become accessible in one of the newly revealed sections. If you haven’t found it yet, simply keep draining the area and searching the newly exposed paths until it appears.
Which Bucket Is Needed?
Only one bucket works for opening the Atlantis door. You’ll need the:
- Jewel Bucket
After equipping it, interact with the Jeweled Bowl to pour water into it. Using other buckets won’t complete the puzzle, so make sure you have the correct one before attempting to unlock the chamber.
What’s Behind the Atlantis Door?
Opening the Atlantis door rewards you with a hidden room containing one of the game’s Legendary buckets. Inside the chamber, you’ll find:
- Trident Bucket (Legendary)
The Trident Bucket can be collected for free once you’ve unlocked the room, making the Atlantis puzzle well worth completing whenever the biome appears. Aside from the Legendary bucket, there aren’t any additional gameplay rewards inside the chamber.
Can You Open the Treasure Chests?
While exploring Atlantis, you’ll notice several decorative treasure chests scattered throughout the biome and inside the hidden chamber. Unfortunately, these chests currently serve as scenery only. At the moment:
- Treasure chests cannot be opened.
- They don’t contain loot.
- They have no gameplay function.
They’re simply decorative objects designed to enhance the underwater atmosphere of the Atlantis biome.
Atlantis is one of the most unique biomes in Drain the Lake, offering players an environmental puzzle instead of a traditional treasure hunt. Since biome generation is randomized, finding Atlantis may take multiple runs, but the reward is worthwhile. After locating the Jeweled Bowl and using the Jewel Bucket to unlock the massive door, you’ll gain access to the hidden chamber where you can claim the Legendary Trident Bucket for free. Even though the decorative treasure chests can’t be opened, Atlantis remains one of the most interesting locations to explore in the game.
