The Gloomy Crevice is one of the deepest fishing areas you can explore in The Deep in Fisch. After making your way through the Outer Deep, this area offers a collection of strange and dangerous-looking creatures, including sharks, eels, anglerfish, snailfish, and even a special Hunt fish.

There are 21 unique entries in the Gloomy Crevice Bestiary. Most of them can be caught normally as long as you have the right bait, weather, time, and season. The main exception is the Monstrous Cusk, which only appears during its special Hunt event.

How to Reach Gloomy Crevice in Fisch

The Gloomy Crevice can be found deep underwater near the Nereus Main Quest building. From there, dive farther down until you reach the area.

How to Catch the Monstrous Cusk

The Monstrous Cusk is the hardest entry to plan for because it does not simply appear whenever you visit the Gloomy Crevice. It is a Hunt-type fish that only becomes available for a limited period.

To find out whether a Monstrous Cusk Hunt is active, keep an eye on the Global Event chat. If the Hunt appears, you should head toward the Gloomy Crevice as quickly as possible.

Once the Hunt begins, look around the area for the Monstrous Cusk. Unlike regular fishing, you need to use your Harpoon Gun to attack the creature directly.

Aim for its head and fire your Harpoon Gun to deal damage. After taking several hits, the Monstrous Cusk will leave the Gloomy Crevice and move toward the Depths main POI.

Follow the creature and continue attacking its head. Eventually, you will trigger the Harpoon Gun minigame. The minigame comes with a -90% Progress Speed penalty, making the final part of the encounter considerably harder.

Because the Monstrous Cusk can only be encountered during its Hunt, it is worth preparing your Harpoon Gun and Bio-Infused Coral before the event appears. That way, you can immediately focus on the Hunt instead of searching for the required equipment.
