The game uses Enlistment Tickets for character summons. You can also receive one free SR character at the beginning, with Midoriya, Bakugo, and Todoroki available as choices. After that, additional characters are mainly obtained through banners, which can feature different SR characters at the same time.

Shoto Todoroki

Shoto Todoroki is one of the best characters to build around because his Ice Wall offers both damage and utility. The attack can hit multiple enemies, block incoming projectiles, and freeze targets, giving him several useful effects in a single skill.

Hawks

Hawks combines speed, mobility, and damage, making him one of the strongest main characters available. His Vortex ability creates an area of damage around him, allowing him to deal with groups while moving around the battlefield.

He also benefits from Laceration and strong Critical scaling. The main drawback is that Hawks needs to stay relatively close to enemies to get the most from his kit. Players who are comfortable with movement can take much greater advantage of his strengths.

All Might

All Might offers a good balance between damage and team utility. His Texas Smash can damage enemies around him while also sending out a projectile, giving him useful coverage at different ranges.

His Detroit Smash is especially valuable because it can provide every ally with a 20% Attack increase. This makes All Might useful not only for his own damage but also for improving the performance of the entire team.

Tomura Shigaraki

Tomura Shigaraki is another strong area-damage character. His Hand of Decay Ultimate has a relatively low 120 SP cost, allowing him to use it more frequently than many other characters.

He can apply Laceration and gain up to 40% Attack Up, while additional hit effects help him maintain pressure against both groups and bosses. His combination of low Ultimate cost, damage, and scaling makes him one of the most reliable characters to invest in.

A-Tier Characters

A-tier characters are still very strong and can easily become core members of a team. They may have slightly more specific requirements than S-tier units, but the right stage or team setup can make them extremely effective.

Kurogiri

Kurogiri is less focused on raw damage and more valuable because of his defensive utility. Warp Gate can provide the entire team with Invincibility for several seconds while only requiring 150 SP.

His personal damage is not impressive, but protecting the entire team from incoming attacks can completely change difficult encounters. He is particularly useful when survival matters more than quickly defeating enemies.

Momo Yaoyorozu

Momo is a defensive support character with an Ultimate that increases the maximum HP of all allies by up to 40%. The additional HP is restored immediately, effectively giving the team an emergency healing effect.

Her biggest limitation comes from being an R-rarity character, which can make some of her progression breakpoints harder to reach. Even so, her team-wide HP increase gives her plenty of value.

Shota Aizawa

Shota Aizawa is a strong choice for boss-focused content. His attacks can hit multiple enemies despite being a melee character, while his Ultimate provides both Attack Down and Melee Defense Down.

The combination allows him to reduce incoming damage while also making enemies easier for melee attackers to defeat. He is particularly useful when a boss is the main threat on the stage.

All For One

All For One is a ranged character with strong piercing capabilities. His attacks can pass through large groups of enemies, allowing him to hit up to 30 targets.

He can also remove enemy projectiles when using his skill, giving him additional utility beyond damage. This makes him a useful pick for stages where enemies are grouped together or projectile attacks are common.

Endeavor

Endeavor becomes much stronger once his Burn effects start scaling. His Hot Shot ability can generate additional projectile attacks, giving him strong potential against bosses.

His biggest issue is investment. Some of his Burn-related power does not become available until later upgrades, meaning he can feel weaker during the early stages of progression.

Stain

Stain uses a wide 180-degree attack and can gain additional Critical Rate as his abilities develop. His Bloody Purge also gains Paralysis and Melee Defense Down at higher investment levels.

He is therefore a solid melee damage option, although getting the most from him requires more upgrades than some of the easier-to-use characters above him.

Himiko Toga

Himiko Toga is a ranged R-rarity character with a useful Laceration-focused kit. She can apply Laceration from a distance and gain additional SP regeneration after reaching her Awakened state.

This can create a useful Ultimate cycle, allowing her to maintain pressure while helping the main character generate more resources. Her low rarity also makes her easier to obtain than many SR options.

B-Tier Characters

B-tier units can still be good additions to a team, but their effectiveness depends more heavily on the stage, positioning, or amount of investment you put into them.

Ochaco Uraraka

Ochaco is excellent when enemies are packed into small rooms or narrow corridors. Her bouncing projectile can hit multiple targets and clear dense groups quickly.

The problem is consistency. She loses much of her value on open maps, especially against a single boss with plenty of space to move around. Her performance is therefore highly dependent on the stage layout.

Katsuki Bakugo

Bakugo can become a strong melee attacker once he receives enough upgrades. His circular attack pattern allows him to hit enemies around him, while his movement-based follow-up rewards active control when used as a main character.

However, he does not bring much in terms of healing, debuffs, or other team utility. He also needs a higher star level before his strongest attack patterns become available.

Tenya Iida

Iida is primarily useful because of his speed. His team movement-speed bonus can help with missions involving movement, escort objectives, and rescue scenarios.

His Invincibility Ultimate is also a useful defensive tool for players controlling him as their main character. His low damage output prevents him from ranking higher, but his mobility can still make him useful in the right situation.

Tsuyu Asui

Tsuyu provides something that very few characters can: team healing. Her Ultimate restores HP to allies based on her HP Recovery stat, making her a useful safety option for teams that struggle to survive.

Her damage is low, however, and she needs a team that benefits from her healing to justify the slot. She is better viewed as a defensive support option than a damage dealer.

C-Tier Characters

C-tier characters have useful abilities, but their weaknesses make them harder to recommend as general-purpose units. Most need specific upgrades or stage conditions before they can compete with higher-ranked characters.

Dabi

Dabi’s Burn damage has good potential, but much of that power is locked behind upgrades. Reliable Burn application also takes significant investment.

Because it takes so long for Dabi to reach his useful breakpoint, other characters generally provide more value during normal progression.

Eijiro Kirishima

Kirishima has a defensive Ultimate, but Red Counter mainly protects Kirishima himself instead of the whole team. His basic attack coverage and team utility also fall behind other melee characters.

He can still work as a frontline option, but there are better choices if you have access to higher-ranked units.

Present Mic

Present Mic can perform well on enclosed maps because his bouncing projectile can hit multiple enemies. Unfortunately, the same attack becomes much less useful when enemies have plenty of room to spread out.

His 195 SP Ultimate is also expensive for an R-rarity character, making him difficult to recommend compared with other ranged options.

D-Tier Character

Denki Kaminari

Denki currently sits at the bottom of the tier list because his kit requires too much investment for the results it provides. His Ultimate can apply Attack Down and Movement Speed Down to himself, which makes the drawback especially noticeable.

His enemy Paralysis effect only becomes available at the maximum Ultimate level. Since stronger melee alternatives are available at different rarities, spending significant resources on Denki is difficult to justify.

Before spending your Enlistment Tickets, it is worth understanding how the character summon rates work. The current listed rates are:

Collections use a separate pool with their own rates:

Who Should You Pick First?

For players who receive the free SR selection at the beginning, Izuku Midoriya is one of the safest choices. He is simple to use, provides reliable ranged damage, and contributes a team-wide Attack bonus.

Shoto Todoroki is another excellent option if you want stronger area control and late-game scaling. His ability to freeze enemies while blocking projectiles gives him more utility than simple damage dealers.

Bakugo can also work, especially if you enjoy controlling a melee character, but he generally needs more investment before reaching his best performance.

For overall progression, Hawks, Todoroki, Midoriya, All Might, and Shigaraki are the characters worth prioritizing. The best choice can still change depending on whether you are fighting bosses, clearing waves, or dealing with a stage that favors defensive abilities.

The strongest My Hero Academia United Survival teams are not always made by simply choosing the characters with the highest damage. Utility, movement, crowd control, defensive skills, and upgrade requirements all matter when building a team.

S-tier characters such as Todoroki, Midoriya, Hawks, All Might, and Shigaraki are the safest long-term investments, while A-tier characters can fill important roles depending on the stage. Even B- and C-tier characters have specific situations where their abilities can work well.
