The latest Legacy Piece update adds several new pieces of content, but two of the biggest additions are Star Platinum and Bankai Ichigo. Both bring new abilities to the game, with Star Platinum coming with its own unique passive while Bankai Ichigo upgrades the legendary Zangetsu weapon with a completely different moveset.

Getting either one requires completing a series of quests, and some parts are much more time-consuming than others. Star Platinum is fairly straightforward to obtain, while Bankai Ichigo requires several boss drops and a special final challenge. Here is everything you need to know about both additions.

How to Get Star Platinum in Legacy Piece

To begin the Star Platinum questline, you first need Joar. Once you have it, head to the newest island added in the update and look for a broken pedestal. The pedestal can be identified by the purple crystal located nearby. Interact with it to start progressing through the Star Platinum questline. The quests require you to complete several different objectives, including boss kills, collecting Starlight materials, and successfully dodging attacks with Observation Haki.

Star Platinum Quest Requirements

You need to complete the following objectives:

  • Find and interact with the broken pedestal on the new island.
  • Defeat 40 spawnable bosses.
  • Collect 50 Starlight Shards.
  • Perform 50 dodges using Observation Haki.
  • Collect 25 Starlight Cores.

The 40 boss kills are one of the easier requirements because you can choose which spawnable bosses to fight. JJK bosses are a good option if you want something relatively easy to farm.

For the Starlight Shards, you can obtain them from four different bosses:

  • Chora
  • Aaron
  • Red Mist
  • Demon Infernal

You need 50 Starlight Shards in total, so focus on whichever of these bosses you can defeat the fastest.

The Observation Haki requirement is also fairly simple. You need to successfully dodge attacks 50 times while using Observation Haki. You can work on this while farming bosses instead of treating it as a completely separate task.

How to Get Starlight Cores

The final Star Platinum requirement is arguably the most annoying part of the questline. You need 25 Starlight Cores, and they can be obtained from several stronger bosses. The available bosses include:

  • Ancient Deep Shark
  • Solemn Lament
  • Undy
  • Ichigo Bankai Boss

These bosses have considerably more health than the easier enemies used for the earlier quests, so this part can take some time.

Ancient Deep Shark and Ichigo Bankai Boss are good targets if your character has enough damage to handle them consistently. Ichigo Bankai Boss can be spawned at Hollow Island and has around 100 million HP.

If you are struggling to kill him, using powerful characters such as Gojo or Flashy Flash can make the farming process easier. You can also farm in public servers if you want to take advantage of other players helping with the boss.

Once you have completed every requirement, return to the quest NPC. You will then be able to purchase Star Platinum.

Star Platinum Enchant and Ascend

After obtaining Star Platinum, you can continue upgrading it through the enchant and ascend systems. The Stand also comes with a unique passive, giving it additional value beyond its standard moveset.

Its abilities are fairly strong and the combat animations are decent. However, the visual presentation may not be as impressive as some of the other recently added content. Even so, Star Platinum remains a useful addition if you are looking for another powerful option for your build.

The hardest part of obtaining it is mainly the final Starlight Core requirement. The earlier quests can be completed relatively quickly if you already have a strong farming setup.

How to Get Bankai Ichigo in Legacy Piece

Bankai Ichigo works differently from Star Platinum. Instead of obtaining a completely separate character or Stand, it is a new passive for the legendary Zangetsu weapon.

To begin the quest, travel to Hollow Island and find the new NPC. Speak with him to start the Bankai questline.

The first objective requires you to collect 30 Echoes.

Collect 30 Echoes

To obtain the Echoes, you need to defeat 30 World Bosses.

You can choose which World Bosses to fight, so it is best to target bosses where you have an elemental advantage. This can make the farming process much faster.

If you want an easier option, the Eto Boss can also be used to complete the requirement.

After collecting 30 Echoes, you will move on to the much more difficult Three Remnants quest.

Three Remnants Quest

The Three Remnants section requires several special materials from different bosses. This is where the Bankai Ichigo questline starts becoming significantly more time-consuming.

The required materials include:

  • 10 Fragment of Stilled Rayi from Do Boss
  • Abyssal Hollow Heart from Ancient Deep Shark
  • Crimson Wood Remnant from Red Mist
  • Hollow Reaper from Ichigo Bankai Boss

You will need to visit multiple bosses to complete this objective, so having a strong farming build is highly recommended.

Ancient Deep Shark and Ichigo Bankai Boss are especially important because they are also involved in the Star Platinum material grind. If you are trying to unlock both Star Platinum and Bankai Ichigo, it makes sense to work on these bosses together rather than completing each questline separately.

This can save a significant amount of time during the overall grind.

How to Complete the Sea of Blade Quest

After completing the Three Remnants objective, you will receive the final quest called Sea of Blade.

This quest takes you to a special area where you have to select the True Zangetsu.

There is an important catch: choosing incorrectly will result in a cooldown of around 10 minutes. Because of this, you should take your time instead of randomly selecting an option.

Once you successfully choose the True Zangetsu, you will automatically receive Bankai.

This completes the Bankai Ichigo obtainment process.

What Does Bankai Ichigo Do?

Bankai completely changes the Zangetsu moveset. It comes with new attacks, higher damage, and additional abilities that are not available with the standard version of the weapon.

The transformation lasts for around three minutes, making it particularly useful when you need a temporary boost during combat.

The new moveset is one of the strongest parts of this update. The attacks have more impact and the increased damage makes Bankai a much more attractive option for players who are already using Zangetsu.

However, the grind required to obtain it is considerably harder than simply unlocking a normal weapon upgrade.

Which Should You Get First?

If you are deciding between the two, Star Platinum is the easier target.

Star Platinum requires:

  • 40 spawnable boss kills
  • 50 Starlight Shards
  • 50 Observation Haki dodges
  • 25 Starlight Cores

Bankai Ichigo requires:

  • 30 World Boss kills
  • Multiple boss-specific materials
  • A final True Zangetsu selection challenge

For players who want something that can be obtained with a more straightforward farming routine, Star Platinum is the better starting point.

Bankai Ichigo is more suitable for players who already have a strong endgame build and can comfortably farm bosses such as Ancient Deep Shark and Ichigo Bankai Boss.

Best Way to Farm the New Content

If you want to unlock both additions, try to combine your farming sessions rather than completing one questline from beginning to end.

A practical approach is:

  • Start with the 40 spawnable boss requirement for Star Platinum.
  • Farm Starlight Shards from the easiest available bosses.
  • Complete the 50 Observation Haki dodges while fighting enemies.
  • Move on to Ancient Deep Shark and Ichigo Bankai Boss for Starlight Cores.
  • Start the Bankai questline at Hollow Island.
  • Complete the 30 World Boss requirement.
  • Farm the required remnants from each boss.
  • Finish the Sea of Blade challenge.
  • Return to the Star Platinum NPC once all of its requirements are complete.

This approach lets you make better use of your time, especially because some of the same bosses are needed for multiple objectives.

Are Star Platinum and Bankai Ichigo Worth Getting?

Both additions are worth considering for players who have reached the later stages of Legacy Piece. Star Platinum offers a unique passive and a solid moveset, while Bankai Ichigo gives Zangetsu a major upgrade with new attacks and increased damage.

The main downside is the amount of grinding involved. Bankai Ichigo in particular requires several boss-specific drops, and some of the bosses have huge health pools. The Sea of Blade quest can also be frustrating because a failed selection results in a cooldown.

The update also continues the game’s growing power creep. Adding stronger passives and increasingly powerful movesets can make older content feel less useful over time. If future updates continue increasing character and weapon power at the same pace, balancing the game’s existing content could become a bigger challenge.

For now, however, Star Platinum and Bankai Ichigo are two of the most interesting additions in the latest Legacy Piece update. If you already have a strong character capable of farming the tougher bosses, they are definitely worth adding to your collection.
