Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Tier List – Best Characters Ranked
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls has officially launched on PC and consoles, giving players access to a roster of 21 fighters. Whether you played during the closed beta, open beta, or are jumping into the game for the first time, choosing the right character can make a big difference when learning the game’s tag-based combat system.
Every fighter has their own strengths, weaknesses, assists, and preferred playstyle. Some characters are excellent at controlling neutral and punishing opponents from across the screen, while others are built around aggressive rushdown and corner pressure.
This Marvel Tokon tier list ranks the currently available characters from S Tier to C Tier based primarily on their combat potential, ease of use, versatility, assists, and performance in the current meta. Some placements are based on beta experience and may change as more players explore the full launch version.
Marvel Tokon Tier List: All Fighters Ranked
The rankings below are divided into four tiers. S Tier contains the strongest overall choices, while C Tier characters have more noticeable weaknesses or require specific conditions to perform well.
- S Tier characters are currently among the strongest fighters in the game and can perform well across many matchups.
- A Tier characters are strong alternatives that can become even better when paired with the right team.
- B Tier characters are solid and reliable, although they may not have the same advantages as the higher-ranked fighters.
- C Tier characters have more significant limitations. They can still win matches, especially in skilled hands, but generally require more work to get the same results.
S Tier
Magik
Magik is one of the strongest characters in Marvel Tokon thanks to her excellent neutral game, long-reaching attacks, zoning tools, and teleportation abilities. She can control space from a distance before suddenly warping behind an opponent to start a damaging combo.
Her ability to quickly change position makes her especially dangerous in the corner. Even if an opponent blocks or misses an attack, Magik can use her mobility to turn that mistake into a major punish.
Why Magik is S Tier:
- Excellent pokes with impressive range
- Strong zoning options
- Great mobility
- Powerful assists
- Easy to learn compared to her potential
- Teleportation creates strong mixup opportunities
Spider-Man
Spider-Man is one of the most technical fighters in the roster, but his versatility makes the effort worthwhile. He can move around the screen quickly, punish whiffs from long range, and create difficult mixups once he gets close.
His Spidey-Sense also gives him access to an extremely useful meterless counter option, making him dangerous even when defending.
Why Spider-Man is S Tier:
- Excellent mixup potential
- Incredible mobility
- Strong screen-wide options
- Great at punishing mistakes
- Adaptable in different situations
- Strong defensive options
Storm
Storm is an excellent neutral-focused character who can also carry opponents toward the corner and establish strong offense. Her Tempest mechanic is central to her gameplay, allowing her to manipulate her movement and projectiles during combat.
She rewards players who understand spacing and timing, but her toolkit is flexible enough to work in many situations.
Why Storm is S Tier:
- Excellent pokes
- Strong neutral game
- Good corner carry
- Tempest creates unique offensive options
- Can chain skills for heavy damage
- High skill ceiling
Black Panther
Black Panther combines mobility, strong pokes, ranged options, and powerful cancel mechanics. Divine Rite is an important part of his kit and gives skilled players plenty of opportunities to convert openings into damage.
Bast’s Blessing also allows Black Panther to threaten opponents from different ranges, making him difficult to predict when controlled by an experienced player.
Why Black Panther is S Tier:
- Excellent mobility
- Powerful pokes
- Strong neutral game
- Effective at multiple ranges
- Great mixup potential
- Divine Rite provides strong resource-based options
Blade
Blade lives up to the hype surrounding his debut. He can quickly close the distance, extend combos, reset pressure, and use Heart Stopper to increase his damage.
He is also useful as a tag partner, making him valuable both as a point character and an assist-focused character.
Why Blade is S Tier:
- Easy to pick up
- Excellent damage
- Strong at different ranges
- Good sustainability
- Powerful assists
- Excellent combo extension and reset potential
Doctor Doom
Doctor Doom is one of the game’s premier zoning characters. He can control the screen with ranged attacks and force opponents to approach carefully.
His ability to surprise enemies with command grabs and convert those openings into combos gives him more options than a traditional zoner. Nullify Shield and Auric Ray can also help him win projectile-based battles.
Why Doctor Doom is S Tier:
- Excellent zoning
- Strong long-range pressure
- Easy skill-based combos
- Strong reactions and punish tools
- Diplomacy can test an opponent’s reactions
- Excellent screen control
His biggest drawback is that his game plan can become quite meter-intensive.
A Tier
Iron Man
Iron Man is a versatile fighter who can zone, approach quickly, and create cross-up opportunities. However, his Unibeam Shooter Assist may be his biggest strength.
Because the assist is so useful, Iron Man can sometimes provide more value as a supporting character for an already powerful point fighter.
Why Iron Man is A Tier:
- Excellent Shooter Assist
- Great mobility
- Strong zoning
- Good close-range options
- Can transition between offense and zoning effectively
Hulk
Hulk plays like a fast-moving powerhouse. Once he gets an opening, he can deal tremendous damage through extensions and armored attacks.
His Gamma Level mechanic gives him another layer to his offense, allowing him to become even more dangerous when his resources are properly managed.
Why Hulk is A Tier:
- Very high damage
- Easy to learn
- Strong synergy with teammates
- Useful assists
- Powerful armored attacks
His aerial mobility is somewhat limited, which can make certain matchups more difficult.
Wolverine
Wolverine is designed for players who enjoy constant aggression. He excels at rushing opponents down, forcing them toward the corner, and maintaining pressure through Berserker chains and mixups.
His biggest weakness is that he can struggle when the opponent successfully turns the momentum around.
Why Wolverine is A Tier:
- Excellent pressure
- Strong close-range combat
- Good mixups
- Easy combo extensions
- Excellent corner offense
Danger
Danger has a large selection of ranged attacks and can keep opponents guessing throughout neutral. Her Calibrate mechanic adds another layer to her game plan by allowing her to activate traps and teleport to their positions.
She is extremely effective with the right assists, although her complexity makes her harder to learn.
Why Danger is A Tier:
- Numerous ranged options
- Strong Shooter Assist
- Strong Assault Assist
- Excellent tag potential
- Calibrate creates unique movement and mixup options
Star-Lord
Star-Lord became a popular choice during the beta periods because of his versatility. His Elemental Blast variations allow him to adapt to different situations and attack from practically anywhere on the screen.
He can punish mistakes from a distance while also setting up tag combinations and close-range mixups.
Why Star-Lord is A Tier:
- Effective at all ranges
- Excellent mobility
- Multiple projectile options
- Strong punish potential
- Good tag-combo opportunities
- Strong mixup tools
His effectiveness can drop against players who are particularly good at reacting to his patterns.
Ghost Rider
Ghost Rider has powerful skills, long combo routes, and several ways to start pressure from a distance. He can force opponents to deal with his attacks while setting up opportunities for longer combos.
The main concern is managing his meter and avoiding overheating before finishing the opponent.
Why Ghost Rider is A Tier:
- Easy to learn
- Strong mixups
- Long-range attacks
- Long combo routes
- Excellent pressure
- Strong damage potential
Magneto
Magneto can overwhelm opponents with repeated projectiles and powerful attacks. His Metallic Hammer and Blast combinations make him especially frustrating to fight when he has the right assists backing him up.
He can also fight effectively at close range, giving him more flexibility than a dedicated zoner.
Why Magneto is A Tier:
- High damage
- Excellent zoning
- Strong full-screen pressure
- Great Shooter Assist
- Great Assault Assist
- Difficult for inexperienced players to deal with
Defensive mechanics can make some of his offensive patterns easier to challenge compared with other top-tier characters.
Deadpool
Deadpool is a unique fighter who requires players to manage self-inflicted damage through Meat Shield before gaining access to his powerful Fourth Wall attacks.
This makes him more demanding than many other characters, but players who learn his routes and cancels can get impressive results.
Why Deadpool is A Tier:
- Strong at multiple ranges
- Excellent mixups
- Powerful special attacks
- Good mobility options
- High combo potential
The biggest challenge is learning his routes well enough to make the health cost worthwhile.
B Tier
Captain America
Captain America is the classic all-rounder. He has tools for practically every situation and is relatively easy for new players to understand.
His biggest weakness is that he does not have the same specialized strengths as some of the characters above him. Still, his balanced kit makes him a reliable choice.
Why Captain America is B Tier:
- Beginner-friendly
- Versatile
- Good damage
- Useful ranged options
- Solid all-around toolkit
Peni Parker
Peni Parker approaches zoning differently from the other characters. She can fill the screen with her tools and create situations where opponents have difficulty approaching safely.
Once players understand her setup patterns, however, her offense becomes easier to anticipate and counter.
Why Peni Parker is B Tier:
- Strong zoning
- Straightforward game plan
- Easy combo conversions
- Can deal significant damage
- Works well with the right assists
Her setups can become predictable against experienced opponents.
Green Goblin
Green Goblin becomes significantly more threatening while riding his glider. His mobility improves dramatically, allowing him to combine movement, projectiles, and mixups.
The downside is that his effectiveness drops when he is forced to fight without the glider.
Why Green Goblin is B Tier:
- High mobility
- Good damage
- Strong projectile game
- Useful mixups
- Can catch unfamiliar opponents off guard
His ground-based gameplay is noticeably weaker compared with his glider-focused game plan.
C Tier
Ms. Marvel
Ms. Marvel is one of the simpler characters to pick up. She can close distance from different positions and use Elasti-grab to maintain pressure while staying advantageous on block.
The problem is that her game plan is relatively linear. As opponents become more familiar with her attacks and more assists enter the match, it becomes harder for her to rely on the same straightforward approach.
Why Ms. Marvel is C Tier:
- Easy combos
- Reliable overhead option
- Simple game plan
- Strong approach tools
- Beginner-friendly
Her biggest weakness is predictability. Skilled opponents can become increasingly comfortable dealing with her limited offensive patterns.
Characters Still Being Evaluated
Not every fighter has enough information available for a reliable placement yet. Some characters are still being tested, and their positions can change as the full-launch meta develops.
The characters still under evaluation include:
- Champion
- Loki
- Carnage
These fighters should not automatically be considered weak simply because they are not currently ranked. More testing is needed to properly understand their strengths, weaknesses, team synergy, and matchup performance.
The Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls meta is still developing, so this tier list should be treated as a current snapshot rather than a permanent ranking. Characters such as Magik, Spider-Man, Storm, Black Panther, Blade, and Doctor Doom stand out because they combine strong individual tools with excellent overall versatility.
That does not mean lower-ranked characters cannot win. Marvel Tokon rewards matchup knowledge, execution, team composition, and player experience, so a skilled player can still make a B or C Tier fighter look extremely strong.
For players who are just starting, Captain America, Hulk, Blade, and Magik are among the easier characters to begin learning, while more technical fighters such as Spider-Man, Danger, and Deadpool can offer greater depth once you become comfortable with their mechanics.
