Secret Keys are some of the most valuable collectibles in Catch and Tame. Each key unlocks hidden areas containing exclusive pets, useful shops, special rewards, or progression upgrades that make your adventure much easier. In total, there are six Secret Keys spread across different islands. Some are earned by catching pets carrying keys, while others require solving puzzles or completing unique objectives. First Secret Key – Second Island
The first Secret Key can be found on the Second Island, which is connected to the starter island by a bridge. Keep in mind that this island doesn’t remain available all the time. It appears approximately every 30 minutes, so you’ll need to wait for it to spawn before crossing the bridge.
How to Get the First Key
After arriving on the island:
- Look for a Common pet carrying a key in its mouth.
- Catch that pet using your lasso.
- The Secret Key is automatically added to your inventory.
The good news is that this pet belongs to the Common rarity, so even the basic starter lasso is enough to capture it.
What Does the First Key Unlock?
Use the key to open the locked cave built into the cliff. Inside the cave, you’ll have a chance to encounter the Mythical Yeti, making this one of the earliest opportunities to add a rare pet to your collection.
Second Secret Key – Dragon Island
The next Secret Key is located on Dragon Island. There are several ways to reach the island:
- Use a teleport.
- Ride a flying pet.
- Wait for the cloud platforms to appear.
Once you’re there, you’ll notice a large locked cage containing pets, but you’ll need another key before you can open it.
How to Find the Key
Head to the second section of Dragon Island and follow these directions:
- Cross the bridge.
- Walk through the stone arch.
- Turn right.
- Climb the stairs.
- Enter the nearby cave.
Inside the cave is a puzzle requiring six Legendary Eggs.
Complete the Legendary Egg Puzzle
To unlock the hidden room:
- Collect six Legendary Eggs.
- Place one egg into each pedestal inside the cave.
- After placing all six eggs, the sealed door will open.
Behind the door you’ll find the second Secret Key.
Dragon Island Reward
Take the key back to the large cage and unlock it to gain access to the pets that spawn inside.
Third Secret Key – Forgotten Depths
The third Secret Key is one of the most important progression items in Catch and Tame. Travel to Forgotten Depths, then dive beneath the water until you reach the bottom of the area. You’ll discover a locked gate that blocks access to deeper underwater zones.
How to Obtain the Key
Just like the first island, you’ll need to catch a pet carrying a key.
Look for:
- A Common Clownfish
- The key is visible in its mouth
Once captured, the key automatically enters your inventory.
Why This Key Matters
Opening the underwater gate grants access to:
- The second section of Forgotten Depths.
- The Abyss.
- Additional underwater pets.
If you’re aiming to complete your pet collection, this key is essential.
Fourth Secret Key – Lost Docks Island
Unlike previous keys, this one isn’t obtained by catching a pet. Instead, you’ll need to go fishing.
How to Catch the Secret Key
After arriving on Lost Docks Island:
- Purchase any fishing rod.
- Watch for a glowing lake.
- Cast your line into the glowing water.
If the glow hasn’t appeared yet, simply wait until it does.
The Secret Key can be caught directly while fishing.
Unlock the Underground Shop
After obtaining the key:
- Head underground through the entrance in the middle of the island.
- Open the locked door.
Inside you’ll discover a hidden shop selling valuable equipment, including:
- Divine Fishing Rod
- Special Bait
These items are extremely useful for catching Divine pets found around Lost Docks.
Fifth Secret Key – Safari Island
Safari Island also hides a Secret Key behind another pet encounter.
Catch the Key Carrier
Search the island for a Common pet holding a key in its mouth.
Once caught:
- The key automatically enters your inventory.
Again, a basic lasso is more than enough since the required pet is Common rarity.
Where to Use the Key
After obtaining it:
- Visit the pet display board.
- Enter the nearby tunnel leading into the mountain.
- Continue through the corridor.
- Turn right.
- Climb the stairs.
You’ll find a locked chest waiting at the end.
Safari Chest Rewards
The chest contains pet food, which helps level your companions faster.
Even better, this isn’t a one-time reward.
The chest refreshes on the same timer as the Second Island, allowing you to return regularly and collect additional food every time it resets.
Many players assume the chest only works once, but it can actually become a consistent source of pet food throughout your adventure.
Sixth Secret Key – Bee Island
The final Secret Key is found on Bee Island, and it’s one of the most rewarding keys in the game.
Finding the Key
Search for a Common Bee carrying a key in its mouth.
Instead of catching every bee you see, focus only on the one visibly holding the key to save time.
After capturing it, the final Secret Key is added to your inventory.
Volcano Door Reward
Use the key to unlock the hidden door inside the island’s volcano.
This area provides several important progression features.
You’ll gain access to:
- Event Lasso Shop
- Lasso Stat Upgrade Station
- Additional progression features
How to Unlock the Event Lasso
Although entering the volcano requires the Secret Key, purchasing the Event Lasso involves one extra step. Before it becomes available, you’ll need to complete the Bee Island objective by collecting every beehive around the island. Once finished:
- Return to the volcano.
- Visit the shop.
- Save enough coins to purchase the Event Lasso.
Many players mistakenly believe the lasso isn’t available because they forget to revisit the volcano after completing the quest.
