The latest Jujutsu Zero update brings a major change to the Shrine technique with the addition of Sukuna’s Mark. This new passive is made specifically for Shrine and gives it a huge damage boost, new attacks, an extra Shrine variant, and a special charge system. There is also a downside to using the passive, so it is important to understand how Sukuna’s Mark works before changing your current build.

What Does Sukuna’s Mark Do?

Sukuna’s Mark is a passive designed specifically for players who use Shrine. Its main effects include:

  • 100% increased Shrine damage.
  • Custom basic attacks.
  • Access to an Open Shrine variant.
  • A new status effect that deals damage over time.
  • A new Sukuna’s Mark charge system.
  • Access to World Ending Slash.

The biggest benefit is the 100% Shrine damage increase. In simple terms, Shrine abilities can deal roughly twice their normal damage while the passive is equipped. Shrine itself also received a buff in the update, making the combination even stronger.

Sukuna’s Mark Basic Attacks

The passive does more than increase ability damage. When Sukuna’s Mark is equipped with Shrine, your basic attacks are replaced with custom attacks. This gives you another way to deal damage while waiting for your main Shrine abilities to come off cooldown. This is useful during longer fights because you are not forced to rely only on your regular skills.

Open Shrine Variant

Sukuna’s Mark also unlocks an Open version of Shrine. This gives Shrine another powerful option during combat and makes the technique more competitive with other strong cursed techniques. If Shrine is already your main technique, the Open Shrine addition gives you another reason to use Sukuna’s Mark instead of a general-purpose passive.

Sukuna’s Mark Status Effect

There is also a special status effect connected to the passive. Unlike normal ailments, Sukuna’s Mark applies its own damage-over-time effect. The effect deals continuous tick damage, with one tick occurring every second.

Each tick also adds progress to your Sukuna’s Mark charge bar. One tick gives you half of one charge, meaning you need eight total ticks to completely fill the bar. Once the bar reaches four full charges, you unlock the passive’s strongest attack.

World Ending Slash

After reaching four Sukuna’s Mark charges, you can use World Ending Slash. This attack is connected directly to the passive, so it does not take up one of your normal Shrine skill slots. That means you can keep your regular Shrine abilities while also having access to this additional powerful attack. The charge system works like this:

  • 1 tick = half a charge.
  • 2 ticks = 1 charge.
  • 8 ticks = 4 full charges.
  • 4 charges unlock World Ending Slash.

This gives Shrine users another strong attack to use during longer fights.

Sukuna’s Mark Ailment Trade-Off

Sukuna’s Mark does have an important downside. When the passive is equipped, normal ailment effects will no longer activate. This means effects such as Water Prison will not trigger even if they are attached to your equipment.

Because of this, players using Sukuna’s Mark should focus more on raw damage instead of building around regular ailment activation. The passive does compensate for this by giving you its own status effect and charge mechanic.

How to Get Sukuna’s Mark

Getting Sukuna’s Mark requires collecting three separate parts. You need to obtain all three pieces and then take them to the Passive Ability Exchange NPC. The three parts come from different sources:

  • Infinite Crates: Open Infinite Crates until you obtain the first part.
  • Cursed Remnant: Find and defeat the Cursed Remnant until it drops the second part.
  • King of Curses Boss: Defeat the King of Curses on the final difficulty to obtain the third part.

Make sure you use the correct difficulty for the King of Curses fight. The easier versions of the boss will not provide the required Sukuna’s Mark piece. Once you have all three parts, return to the Passive Ability Exchange NPC and craft Sukuna’s Mark.

How to Equip Sukuna’s Mark

After crafting the passive, equip it alongside Shrine. Sukuna’s Mark is specifically designed around Shrine, so using it with another cursed technique will not provide the same benefits. Once both are equipped, you gain access to the passive’s main features, including the Shrine damage increase, custom basic attacks, Open Shrine, the special status effect, and World Ending Slash.

Is Sukuna’s Mark Worth Getting?

If you mainly use Shrine, Sukuna’s Mark is definitely worth getting. The 100% Shrine damage increase alone is a huge upgrade. On top of that, you receive new basic attacks, Open Shrine, damage-over-time effects, and World Ending Slash. The main disadvantage is losing normal ailment activation. However, if you change your equipment to focus on raw damage, the passive’s benefits can easily make up for that limitation.

If you mainly use techniques such as Ten Shadows or Star Rage, you may be better off keeping a passive that matches your current build. For Shrine users, however, Sukuna’s Mark should be one of the main upgrades to work toward.

Sukuna’s Mark is a major upgrade for Shrine users in Jujutsu Zero. The passive effectively doubles Shrine’s damage while adding several new mechanics that change how the technique is played.

You get custom basic attacks, Open Shrine, a unique damage-over-time effect, and the powerful World Ending Slash. The loss of normal ailment effects is the main drawback, but players who build around raw damage can make excellent use of the passive.

If Shrine is your main technique, collecting the three Sukuna’s Mark parts should be a high priority. Once crafted and equipped, it can turn Shrine into a much stronger option for raids and boss farming.
